Well - maybe some got votes from twinks - np - but if u have 15 persons and u reduced them, then must be less as 5 for get the price - or how can it be, there is someone under the winner but he was not under the 15 top-pictures from player voted? - well u can think what u want - i guess not the voting was the way to win more how many real money some have spend to the servers - where is the problem to let us all see ur list, the name from twinks u deleted and the result (basic-list after clearing out twink-votes) for the last top 5? normally no drama - only if ur winners are not really the winner voted from all players XD - dont worry i no attak to u guys but i was thinking loud here - greetings from germany

The top 15 were voted on by players. The top 5 were selected from those 15 by the GMs.

Anyway, I'd assume they archived the thread and maybe even edited it, to make picking easier if there were multiple GMs looking over it o_o In the end I don't care. I'm just happy that people with actually good combos won and the alt voters got disqualified.

And seeing it as is makes me agree with the choice to not show the top 15/votes they had after the alt pruning and whatnot. Was silly enough when the mods were removing the people who tried to submit multiple entries. b:chuckle

Even if they deleted the 'alts' votes I'm sure Deffy would'nt fit into the top 15, before her there was like 10 people with at least 2 or 3 votes and she had 1 only.

The people who got crazy amount of votes where like 5 or 6, but still I can't know if those were alts votes or only friends asked to bvote for said person.

There's a thing we need to remember here, players play the game everyday since years so ofc for some of us some combos did seems really normal/boring since we see them everyday in game, but GMs barely log in game and doesn't know what is a normal/regular combo or not. I doubt they did threw out people that had a one color combo, it would be unfair in my opinion to disqualify people on something that wasn't a rule. If the GMs don't know what a nuema portal set is, I'm pretty sure they don't know what is the real sets of fash or what is a combo.

As much as I don't like to don't see the official top 15, I highly doubt sparkie wasted his time to go check the zen history of the participants, they have way much more important issues to deal with lately to lose time to check 15-16 people zen history for a fash contest.

Lawl, I hope not.

Mods claim everywhere they are normal players like me and you, normal players had to vote in the voting thread, I'm at 100% for the mods to share their opinion, but if they have anything to do with the 5 winners choice then it will just prove that they aren't normal players and had privileges/powers.

Does mods should have the right to vote like everyone else? Of course, but they shouldn't have the power of influencing the GMs on their decision on the winners.

At that point I wouldn't be surprise if they did, cause it would not be the first time the mods hide us something. So I guess we will never know.

You... you do know that the above post is a bit silly considering it was mod influence that got the whole charm/refine aid thing in the event boutique reverted that fast, right?

Just because we can forward concerns to the staff in a way that we know at least someone gets a look at it (IE: Every time a server has crashed and one of us managed to get in touch with someone at PWE to get it up ASAP long before they even realized it was down) doesn't change that we're suddenly not regular players.

Hell, we kinda get screwed over thanks to the position since we don't get to participate in -ANY- contests/raffles because if for whatever reason we won it'd be treated as "LOL PWE FAVORITISIM" or whatever other sort of drama you know would show up as a result.



Anyways, that's a tangent and better for PM rather than derailing this into "Insert opinion of everything about mods topic #27527857829572547820420"

So you are not denying that the mods did help to chose the 5 winners?

Edit: I'm just asking if the mods did help in anyway to chose the winners of the contest, I don't know why it should be hide in pm, all the players have the right to know. You are the one bringing the charm/refine and servers issue up which is irrelevant to the fashion contest.

Wow that's reading deep into things I never even said, implied, or hinted at in any way.

I'm saying that deciding we aren't normal based on our ability to influence staff members is silly considering that we do that every time we get on their cases about something that's pissed the community off or when a server goes down or whatever.

Meanwhile we're gimped compared to everyone else by our inability to participate in contests period (seriously I can't think of a single contest where a mod has either entered or voted and the reason they're excluded is BECAUSE they're mods) while everyone else gets a fair shot in.




Edit@your edit: If you count pruning the original entries for people submitting multiple entries as "help" then sure. Otherwise... no. For the same reasons we don't get to vote. Enough mod centered drama as is with some people. I doubt sparkie cares much for having more show up, even if people would throw accusations of everything from it being CS based to favoritism to whatever around.

