New Pyroshell Question

So according to the translations on the forums, it looked like the new fire barrier was going to increase crit rate by 15%, but the description at the forge is mentioning an increase in rage damage rather than increase in crit rate. I'm just wondering if anyone knows for sure which it is (probably from pw-cn), or if whoever gets it first on pwi would let us know. If it in fact does increase crit rate, I'll be saving up for that next, but rage damage isn't nearly as good imo.. and I'd probably want to get all the passives and stuff first if that were the case.

I'm not on atm, but you could try looking into the erm...
Encyclopedia, then open skills, search for pyroshell and look up the description of the actual skill when learned.

    It's most likely crit rate.

It's the same as that there's a bad description about the demon skill that merges twin and ribstrike, where it says attack rate will increase by 125%, while in fact it slows the enemy's attack rate by 125% (in pvp situations)

So most likely it's another translation error. Much like how power dash was always described as increasing rage damage by 40% instead of crit rate.

This would seem to be correct.

So pretty much what you want is someone to test-drive because you are in doubt?

In the thread where players translated the skills themselves from the official PWCN skill tree it was also translated to 15% critical hit rate.

I'm pretty sure it's safe to say it's crit rate and not rage damage.

Historically the books have fewer errors than the skill descriptions. I wouldn't dismiss the chance of it actually being rage damage.

Ok then lets look at the book from China:
    Clickety click clack

Does that not say CRIT rate on the book?

I just wanted a confirmation that the skill worked one way or the other (more as a tie breaker). It sounds like it is probably the crit rate, but would still like to know for sure if anybody gets it.

Good point. I compared it to the wolf emblem book to be sure and the CN book does not say rage damage.

PWI would be off their rocker to give the hardest hitting class in game rage damage.

They do, though, with base buffs.

Rage damage on a wiz would be pointless, since wizzies don't crit all that much. Adding 15% crit chance does, however, roughly double their chances of critting, which means that their average damage goes up far more than it would if they got rage damage.

I know this thread is a month old and I don't know if I'm the first, but today I finally got the new Pyroshell.

    To clarify stuff:

    1) It does increase critical RATE by 15% indeed.

    2) It stacks with sage BIDS or any other critical rate increasing effect.

    3) Have fun. b:dirty

So I noticed that the new Pyroshell actually doesn't give the HP regeneration anymore, even though it still says it in the description.

Just as a little extra notice, the crit rate is definitely worth losing that bit though. b:laugh
