Endgame Gear

Hey guys b:bye
So I'm still relatively new to the game, but I'm getting closer and closer to endgame every day. I was just wondering what the best endgame gear would be for a lvl 100 or 101.
I've heard G16 and R9r mentioned but I'm not familiar with these terms. Anyone care to elaborate on what they are b:surrender
If it's any help, I'm an Archer so would need LA gear and a bow, and I'm on the DW server.
So yeah best gear, its price, and budget gear with its price would be good b:pleased

Budget gear = g16 (It really is the best, and cheapest gear available to us gamers, especially with nw) As far as the cost it varies, but it will cost you anywhere from 40m-80m per piece, and it will also depend on how well refined the piece is, if its refined really well it could cost you 150m per piece. (No ring required, and only 6 pieces needing to complete a set)
Total cost: Shouldn't be more than 900m give or take a few hundred mil, depending on how you go about it/find the right seller.
True end game gear = r9rr/r93r (which is rank 9, or r9... recasted twice.) The price for that varies as well, especially depending on the current gold prices at the time of purchase. Even though you are on my server, and I could do some checking, it would still take some time to figure out how much in game coin this would cost, but expect it to still be significantly more per piece, because in order to get r9rr, you first need to get r9, and where the cost will eat you the most is the GST, aka the General Summer Tokens, they were 7m per last I checked, and you need 205 gst (thats 1.4b for those alone) for a full set, gear, weapon, and ring, and you have to get the ring first before any other piece. You also need 300,000 rep just to equip the r9 gear. See this site for more info on this, and if you want to do the math yourself go ahead, as you can see you need more than just the aforementioned gst's.
That is also for the first step of r9 gear, I nearly forgot the costs of the raps, cannies, among other things to make an item r9rr, which if you want to r9rr something you need a mold for which can only mostly be farmed in warsongs... i believe there is a thread that states what you need to recast r9 gear. EDIT: Yes, here is the exact post about whats needed.
Total cost: TBD, but still, expect it to cost at least twice, maybe even 3 times that, even with the easier way to obtain the stuff needed to r9rr a piece of gear/weapon.
---
Its kind of extensive/exhaustive math, trying to figure out the exact cost of r9rr, but yea as I said expect it to be way more than what it would cost to get the g16 gear.
EDIT: For the record there are plenty of 'ways' to cut back on the costs of just outright buying the gear with in game coin, or real cash, but I must admit I don't know all the 'tricks' myself, and it would be easy to miss one or two. (Though the main way is via nation wars on Friday/Sunday... depending on your time zone/country... for the cannies/raps.) and hell some of them may very well be debatable to an extent.Ah, Mistakes are so easily made. ~ laura resnick

For full r9r3, starting from nothing (including 0 rep), without including refines or shards, you need:
Base rank 9:- 12,000 Wraith Officer's Badges to get to 300k reputation (sold in boutique for 50 badges / 45s off sale, 50 badges / 23s on sale)
- 205 General Summer's Tokens (made from 9999 Mysterious Chips each -- you can buy chips in the boutique for 1000 chips / 50s off sale, 1000 chips / 25s on sale)
- 19 Medals of Glory (bought from the boutique; 5 MoGs / 100G off sale, 5 MoGs / 50G on sale)
Total: 55.2g (rep) + 512.5g (GSTs) + 190g (MoGs) = 757.7g for base r9, on sale. Multiply by the current going price on your server to get the coin cost.
It will pretty much always be in your interest to buy the gold yourself (in the gold AH) and buy the items directly from the boutique instead of buying them with coins from catshops -- those catshops are there to make a profit by being a middleman that you don't need.
Upgrading to r9r2 (2nd cast) requires 9 Summerwind Tokens, which take 1.2k uncanny crystals and 300 rapture crystals each to make. The primary means of obtaining these crystals is through Nation Wars on Friday and Sunday nights (or buying from other players that get them this way).
Upgrading to r9r3 from r9r2 will cost you an additional 210 Basic Badges (which you get from farming Warsong (6 / run) and Lunar (3 / run); untradable), the respective molds for your gear (which drop from bosses in Warsong and Lunar; untradable) and 20 Essences of Defense (which drop from the final boss in Lunar) and 4 Essences of Offense (which drop from the final boss in Warsong). Re-rolling your gear for better stats will require additional badges and essences.
So, in summary, for full r9r3:- 757.7 gold
- 10.8k uncanny crystals
- 2.7k rapture crystals
- 210 basic badges
- Necessary molds
- 20 Essences of Defense
- 4 Essences of Offense
And this does not include gear re-rolls, refines, or shards. Note that "full r9r3" means you get one ring, chest, legs, boots, wrists, belt, and weapon -- it does not include helm, cape, neck, tome, or your other ring.
Full g16 is rather less straightforward to get (though you can straight up buy it from people if you really want), but much cheaper. That said, it also pales in comparison to r9r3 if you're planning on doing any serious PvPing -- but for PvE, g16 is more than sufficient.
(And, as above, note that "full g16" entails helm, cape, chest, legs, boots, wrists, and weapon -- rings, belt, neck, tome sold separately)Current: http://mypers.pw/1.8/#133167

