Warsoul Distract

After not finding any definitive answers on the PWI site or outside of it, I decided to test the distract proc on my warsoul bow because I was curious as to how effective it was. I was testing it mostly on HA and LA because that is where the proc would be most useful.

Even though I did come up with a good set of data numbers while testing, I have yet to determine what exactly the debuff is based on. I have not been able to find what the common factor for the debuff is; for all I can figure PWI is just pulling a random number out of thin air and saying here is the debuff. What I did find is that while the debuff amount will vary from person to person (and sometimes greatly), on the same individual it always took the same amount of their defense off no matter how many times it proced. Also distract is not effected by buffs, what ever it takes off when you have no buffs it will take the same when buffed.

As to the amount I was getting a steady average on HA/LA of between 40-50% of their base elemental defense. What I found most odd is that the debuff is not a standard percentage, it doesn't take the same percentage off everyone. But it was always within that 40-50 range and on a HA class that is a significant drop.

Now what does all of this mean? One it tells me that the distract proc is not as useless as some people think. Also due to distract's high proc rate if you were to team up two archers, one with a purge bow and one with a warsoul bow, together they could take down anything. The warsoul bow is a perfect compliment to the purge bow.

I still have all the data I collected from testing and if anyone has an idea how distract decides to debuff, feel free to shout it out and I'll test it. If I can figure out exactly how it determines the amount it will reduce by, I will update this for everyone to know.

I looked to the stars, my aim true.
Heart peirced, the light flowed.
And from the dust of Sagittarrius,
I crafted a bow.

Debuffs apply to equipment mres which is lower than your unbuffed mres.

Your unbuffed mres includes mres from vit and mag. More specifically vit increases your unbuffed mres by 0.08% per vit and mag by 0.12% per mag.

The easiest way to figure out what's your actual equipment mres is probably to see how much cleric magic shell raises your res by and divide that difference by 0.6.

For characters with low vit and low mag like typical LA builds this should still be close to your unbuffed mres but vit builds and mag builds will have unbuffed mres significantly higher than equipment mres.

From your description though it sounds like distract lowers mres by 50% equipment mres. This would almost remove a cleric buff (which adds 60%, leaving 10% left). Of course spirit blackhole also removes that cleric buff... distract would only be better against already purged targets.

Or if the proc rate is higher than purge by a certain amount.
