Storm Dance - Underwhelming damage?

I recently upgraded my Weeping Breeze Dance to Storm Dance. I used it in Power Rankings and loved it. b:victory

The difference being: an upgrade from "plus 3500" to "plus 8776"

But in testing it in pvp, I've had mixed results. I like to duel with friends and I frequently used Weeping Breeze Dance on Heavy Armor classes. I am very sure that Storm Dance is doing the same damage as Weeping Breeze Dance had before, if not less.

After seeing it on a r9rr Barbarian for the same damage (16k crit) as I had done with Weeping Breeze Dance before (no debuffs) I became confused.

I used it later on a r9rr Seeker, and the crit I made with it was 12.1k, but since I was keeping in mind the potential oddity of Storm Dance, I tried a Lucky Break + Nature's Vengeance, and hit for 12.4k! For MORE! What? b:shocked

To show on the flipside, I used Storm Dance on a fellow T3 Mystic, and subsequently one-shot him for 8k b:shutup not what I was expecting...

I now have to wonder if Soulforce is now a deciding factor in the damage. Has any other Mystic noticed this, or more hopefully noticed otherwise? Share your experiences below please, I'm very curious.

    I haven't rebirthed for a second time yet, but I heard mystics saying the damage in Devil Chihyu and Storm Dance are acting funny. I was talking about it with Algiz a while back and the only explanation I could find for it is the same as yours - somehow soulforce is affecting it.

    We're psychics now b:avoid
    We are not now that strength which in old days
    Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
    One equal temper of heroic hearts,
    Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
    To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

    PvP has way too many variables to test damage. Soulforce has nothing to do with our damage, that much is easy to figure out.

    With that been said I have just tested it on the Rankings mob, accounting for all adds I can think of including spirit, titles and meridians, and it would seem you're right. The constant damage added is still 3500 instead of the written 8776.

    That's really troubling. Guess I'll make a thread in the Quality Corner about it.

    Thank you, Alexis. That sounds a lot more like what happened. You're very right, pvp has too many variables. Also, thank you for the quality corner post! b:kiss I sure hope it isn't intended