Also be aware that some things do not have an R(ank) 9 variant. For APS BMs for instance, there is no R9 fist/claw.
There is also Rank 8, which is somewhat on-par (usually slightly better) then Rank 9 gear. And there are some Warsoul weapons which are also quite powerful, but I'm not sure how to obtain those...
To obtain G(rade = weaponlevel) 16 gear or R8, starts out the same. There's the cheap way that will lead to having bound gear, and there's the expensive way leading to unbound gear. Cheap path is to get Twilight Temple gear, which you have to repeatedly decompose to souledges to upgrade to the G12 (level 99) versions. After that, you can use Rapture cystals and Uncanny crystals to upgrade these to Grade 15 armor at the Nirvana forges (needs to be done 2 times - first time costs 100 uncannies for an armor piece, second time 150, unsure about the weapons but those take rapture crystals instead). At this point you have a choice:
-> R8 requires several Nation Wars tokens and 200.000 reputation.
-> G16 requires a mold, essence of defense/offense and a lot of basic badges
You can obtain basic badges by defeating the "Vile" bosses in the Lunar glade or in Warsong City. (Warsong is more efficient, gives 6 badges, Lunar will give 3. Lunar has a BH100 on it though).
Essence of Defense (EOD) is obtained from the final Lunar boss on vile.
Essence of Offense (EOO) is obtained from the final boss in Warsong City.
My advice would be that you get to G15 armor as soon as possible, refine it to +4 or so. Get a G16 weapon for the extra attack levels, it gives you a major offensive boost, and refine that weapon to +6 at least... That way you'll be able to support most parties and be powerful enough to handle a pavilion in Warsong.I'm so P.R.O... I Press Respawn Often.

Easiest overview in my opinion is visible on the pwiki, here are a few links:
Rank IX (R9)
Can be reforged twice into stronger versions:
R9r2
R9r3
Some people will call it R9, R9r1, R9r2, seems to differ per server. (Rank9 3rd cast Vs. Rank9 2nd reforge)
Rank VIII (R8)
Can be reforged once into a slightly stronger version (but totally random stats):
R8r
G16 armor (view Complect to see the full set)
G16 can be made from both Shadow Ashura (TT g15 armor) and Myriad Blossom (Lunar g15 armor). The benefit of lunar way is that your items are tradable, unlike Shadow Ashura (Twilight Temple/TT farmed) which will always Bind on Equip. That way you can always use the armor for a different toon/re-sell it when you go R9.
G16 bow
Your end-game bow pretty much untill you reach R9, try to aim for a roll with -int when you have the chance, it makes a difference.
with this info you should be able to figure out which way you're going, R9 is Boutique-only and when on sale roughly 750 gold.
R8 is a mere 200k reputation (35 gold orso on sale) and you can buy the basic weapon for 2mil, armor/legs for 1mil. hands/shoes have to be obtained more expensively.
G16 can be made with a mere 20-30mil per item if you farm the items, and buy a few you were lacking + do Nation Wars every week.0 -
Well, if you go look the real concept of "Endgame", you'll see that Lv 100+ R8/Nirvana and on gears are already Endgame.
Endgame is whatever you feel comfortable with and not thinking on changing.
For example, Endgame for a sin might be a simple aps r8r gears +10 with R9R3 +12 weapon.
Or normal APS gears +10 with +12 Weapon.
The real concept of "Endgame" is personal.
Now if you're talking about "top gears" then R9R3 +12, Crown of Madness, Wings of Ascension, NWRecast cube neck, NWRecast Skycover/Cloud Stir and full S/S+ war avatar double reawaken and max lv.
If you look really around, anyone with nirvana tier 1 gears +5 is able to do "Endgame" dungeons with ease, thus that is also part of the "Endgame". What most people confuse "Endgame" with is "PvP Gear", which are not the same thing.dougsenpai wrote: »Hey guys b:bye

