Gear lock question

If a player has a bank/gear lock password, but is wearing non bound gear. Can he or she still drop armor, aerogear, and tomes when they are pink or red named while in pk mode?

I know its a silly question to ask, but I honestly don't know the answer to this b:surrender.

    I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong but bank/gear lock only protects items you have equipped. Anything you have in your inventory may drop.

    It's easy to test. Log with bank/gear lock in effect and try to remove the items you ask about. If you are not prompted for a password then they can drop from PK.

    I've seen many players do this.. set lock for 30 mins, then PK and while lock is active you wont drop any gears..

    I think the OP is refering to the password set with the banker. I know with the safety lock (aka changing the timer from 1 minute to whenever) you won't drop. But, by setting a password with the banker you cannot remove any gear you have on and because of that it won't drop in PK.

    I'm pretty sure ornaments, armor, and weapon does not drop. I've never tested with tomes, fashion, and fly mounts but think they are also protected until you enter your password. I DO KNOW that anything you have in your inventory can drop. Its happen to me once, dropped NPC pots. In fact, to be a little f:poo I will purposely fill my each inventory slot with one of the lowest slingshot bullets.

    @ the OP,
    Just remember that if you enter you banker's password you need to completely logout to reactivate it and protect the gear you have on. Going back to the character selection screen is not enough.

    Banker password does not protect gear in PvP.

    Safety lock does, but when using it, remember that you have to wait 72 hours to change it back.
