What class to play and how?

Hey guys, I'm a player who has just come back from a very long break and am wanting to get back into the game. I was just curious as to what class I should really play and how I should play it. (I'll mainly be farming if that helps.)

MageMERC - Harshlands

....no, that doesn't help much.

Describe you likes/dislikes, playstyle, preferences when thinking melee/ranged/magic, pve v pvp and the amount of time and money you will be injecting into the game......and anything else you can think of.

Zanryu - Lothranis

Any class.

Domethies - Raging Tide

Make a psychic, give it claws, auto attack everything b:chuckle

CapnK - Sanctuary

Mystic is a really good class for solo play/farming. Assassins can farm low-level instances faster but mystic can do a wider variety of things.

MasterPerian - Lost City

Doesn't matter what class you play you will eventually feel the same way about all of them. Get a box, piece of paper and write down the characters. Then proceed by cutting a hole in the box top and throw all the pieces of paper in there. Now shake the box well and grab a piece of paper. Oh look! you now know what to play b:victory

Sevchenko - Dreamweaver

You should play the class you like the style better.

Only sin has 2 different styles and are so contradictory, but overall on pvp you'll face:

sin-boring class,just hit stuff,no skill what so ever..well unless you use bp.

Bm-stupid class just stupid,chest all poked out,hands bent like they got hardcore arthritis.

Barb-If you wanna take all day to kill something.Warning:pack a lunch.

seeker-samething as barb,seekers are just pretty light shows really.

Mystic-Why even make this class,its stupid just a veno that can give balls and throw up some stinkin heals,rarely seen in squads,Devs need to take them out.

archer-stick to shooting at targets on a pole cause this class is so stupid,HOLY dang stupid omg lol stupid.

Cleric-stick to your appointments because the only good thing about clerics is they a elf and elves make toys.

psy-stick to palm reading cause you dumb as hell.

Veno-are transvestites,cannot be trusted,always wanna pick up every stinking thing on the map or try to get you to run stupid instances and kil leverything around so they can pick up more ****..im serious its a mental condition.

Wiz-start doing magic hat shows cause yall suck at everything else.


I guess that covers it,so just pick your poison,try out all classes.Reroll reroll and reroll all to 100+ and just be swamped with dailies everyday because that's all your gonna be doing anyways.

Unless you join the 1grand -20grand club each of these classes can become hacks and even then your like why did I spend so much...(talking to yourself 30 years down the road still paying on the game)b:laughb:bye

I think is better for you to just uninstalled the game b:bye

Every class have its own merit/demerit. I suggest try playing one class, learn it skills.

As you lvling it to higher level, you will have chance to see other people using other class, observe and learn, then you will know which class is more suitable for you.

In my case, I like tanking and debuffing for in squad play, so I mainly use BM or Seeker. b:pleased

If by 'farming' you mean 'farming instances', then BM can do this earlier than Sin. Sins only get good at farming at higher levels.

BM can pull, stun and aoe well from mid levels and tank well due to buffs and marrows. Switch from axe to claws and kill bosses much faster than seekers.

I could say that about any class.

Im veno- i mostly leave squad first so i don't get any of those **** in my inventory, because im lazy to go to npc them

Sad thing is he's probably not played in years. Uninstalling the game unfortunately does *not* exclude you from the forums, which are populated 75% with people who don't play the game anymore. Sweet Jesus, if you hate the game so much that you don't play anymore, give the f*ing planet a break and stay away from the forums and go back to Minecraft or GameBoy, where you don't have to deal with n00b "other people".

That's so something I always say in Threads with people who 'quit' or begin to rant about how much the game is terrible for them and brings them unhappiness.

On Topic: Nobody can know better than you how you like to play. Read every possible thing about every class until either your brain fries or makes a decision, really. It's what many did and they're quite pleased with their main toon now.

Hisiala - Morai

Blademaster: If you like melee and to deal damage while being able to survive well enough, go for it. BMs have the best stun in the whole game, have Heaven's Flame to increase damage inflicted on bosses and have nice defense buffs. If geared well, they are able to tank things.

Wizard: Hit them from afar (and hard since you're at it) while they are busy with the meaty tank. Only problem is that they are a bit slow on the channel, but hey! Between knockback and seal, you get to kill most of your targets before they reach you!

Barbarian: If you like to tank stuff without worrying about having to dish out massive damage till endgame gear, go for them. They got hp and physical attack buffs and a few other tricks up their furry sleeves.

Venomancer: I could write pages on this class because I love it and it is my main, but I will limit myself on saying that this can be considered a "solo class" thanks to the pet. The pet tanks, you get to heal it and dish out some damage to speed up things. And you get amplify damage and purge. And a few other nice curses.

Archer: the physical version of a wizard. Hit them from afar and hard. I don't know much about them, but in NW I always say "THAT archer!" because I get killed by them a lot.

Cleric: They are nice and all, but don't get them pissed. Not only will they stop healing and purifying you, but also put you in a coma or freeze you on the spot. Only to have you watch them cast a series of offensive spells on you. If you're not lucky, you get to sleep long enough for them to sleep you once you finally wake up. Also, they don't need health pots.

Mystic: once I read someone on the forum label the mystic as "the love child of a veno and a cleric". Which is basically true since they have a "pet" system too and can heal. They got plants too, for added stuff like debuffing or healing. They have a resurrect buff that is really nice. They are not clerics, but they are good substitutes when you can't find one.

Seeker: I don't really know much of them. I think they are a melee class with a few ranged and elemental spells. I think they have a few debuffs, but... I guess you'll have to play it to figure it out.

Psychic: I know them to hit hard and sometimes a little too much and get agro from bosses. If I'm not mistaken, they have black/white voodoo to adjust their attack/defense.

Assassin: They are everywhere. EVERYWHERE! I think everyone likes them because of stealth, bloodpaint and a few other things I am learning as I play mine. But yeah. They are everywhere...



Naturally this is how I see the classes and you should play them to figure out which one you like the most. Also, I have to point out that with the right gear you can pretty much do 90% of the stuff in the game alone, no matter what class you are.

EDIT: Silliness aside, it really depends on a few things, I.E.. and perhaps most important, which class after looking at them all, do you feel fits you the best? Is it a class that is get in your face and try to whack the opponent be it a player or mob? If so, pick a Barb, Assassin, Blademaster Or is is a class that is able to dish out a lot of damage from a far? Archer, Cleric, Mystic, Wizard, Psychic Or perhaps both? Venomancer, Seeker (There is far more to each of their roles.) There is also the little quirks of each class that would be useful to know when trying to suggest/figure out which class to 'play.' I.E are you capable of actually gearing it up, do you plan on pvping with it?

There really is a lot of things to consider/too many things to cover to really answer this question each time it comes up.

The truth of the matter is that we aren't you we don't know what you like/dislike, and even if there was some ultimate guide/list to fill out on which class 'you' should play there is bound to be something that wasn't covered on that guide, that may very well be enough to make you shy away from the class. Not to mention some of the questions/answers are bound to have different opinions/there will also likely be certain scenarios where the answer you get that was listed will have a time where it is completely the opposite. I.E Certain classes are far better off in solo pvp, than mass pvp, and certain classes seriously need badass gear to really survive mass pvp for a reasonable amount of time, especially in this day and age.

Sin is still best for - FC & TT

Seeker is best for - Lunar & Delta
