Dyeable wings/wing makeover scroll

One of my favorite aspects of PWI is the amount of character customization that's permitted, from your original avatar to the available dyeable fashions. However, the ability to customize wings beyond what type of wings you use is nonexistent.

The title says most of what needs to be said, really. Color-customizable pets/rides do exist so I imagine making dyeable wings couldn't be too...much...harder...right? I'm a graphic designer, not a game creator- all I have to do is move a hue slider in Photoshop and voila, new color.

The 'Wing Makeover Scroll' idea is really just another method of going about this. I don't know whether this would be easier to implement or not- it's just another suggestion of how to go about making color-customizable wings. However, this method would potentially provide more possible color options/combinations, something I'd personally prefer.

The above idea (quoted) doesn't conform with the goal of only adding a few new color-customizable wing types properly as you'd expect a makeover scroll to change the color of ANY wings you own. (Thanks OPKossy for pointing this out!)

It is possible that it could be treated similarly to hair color, with there being some hairstyles/wings that aren't affected by your chosen hair/wing color and others that are.

I do want to mention that I would prefer this type of option on high-speed wings. (If I wanted 2.5 speed wings I'd get seraphim wings and be done with it.)

I did search for threads promoting this type of idea and found two- one was from 2009 and the other was from 2011 so I'm fairly certain it's safe to promote this idea again.

I like this if only because you used the search button AND didn't necro the old threads you found. XD


Though it'd probably be limited to a few specific aeros much like how only a few specific mounts can be dyed. China seems to have a thing for releasing recolors as "ZOMG BRAND NEW ITAMZ" and this would hurt their ability to make a quick buck from that.

Haha thanks, I've been on enough different forums that I actually read forum guidelines and ToS kinda stuff before I post stuff because it's no fun getting reprimanded for something you thought was fine. ^^;

Yea that was the idea, there's no reason to add this to existing items, just with new ones that have the option. But thanks for bringing it up, especially since I now realize the wing makeover scroll idea doesn't fit that goal properly; it would most likely apply to all existing wings and it sounds like it would be a nightmare to set all the existing wings up that way. o_o;
