Gnn to Nirvana - say what?

When someone asks for weapon recommendations, the reply is usually "G15/16 then nirvy".

That doesn't mean anything to new players. Searching the PWI database for G15 or G16 returns no hits.

From what I know, 'G12' applies to weapons and armour you get from completing the initial Morai quests. This gear has 'slaying and warding' level bonuses that makes it good for PvE but poor for PvP. It is level 95 gear.

I believe that G15 can be obtained from npcs in Morai, if you have enough prestige (earned from doing daily Morai quests). It is level 101.

How do you get 'G13'?

I think most people are pretty good at writing it as "G15/G16 Nirvana" while others just say first/second/third stage Nirvana.

To answer your question, the G13 you're talking about probably refers to the lvl100 Morai gear obtained via Endless Universe (the chest rewards at the end have a chance to give you an item used to obtain gear pieces). Before EU became a BH, nobody was running it thus people forgot this gear exists.

There's no reason to get said gear anymore really, just stick to TT90 or lvl95 Morai and then move on to Nirvana gear.

I think Desdi is missing the point... I've been confused by this myself. "G15" stands for "Grade 15" or level 15 gear. From my understanding, for armor this means you will want to have specific Lunar Glade yellow armors, or Twilight Temple level 95 equipment. These can then be upgraded in steps.

    For instance: Twilight Temple upgrading:
Mountcrasher Armor (TT90) -> Lionheart Plate (TT99) -> Nirvana: Lionheart Armor (Nirvana, G15) -> Lionheart Armor (Nirvana, G15) -> Rank 8 (using Dragon Den stuff) OR Awakened Lionheart Armor (Nirvana, G16)

    I'm so P.R.O... I Press Respawn Often.

Ulsyr 103/103/104 BM. Working on the last R9 part (Axe).
Khelvan 103/103/103 LA Cler. LA? LA. Deal with it.
Evryn 103/102/101 Sagely Mystical Myst of Mystiness.
    Gromth 102/102/102 Sage Panda.

As Evryn said G15 stands for 'Grade 15'... Same with G13 -> Grade 13 and so on
The higher grade the armor/weapon is, the higher grade shards you can imbue and have (usually) a higher refine rate as well.
Since nirvana armor is the most common gear for people to get nowadays, I believe most people that only say forexample 'g16 weapon' will actually mean '3rd cast nirvana weapon' besides R9+ is grade 16 as well... But people would never say G16 weapon instead of R9 weapon, besides R9 is actually grade 16 as well.
When people say grade of a gear I believe it is (in most cases) refering to nirvana enquipment, just because it's so common for people to get. If there is talk about another type of gear (like morai gear) people will usually be more specific, saying either grade or level enquipment + saying 'morai'... Forexample 'Lv101 Morai weapon' or 'G15 Morai weapon'

By the way, G13 Morai weapon and armor is optained by doing EU (not AEU)

Most people specify and if you need clarification just ask. Either way, it is very obvious usually. Rank gear is never referred as g15 and g16 in normal chat. It is referred to as R9, R9s2, R9s3 (or R9r and R9rr depending on server) and R8 and R8s2 (R8r). G16 almost always refers to G16 nirvana. G15 can refer to stage 2 tt or lunar nirvana, that takes specification. G13 is commonly nirvana stage 1 gear. And G12 is almost never mentioned because morai gear is uncommon and bad, and it is usually referred to as morai gear. Anything below that is not referred to by grade basically ever, it is TT99 or TT whatever level requirement the gear is.

This really should not be an issue. Especially considering you are arguing that new players are struggling to understand this. If you are new, you shouldnt be already considering this high level gear as you start from level 1 >.> If you play and learn, you figure things out quickly. If you powerlevel to 100 with no actual learning of course you will struggle as you should. Just take the time to ask a clarifying question and problem solved.

I'm not exactly new and definitely haven't powerlevelled.

When someone asked in (mystic) forum for lvl100 gear, the response was along the lines of "go G15 then nirvy" which isn't exactly very specific!

I've trawled through the pwi db and even that isn't very clear about the 'best' or 'most affordable but decent' weapon.

They probably meant to get Nirvana G15 gear (aka second cast Nirvana) and then use it to make the G16 gear.

For example, you'd start with one of the TT99 weapons, upgrade it to a Nirvana Grade 13 wand, then take that to the Nirvana Grade 15 wand, and then finally get that upgraded to the Nirvana Grade 16 wand.

There are multiple ways to get to the G16 of your choice when it comes to armor, and even more when it comes to weapon. However, those can be figured out without much issue.

If you're curious while searching pwdatabase. Just use the word Nirvana as your search term and you'll find the G13 weapons. For armor, they follow the same pattern of weapons with all being a level 100 requirement to wear, the Grade 13 ones having Nirvana in their name, Grade 13/15 are both orange with two stars while 16 is Yellow with 1 star. Also, grade 16 armors will have "Awakened" in their name.