G16 refers to Nirvana Tier 3 armors (There are equipment made with drops from a dungeon TT/Lunar, they're recast into nirvana using Nirvana's own materials, then recast again into a more powerful item and then recast to the third and last tier, the Tier 3 Nirvana (AKA G16))
Its a silly term since R9 Gears are also Grade 16, I usually call Nirvana Tier 3 instead.
R9R3 is the Tier 3 Rank 9 gears, which require 300k reputation and a LOT of $$$ to make. To recast into the Tier 2 you spend other whole lot of $$$ and then, from tier 2 to tier 3 you make it for almost free from doing WS runs.
Both sets are very powerful for PvE and PvP purposes, but the most important thing in this game is how well refined your gears are.
A great problem with this game is comparing weapons:
Nirvana Tier 1 Weapon +0 is stronger than TT99 +6~.
Nirvana Tier 2 Weapon +0 is stronger than Nirv Tier 1 +4~
Nirvana Tier 3 Weapon +5 is stronger than Nirv Tier 2 +10
Melee classes R9 Weapon +6 is stronger than Nirvana Tier 3 +10
R9R3 Weapon +0 is stronger than R9 Weapon +6~
So yeah...

If you are really going for PvP then sorry...there is no way to avoid getting full r9 at least full +10 with decent shards and a +12 weap.
PPL seem to confuse some things sometimes so I'm going to clear this up. Having just r9 gears is expensive as heck and know what? you will still get One shotted by nearly anyone with a +10+ weap. the gear alone (without refine and sharding and decent ornaments) is pretty useless. I saw lots of r9 lose to g16 peeps just because their refine and ornaments were just pitiful.
End-Game these days isnt really that much gear dependend. Lets say you got a decent war avatar card set and you are full +10 g16 and you fight against someone with full r9 full +10 without cards then chances are high that the g16 guy will win. Spirit is the key in these days PvPing. Well look up the war avatar system for further info.
All I'm saying is. If you hate being one-shotted then I suggest you go straight for full r9, decent ornaments, helm and cape and refine it all to plus 10 and shard it with the best you can afford/find. Not going to lie to you especially as an archer...you would prolly still be oneshotted on occasion. If you hate this to begin with...well better play another class or save the money and go to another game xDMy Barb:

Since when? ._. Archers can be one of the more annoying classes around there with their invisible arrows, ranged attacks and ninja-purges.
Survival we suck in any case even with r9r3, untill we josd or +10/12 everything.
Who-ever keeps saying "+10 everything" clearly took profit in the glitched code earlier, getting 800 mil coins isn't exactly the first thing on the list when you're still in <lv100 armors as OP states.0 -

DD classes more than ever now need r9rr to be competitive. Support classes can still skirt by to an extent in g16 depending on what you're trying to do, but even then...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

as many mentioned before, it depends on what your goals are.
if you just want to pve, then the free eu gear (endless universe, an instance in morai [map]) is enough already. you will have to compensate for your squishiness with your skill, and ppl might laugh at you at first, but once you prove to have the skills to survive with that gear in engame instances you might even get some kudos.
but if you want to pk as archer you MUST have a purge-bow. you are utterly useless without one. and to survive other endgame players you will not only need fully shared r9w+12 gear, but also decent s cards which will cost you dozens of billion coins in total. b:shocked
so, imo you should get familiar with the free eu gear first, before you consider farming or cashing that insane amount of coins.0 -
For my archer I chose full g16 with a T3 weapon and purge bow alternate(T2 Nirvy) as a PvE build it was more than enough, and when I PvPed with archer it was good, I've kept the armor but swapped out T3 bow for Warsoul Recast (cheaper than R9 and nearly as good) while keeping the purge alternate bow. Reason being for this choice is that 5 toons will use the bow endgame, and I 1. Challenged myself to build a viable 0 rank archer and 2. It's account stashable. Also why waste extra money for purge when with that much damage on a casual toon you don't need a purge primary. Despite low prox rate on the magic debuff combo with metal debuff when it procs and metal skills bring down HA relatively well.0

