Hi SylenThunder, just wanted to ask for your input on the above three traces.

Could you tell me which region starts seeing the issue, where the traffic is flowing to? I am connecting from pakistan currently to Sanctuary. I did google on a whim, and the ptcl.net.pk is the isp website. The last two days the connection drops ever 20~40 minutes. Previous week it was once or twice a day.

Google opens fine, the ptcl site does not open as expected. Also i wanted to ask, you mentioned in your posts about clearing out dns cache, and choosing dns, could you shed some light or info on how to do that, or a link that explains it?

    Assuming you're running a windows machine and have administrator rights on it, to clear the DNS cache:
    Start - Run - "CMD"
    In the Command Prompt enter "ipconfig /flushdns"

    Setting your DNS server differently will have no effect whatsoever on connection stability to PWI. Looking on how the traffic is routed, it appears your traffic to PWI is going over France, then over the transatlantic backbone to the US. Geographically the US West servers might be closest to you, but in networking terms, the EU server will provide a better connection.

    As far as the route itself, that first one looks perfectly normal. It's exactly what I would expect for trying to connect from Pakistan, across the Atlantic trunk lines, and then travelling across the width of the Americas continent before finally arriving at the server.

    Your last trace times out like that because it's reached the destination, but ping requests are being ignored.

    As far as tracing to other servers like Google, ect. It bears absolutely no relation to your ping to the server once you leave your local ISP at hop 4 or 5.

    The times when i am having dc issues, after hop 5~6 everything is timed out for the pwi servers. I presume it is the route which is messing up for me?

    yeah, you might try contacting your ISP and see if there's anything they can do for those hops, but that's about it.
