If I read this right...it's born in 1970, month in Chinese, and and 08 as the day of the month for your birth year as stated on account. Some people won't like this being in the open.

Also there's another line above this...assuming I read it all right it's:

Level:
Position:
(New, in Chinese):
Birth: year/month/day

And people can make fake accounts with a false age and others will believe they are that age, aka the "find a lover, under 18" issue all over again.

Just saying. What's your thoughts?

PWI is basically a social game. People have personal info everywhere now online. This isn't a huge a problem to worry about imo. Anyone can lie about their info regardless if that info is there or not. You've never seen people in World chat rage about someone scamming them. Someone they thought they knew and trusted. When it was really a 45 year old male playing a female mystic. b:chuckle

Last logged: new entry, and it's actually a useful thing to keep track who's active or who retired.(and since will be displayed in fl and guild list duhhh i don't see any problem) and use this one as a refference, it has the same exact characters since that 70 sounds like a typo.

its the default since jan 1st 1970 is the start of the clock for linux systems, depending on time zone it can display as dec 31, 1969 , its the system used for the system clock/calculating the current time, so yah those values are a dead giveaway for a "last login" field

It's funny. I wonder how many people here who post "concerns" over privacy issues have facebook pages where they dump all kinds of **** about themselves and everyone they're involved with online for the rest of the world to see. Considering that I believe most people in PWI sign on to get Jones blessings I think it's a hypocritical concern.

LOL! no facebook page or anything else on the internet is private regardless of how many checkboxes making the page set to private are selected. Once that info is transmitted from your PC to a server the person who sends it has absolutely no control over what the administrators do with it. I've done work as a private investigator researching people on Facebook and you'd be surprised how easy it is to get info from other people's accounts legally to be used in a court of law against them. We do this all the time, mostly for infidelity and child custody issues. It's not private and it's easy to get around those settings legally. The **** that people post online about themselves is mindboggling and the thought of it all being private is laughable.

So, when you are so concerned about how this game uses the info it collects from the users regarding privacy I suggest that you reread the TOS and fully comprehend what they assert their rights are with your info Also understand that the info you give them if by your own choice and you can control the info that is given. I do.

If you really want to be freaked out research what Google is doing. Read their ToS for email, use of their search engine, use of their cloud computing, etc. Just the other day I read an article about how users of Google Glass will be able to look at some random person on the street and Google's facial recognition software app in the device will link to and display that person's entire criminal history without them even knowing the wearer of the appliance is doing that. Could be fun for going on dates, right?