As others have said, it is dependent upon your playstyle. If you're looking more into PVP, you will need to go along the Rank 9 path, or the nirvana third cast (G16) to make it.
Viable endgame gear:
(Morai Level 101 gear): This is potential endgame gear, but only get this get for PVE. This gear isn't meant to survive in pvp, and you will be quickly destroyed if you try to. Nonetheless, this gear is very viable for pve.
Rank 8/Rank 8 recast. The rank 8 recast is the more powerful version. This path requires you to have 200,000 rep, and the coin to afford the gear. (The gear itself is not expensive. The rep can be.) This is not the greatest gear, but it is good enough to survive fairly well in pve, and against equally geared opponents, in pvp also.
R9 path: This has the regular rank 9, rank 9 recast, and rank 9 third cast. This is the Ultimate of paths, and also the most expensive of paths. With you being new to the game, this is unlikely to be your chosen path, but should you choose it, it will serve the best in pve and pvp.
(Note about Rank weapons and armor: They are guaranteed to have max sockets. This means 2 empty sockets in each weapon piece, and 4 in each armor piece.
G16: This is the nirvana third stage stage, stemmed from either lunar (tradeable) or Twilight Temple (Untradeable) gear.
If you are going the G16 path, you will need to know this....
TT: TT90 Green --> TT99 Gold -->G13 TT Nirvana --> G15 TT Nirvana --> G16 TT Nirvana.
Lunar: Level 95 gold lunar --> G13 Lunar Nirvana -->G15 Lunar Nirvana --> G16 Lunar Nirvana
The mats for Lunar and TT gear must be farmed, or bought from catshops. Alternatively, you can buy this gear from the auction house. Please note that if you have TT99 or Nirvana G15, DO NOT EQUIP IT, unless you have max blacksmith (for weapons) /Tailoring (For armor) rating. The reason being is that it takes Level 7 rating to forge this gear, and level 6 rating for nirvana. Therefore you want to get your TT gear to G15 as quickly as possible. The easiest way to do this is to get the appropriate amount of Raptures and Uncannies to enhance it by joining NW (Nation Wars). G15 is good gear, but not endgame. You CAN equip G15 gear once you have it because it only requires level 1 blacksmith/tailor to G16 your gear. Remember that TT gear Binds on Equip, so this is the reason why you want to avoid equipping it if your blacksmith/tailor level is too low.
G16 is the alternative to R9, as it boasts great power and potential, but simply lacks the power associated with R9. Both R9r3 molds, and G16 molds drop in Warsong and Lunar. EoO's are found in Warsong, whereas EoD's are in Lunar. You will need these to be able to forge your G16. You also need basic badge which is found after each vile boss in warsong and lunar.
Warsoul: Also endgame. This gear is very hard to obtain, and as a new player, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PATH...not obtaining your endgame gear anyways...
That said, I will say this....
PVE Only: Morai gear.
PVP: R9r3 is highly advisable, and failing that G16. If that's too difficult, R8.
PVE/PVP:
Rank 9 path. MOST EXPENSIVE THOUGH.
G16 Path: Takes time, but can be done and not for an insane cost.
Warsoul Path: Not recommended for a new player. Lots of work, and expenses required. VERY EXPENSIVE.
Rank 8: Biggest price is the rep. From there, this gear will serve you well.
Morai: (This gear is nice in PVE due to its warding levels. This means nothing in pvp, due to warding levels and slaying levels (Which morai boasts) being non factors in pvp.
Note: Gear alone won't cut it. You want to refine your gear decently. You want to shard your gear. (Nothing less than flawless, and go even better if you can.
You also want to look into rings, necklaces, tomes and belts. The archer section may have better details. Also, as others have said, a purge bow helps."Male Player using female toon. Please don't flirt with me."

This^ I actually recommend morai order gear if PvE only, and even if you want to pvp and are free to play, it makes a great start for farming the PvE runs (TT/Warsong/Cube [note: some rooms of cube are PK enabled even on PvE server]) to achieve PvP gear like G16, at which point the options open up a bit more (NW for Warsoul Recasted/Upgraded ornaments etc)
I recommend finishing all your culti and getting Blood Vow and Awaken as well, they'll both be useful farming your TT/Warsong runs and in some PVP Situations.
Never forget hall the fun is in farming your armor, and the excitement when you get that shiny new piece.0 -
R9rrr is OP with Decent refine..
But still defend on your playstyle.. im a Noob archer in LC with full G16 gear and have no problem at all doing instances and sometime small scale of pvp in SP. if you will go for PVP and can afford to get r9rrr go. go. go. and dont forget to learn your classb:pleasedNo Pain, No Gain.0
