Stop and Go Lag since Update.

I'm not sure if anyone else is getting this but I've been getting bug reports, dc'ing, and LAG and not just your normal high ping lag but stop and go lag. It says my ping is 126 ms (Green) then it will stop, nothing works and then everything does the mad dash to catch up. My ping then will be 37450ms, 17998ms (red)or others in that range. I've shut the game down, restarted and even restarted my computer. I've check my connection to the internet, which is awesome by the way. So yeah I think it's you PWI. Could you maybe fix it? Thanks.

Please post if you are getting this problem since the update too.

P.S. PWI your bug reports are bugged too, about 2/3 of them freeze up and won't go though, I have to then go into my system and delete them so that they will clear.

I havent had the DCing or lag, but have had quite a few bug report crashes *shrug*

I did and it does not make what I linked any less relevant. Were you to have read it and attempted to apply it, you'd have a greater understanding of what may have happened as well as both possible solutions for you and limitations.


The very fact that everyone on the east coast wasn't experiencing this problem highly mitigates the chances of it being PWI like you claimed. The internet does NOT work in the way your first post implies here and had you taken the time to read what I linked you'd have realized this.

I've had a combo of dc/bug reports since a week or so before the big update. Same as with you, its a strange 'lag' where everything just stops. Its almost like pausing a movie, fast forwarding 10 seconds then hitting play again.
I thought it was my game and verified like 15 times, but it didn't help. I even pulled the side and cleaned everything inside in case the graphics card was getting hot. What annoys me most is as long as i'm sitting here looking at the screen, there seems to be n/p, soon as i walk away and come back i have a disconnect notice, or a bug report. I've checked everything i can on my end, and all seems fine. Hope it works itself out soon. b:surrender

I play pwi 3 years. Never had problems with connection and lags. Now my ping is 1500+ sometimes green 200ms. ping is too high since last reset of server.

Too bad you can't read the sticky.

Mine hasn't changed at all. I still traverse 3/4 of the continent before my data hits the server and my average is 150ms with highs in the 250-300 range.

Have you rebooted your PC since you updated the client?

Common reasons that you can't connect to the servers, experience disconnects, or just have lag in general...

1. You don't have the three .exe files for the client set to run as administrator.

4. Your local area network settings are improperly configured.
5. You have more than one firewall and don't realize it. (Common with some modems.)

7. Your router is configured improperly. (Or it's just a cheap router that can't handle the traffic you're putting on it.)
8. you have a bad network cable.
9. You're using a wireless network connection. (Which leads to another huge list of possible issues.)
10. You have a lot of traffic on your local network that is bogging your router/modem down.
11. There's a fault in your router.
12. There's a fault in your modem.
13, You have a bad phone cord plugged into your modem.
14. There's an issue with your house wiring.
15. There's an issue with your outside wiring.
16. A squirrel chewed on your phone/cable line at the pole and it's raining. (I have personally had this happen.)
17. A switch/router at the CO for your ISP is having an issue.
18. One of the many hubs between you and PWI is having an issue. (Most common)
19. There is heavy sunspot activity. (Has happened within the past two years)
20. There's a regional router outage. (This has happened more than a few times. More often occurs with trunk lines crossing large bodies of water)

That's just a few. Sometimes, the easiest fix is something like shutting down your Modem/Router/PC for three minutes and then bringing them back up. Unfortunately, all you've done is complain about having high latency. You haven't done anything that might lead someone who can help you, to be able to help you resolve the issue you're having.
The more details you give, the better I can narrow it down and tell you what the issue is.

At an absolute minimum I would need a copy of a traceroute to the server, and detailed information about how your local network is configured. In some cases, even a published Speccy log.

You don't have to be a tech wiz to provide any of this information either. You just need to be able to click the links I provided and to read and comprehend/follow instructions. I can understand you're frustrated, but sitting and complaining about a connection, without actually ever attempting to fix it, or provide information for those that can help you fix it, it probably one of the stupidest things you can do. If you feel offended by this statement, then you really need to take a closer look at reality.
