you know what i do when some1's messes up my bot?
i leave them trail of coins in the middle of boss fight instead of healing them
or if im tanking then i say im lagging just so some people can steal agro and die multiple times...
so think twice before messing up random people bots, revenge is way more fun than messing with afk bot b:laugh

If you're actually there to monitor who's messing with your bot... why are you using the bot again? It's hardly efficient or useful when you're actually there.

And when you aren't there unless someone sends you a message or talks about it, you aren't going to know who messed with it if/when it happens so....

Your post leaves me concerned about if I bump into you in a random squad. b:sweat

i got 2 computers so i can see who keeps bringing aoe bosses to my bot and now with all the exams i barely have time to actively play the game. and losing exp on low lvl bot is nothing compared to killing high lvl main (especially now when there are reborns and people need their exp).
so yeah...if you think it's fun to kill bots then make sure you can buy enough guardian scrolls incase they weren't afk and plan to kill you

None of which can protect you from the most common intrusions: A backdoor connecting from your secure network outward, something that's typically not restricted. Although in my case I've taken an interest in monitoring outbound traffic too... never know when an app decides to connect to somewhere questionable.

But back on track. Stalling out bots with a trail of 1GP in case you need the mobs yourself is an easy way to put autoculti of others on pause. Saw good old Hornska eat 3 rebirthers today... sometimes the master of the herd tends to his flock. Didn't even have to lure that one. Silly archers poking their arrows where they don't belong... Heh.

According to Hollywood, even if your computer wasn't connected to anything else it could be **** by some guy halfway across the world! Stupid people who set their bots to 500m deserve to be led away into a dark corner, I do it all the time to get them away from me, especially r9rr that leave it at 500m because they want all the mobs and can out dd you. My bot has a 60m range and does fine. 110m and 1.3k event gold since 23rd december just grinding spiders. Keep your area small and your profits big

Spiders and Goothes are being botted by half the server.

Sure its kinda fun following the idiots around when their bags are full picking up drops, and getting them to auto attack blizzard king...but it would be more fun if there were some world boss action.

I mean you trolls kill catshops for the lulz right? But not botters?

Probably because half the bots I see are from TW factions, and the other half are already dead b:shutup

I like to play and farm... but -- I also need to eat, and want to drink some tea, or take a break and check my email or ... run to the ladies room... run to the store.

I think the most I've every set my girl for her PWI-Botter, is 1 hour when I ran to the store and I was soooo afaid she got hurt (no, she was fine and teled to city).

I guess I've very protective of her - so I'm happy with just monitoring her as she does her thing.

Kinda offtopic, but some defense strategies against bot-trolling for long time AFKers:

- Out of the way area: If you're not found, you'll not get harassed. Running on autoculti in an instanced area means you'll be safe for sure - though I don't know of any instances with respawning mobs. Running it in an area where few players will ever come by means you'll likely not even be noticed.
- Pickup to none. That'll prevent coincloud trolling, but you'll not make much from it.
- Know where the bosses are and what their max range is. Someone luring a boss out of it's range and into your auto attack usually means you either die or end up with a severely depleted guardian charm. Stay out of bossranges, and definately don't set autoculti where worldbosses spawn. Unless you don't care about dying.
- Set your bot to a reasonable range and try to avoid overlapping where other people are already busy. If you see a clump of enemies somewhere, that's a good bet that that area isn't being used (respawning tends to cause mobs to end up in a tight cluster over time)
- Don't select a set of mobs that non-botting players frequently need. If your autoculti char is annoying, there's a bigger chance people will try to get rid of it somehow.
- Have PK protection active. That's a nobrainer. Or should be.

Interesting you said this - the day the PWI-Botter came out, I made a legion calleed: AFKers. Mainly, because I have a baby barb that hunts Hay, and a baby Sin to get Oil and other small drops for crafting.

I wanted to identify them as AFK-botting, so... came up with this legion name.

I do monitor them, but see now I can log my main and them - vice trying to decide which to do...farm for tiny resellable items or farm on my bigger toon.

The bulk of my profits are actually from farming what other people buy.

-- Like your tips. I do find out of the way areas, I do monitor and I do ensure others are not already in the area and it's generally less traveled zone.

I also like farming air and water mobs on my baby Barb, because so few have selected them to grind on.
