Do you lose exp when you decompose your genie?

All the guides I read said you get an exp cube equal to the exp your genie has earned, which made me assume once I got a new genie I could launch them back to the same level the last one was on. But I just used it all from a level 61 genie on a new one and it's only level 24 and the exp cube is tapped out! What gives?

I expect Decus or some other forum maths wiz could explain the exact ratios involved, but in short, yes, when you decompose a genie and use the resulting cube to infuse another genie, you lose exp

    Don't think so.

But when you use the cube on another Genie.

If they are not the exact same level or 1 level difference (i don't remember exactly)
You don't get the fulll xp transfer.

So if you had a genie decomped @ lvl 100 and were putting it into a lvl 100 genie, then you get like 100% xp transfer.

But if you put it into a Genie lvl 70, then you might get like 70% of the actual XP.
(not sure exact %s or numbers for it though)

For more info read the pwi wiki guide. As I remember, you do lose exp when you decompose; the exp that goes into the exp cube is related to the amount of exp earned since the genie last levelled up, you most definitely do NOT get all the exp you put into the thing since 'birth'

This is correct. I don't recall the exact logistics in it offhand either, but if you have a level 61 genie cube, you're only going to get a 100% transfer rate on those exp points to a level 61 or higher genie. Below that there's a declining return, but I don't know what the numbers are and can't look cause I'm at work.

    Some formulas are here

I am not going to decompose a genie to check but I was under the impression that a level 61 genie when decomposed would produce a cube with the amount of XP required to get from 60 to 61, plus whatever XP it currently had in the XP bar, not any of the XP from 1-60.

Yeah, this is what I was trying to remember lol

In my experience, leveling genies is best done with your own exp up to about 20-30, then I prefer sp. I only really use cubes rarely, and then to top up my own main genie. Mostly I sell genies that don't get enough lp
