I just got an email for one of my accounts, saying that a heartbleed happened at PWE and I'm to reset my password.

Is this actually a legit email...? Seems kind of fishy with it only affecting half my accounts o_o

I haven't received anything for either of my accounts. But it won't hurt to change your passwords using official channels (as in, go to arcgames.com and change it there). Do not follow any links in the emails in case it's a phishing email.

Yeah that one isn't PWE. I remembered seeing something like that pop up before on the forums so red flags got triggered for me.

    Edit: Found the relevant quotes.
email.email@perfectworld.com isn't on my list of PWE email addresses. email@email.perfectworld.com is. Can you add a screenshot of the email content please?
Yep, emails coming from email@email.perfectworld.com are officially from us b:thanks

Ok so the email i got is...

    Dear Players,
Recently, our company discovered a “heartbleed” vulnerability on certain sites in our European domain. While we have found no evidence that financial or other confidential information was accessed, we do know that your login credentials are at risk.
To help ensure players' trust and security we have fixed the vulnerability and reset the passwords on these at-risk accounts. We ask that affected players change their passwords immediately.
Rest assured that we take the security of your personal information seriously, and we’re working hard to continue to improve and refine our security measures as we move forward.
We apologize for this inconvenience and would like to thank you for your understanding in this matter.
    Sincerely,
    Kay Gruenwoldt

I received this email from "email@perfectworld.com"
    Is this correct?

Don't enter anything in any link in that email. If you do choose to change your password, go to arcgames.com and do it properly. Never use any shortcuts in emails for changing passwords.

It's legit. I HAD the same mail on this acc and changed my PW with...well PWE was wayyyyy quick in discovering that they have been a victim to said bug...grrr...they just reset some suspicious accs' password. Nothing to worry about. Just a security measure. A slow one but...oh well. PWE.

All the links in the mail direct you to the official arc page but check the links before you enter anything just in case.

Oh... seems to be Europe specific so that may be different.

I'll see if I can get sparkie to come in or get in touch with someone from the EU side just to be certain, then.

It is legitimate, however this is mainly coming from Europe and has not affected the U.S yet. Also explains why the link doesn't look right.

    Thanks for the confirmation o_o

Weird though, it's usually my unaffected account getting hit by the german EU mails.. lol

Since we have a sticky covering this now, I'll go ahead and redirect continued discussion to it.
