Because it needs to be said

I do believe this needs to be said for the entirity of the forum server.
Since some of us are being told to diverty back to the "Forum rules" I shall bring them up.
Today, 1, yes 1 person (not me) made a post about looking for help because he was stuck in 79. a Mod (who are suppose to be helpful and nice) besided to throw a rude attitude at a player instead of being helpful.
I would like to also point out, it's pretty common for people to go to the forums to make a issue known instead of submitting a ticket due to a few things -
1- it's a weekend - most tickets aren't answered or looked at on the weekend
2- to warn other people so they don't have the same problem and it can be prevented
So why do you think so of us come to the forum? Why tell us we're wasting our times. And then ontop of it when we actually speak up against the rudiness we recieved from said mod, we're in the wrong. Where is the logic?
Also telling us that we should use our "common sense" thats uncalled for.
NOW, since the rules are being shoved in our faces. Expically when I stood up for this sad person who was looking for help and got them shoved in my face. Lets review shall we?
1. Transmit unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, hateful, racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable content. Profanity filter dodging and filtered words/statements with clear vulgar intent will also be considered outright violations.
2. Post or transmit sexually explicit images, text or other content that is deemed by PWE staff to be offensive.
3. Impersonate any person including, but not limited to, representatives and staff of PWE .
4. Advocate cheating during gameplay including, but not limited to, modification of the game program files.
5. Harass, threaten, verbally abuse PWE as an entity along with its staffers, representatives and all registered users through any and all available channels (forums posts, PMs, in-game chat, etc.).
6. SPAM by posting frequent and/or annoying messages in the forums.
The posts people made abouthis matter was neither of these. BUT the comments recieved by said Mod was abusive and hateful (rule 1) and verbally abuse (rule 5) Telling someone to use common sense instead of being helpful is all of these. Also these posts aren't spam either.
Mod's are suppose to be helpful, direct people in the right direction. Not be rude, abusive, and uncaring.
You know if this mod or any other mod behaves like this the game will never get fixed and the players will go done slowly because look, negative experience equals lose. It's the is many "businesses" in life...rude staff = lose of customers.
Seriously..some people should take a long hard look in the mirror and some of the higher ups should do something about this. My post follows all the rules so it shouldn't be closed, and if it is, i will be calling PWE and making a personal complaint about it because this is beyond a joke.
Now I look forward to all comments, debats, ideas, opinions.weather agree or disagree, but again, it's my opinion and everyone has their own.

our toons are broken, and told to ticket, and wait, or pm mod and wait... lol0 -
No problem. I thought it was very uncalled for for that kind of thing to have happen. I know there are a lot of people that feel the same way. Anyway, you're very welcome wtfreallyaus
Yea i know, I have had the same problem with some guildees and friends today with them getting stuck there. I figured you would have sent a ticket, but i certainly wouldn't have been like that about. Also yea, if you did exactly what you said and they still didn't answer you or try to help it's a problem...even after comments like that..but thats just my opinion.
Thank you as well rolandir, put a lot of thought into it and even went through the rules too first0 -

The mod that you are referencing has been taking on that role for a while now, and they have been a part of this community for years. I'm pretty sure they have some idea of what the rules are of the forums, considering they have over 3k posts and have been here for a long time.
It should also be noted that it's not a paid gig. They are doing this for free, while PWE staff lounge around and don't do a single thing, because PWE has pushed all their staff into the newer titles, and left one or two remaining as a part-time position for the neglected PWI community.
I'd say that as long as the issue of the 79 map not working was acknowledged, then problem solved? A PWE staff member will see it eventually, and/or it will be fixed before next maintenance, and/or it can be resolved in a ticket, and/or it can be resolved via PMs.I host an Ecatomb mirror here: ecatomb.gdevtalk.net
I've been actively playing since late 2008.

FYI, MODERATOR or MOD is only volunteer player who helps in forum, they got nothing to with PWI management.
If you got problem in game, send ticket so TECHNICAL SUPPORT can help you.

You do need to give them time to respond, forums mods do have lives, no one should be expected to refresh a website endlessly and reply to a pm so quickly. (Yes it's frustrating to wait, but 45 minutes isn't enough time, if you don't get a reply in 24-48 hours or so, then try again/try another mod/admin.

I am not saying I condone the behavior/arguable rude comments made at the expense of a few others, but yea you do need to give them time to respond to your pm's.Ah, Mistakes are so easily made. ~ laura resnick
What kind of message are you sending when you insult my intelligence? ~ Me ~ 5/29/2015 (Yes it is possible someone said this before just no idea who/where.)0 -
You think some of us didn't send tickets? I think you're mistaken hun. A bunch of us have.
As for paid or unpaid, shouldn't matter, if they are going to present an attitude of people looking for help WHEN THEY HAVE SENT TICKETS ALREADY, they shouldn't really have their mod status, in my opinion.
Also, popularity has nothing to do with this, and if they were "well known" in the forum rules, why was someone getting verbally abusived and treated like trash? They know the rules but yet they don't obey them, then shove them down people's throats?0 -
First things first, what Kossy said was not in violation of those rules. Although that rule is in place, this forum isn't run with an iron fist and some room for disagreement is allowed. She wasn't saying the person themselves were bad, she was saying that if you want an issue resolved, common sense dictates you state clearly what that issue is. She was a bit blunt but there is no rule that says that the moderators have to be nice and helpful. ON the contrary, the only thing a mod has to do is close and edit posts that violate rules. They don't even have to talk unless PM'ed directly and even then they don't have to respond to every PM they receive. They could just leave it to you to submit a ticket or talk to a different mod. We don't receive a paycheck for doing this, so if we want you guys to talk to paid staff instead of us, or to go MIA for periods of time. We are free to do so. Expecting a new PM after 45 minutes is a bit ridiculous. I typically respond within a few hours but sometimes it can take me 1-2 days.
Kossy has more posts than anyone on these forums, ever. Period. Even more than the posting robot. Because she has been a part of the community since Open Beta and has chosen to be helpful anyway. I (the other mod that closed the thread that informed you of the forum rules?) also be helpful because I want to be. I don't have to be, I choose to be because I enjoy helping the community. That's why I was made a moderator. Kossy and I are both players, all the mods are players.
You thread was closed because it violated this rule.
18. No public discussion about disciplinary action administered to members.
This rule applies to both in-game actions and forum actions. If you have any questions regarding in-game rules, disciplinary actions, user bans, etc., please contact the support team. If you have any questions regarding forum issues, please contact a moderator or the Community Manager via private message.
And this one will be as well. If you want to continue this conversation, then please send a PM. Otherwise I'm just going to keep closing this. I won't bother to respond to anymore threads created on this issue. As for 79, a GM has been contacted.0