Someone did bring the idea that maybe the mods did help to chose the winners, I did stat my opinion on what I think if the mods had something to do with the choice of the winners, you did reply speaking about communication, charms, refine etc.. and avoiding the actual point and bringing unrelated stuff, then I did ask the question since you did avoid to say if yes or no you had something to do with the winners.

As far as I know I didn't question how the mods moderate the forum, I didn't complain on how the mods do their job, I stated my opinion on something that have nothing to do with moderating the forum and then asked directly the question since you did avoid the whole point of my post.

I don't know if mods are allowed to vote/participate or not in the contests since we aren't allowed to ask questions apparently or tell an opinion if that concern the precious mods.

Maybe you didn't check the thread right before the contest ended? I'm sure I remember seeing a couple votes for Deffy right at the end.

As for why they removed it, as someone else stated they probably edited the thread in order to help them make a decision, deleting posts that were from alts or had multiple entries or whatnot to leave them with a fairly succinct list. I really was hoping they would just post the top 15 in this thread though, and then the top 5 under that.

Regardless of all of this, the winners all had interesting and different combinations so I'm pleased with the results. A competition like this will forever be skewed by people voting for friends/faction members instead of honestly voting for the outfit they like best, but I think all in all this turned out decently. Congratulations to the winners.

But the organization of the contest itself was far from even good. Sorry, guys, who organized it, but first of all the rules were vague and no one (from authorities) really answered the questions asked in either of the threads related to the contest, whether full sets are acceptable or not, whether self-votes are allowed or not... if there had been anyone who'd have followed the contest all the time and gave explanations it would be a lot easier and less stressful for the participants.
And one more thing - why hiding the thread with votes and not showing the top 15? If you edited the votes and omitted some and disqualified others, you should have given us the result at least, don't you think? I am somehow disappointed with the way you held this.

Friendly reminder that mods got to pick something exclusive in-game because they are mods, don't make it sound like they are gimping you by excluding you because of being a mod.

No, they weren't alt votes. The votes were all matched up to individual players and players that used a bunch of alts to vote got their vote thrown out. That actually made up a huge portion of the votes. In addition the top few people as voted by players got a huge percentage of the votes, so it didn't take a lot of votes to end up in the top 15 at the bottom of the list. Lots of people chose not to vote because they saw the alt votes and didn't think there would actually be anything done about alt voting. But actually the voting method made it very easy (if time consuming) to find alt votes since whenever you post on the forums it's linked to your account.

We didn't pick the item, we made a wishlist that ranged from the banal to the obvious fantasyland (because we were having fun with it) and the GM picked what we ended up getting from that. And you make it sound like it's part of being a mod, when actually no other past mods ever received a single thing. And any future mods probably won't receive anything. At any rate, mods can't participate in very much. And although it's not written there, not all of our code of conduct is written here on the forums. I did ask a GM specifically when I first got mod if mods could win and was told no. We aren't allowed to participate in very many either, but if there is a maintenance question contest like the one where v4l asked for jokes. Which is actually the specific one I asked about, we can post a joke but we wouldn't be able to win with it. And that's only because everyone was just tossing jokes out there and there wasn't any need to edit or alter the thread. In this contest we couldn't even really participate because we looking for the alt votes that we could catch with forum tools, so obviously that was a conflict of interests. When you think about it, it makes sense we can't participate in contests. It would seem unfair even if we objectively had the best entry by far.

With the results published I realized all the chosen fashions are for hot summer and this year you'd freeze in such outfits if they were real.
It would be great if people could see the top 15. I guess, many would appreciate just seeing their entry among those 15, if not winning but at least mentioned.
Poor mods! You cannot take part in any of the forum events and you always have to deal with our impatience and sometimes just slow-thinking.

Second I saw a alot of people I have no idea who there are say they voted for are picture.

Third why make a voting event and tell the players there votes count when they don't.

How did our votes not count? Did you not see the giant list of participants that was posted? We voted in order to cut that list down to 15, and you were probably on the top 15. The top 5 is up to GMs because otherwise it would just be popularity and not best outfit(s).
