No loot off of bosses?

Hey guys, I've been tagging along on some Qingzi runs to grab some Duke Sin gear, but on about half the kills he doesn't drop any loot. What I'm wondering is, is it know what conditions causes this or it completely random as far as dungeon bosses go?

Logically, I'd say it was because a higher level character was helping me, but I've had varying results. For example:

1) Lv49 reborn character kills him for me with me in room, no loot. Same character kills him while I'm outside the dungeon (still in group) and he drops a few Duke items.

2) Lv80+ character (not sure if reborn) kills a FB19 boss and he dropped like 7 of the Minister items.

3) Lv60+ character kills a different FB19 boss for me and it dropped 0 items.

    Luck is still a factor.

    I've killed the same bosses multiple times on the same characters while farming for Neuma and drops have ranged from too much **** for me to carry it all to absolutely nothing.

    id be inclined to think that the special bound gear is dropped whenever a boss will give nuema. on practically every run ive done to farm T1-2 nuema the bosses have dropped the gear/weps.

    Nah that's not it, I've seen Nuema on every kill even when there's no other loot.

    yup, i have killed bosses & just Neuma has dropped, nothing else
