TBH I think I'm one of the only people who have ever posted a video of a duel where I was outgeared, made mistakes, and lost. Most vids I see are like +12 sins pk'ing TT99 geared players...and there's really absolutely nothing to learn from those vids.

It might surprise some, but in an actual fight people tend to make a LOT of mistakes and wrong guesses. The "good" players are just those who can recover from them faster/better, and recognizes/takes advantage of opportunities quickly and decisively. But it takes an unbiased eye to actually see them, because we tend to rationalize our own choices after the fact.

Also Boomz outgears Longknife by a bit, but he also kinda sucks at playing wiz optimally, so imo it was an equally matched duel.

It still doesn't take away the fact that he made a very good play at the end, and tbh I'm not really interested in watching a vid where a player dies because they ran out of charm or w/e.

I have losses in my video.
I support putting in losses, but only if the fight was well fought. Putting in multiple scenes of getting 1 shot for example, is a waste of frames IMO.

Also both are R9rr +12 weapon, but Boomz has +10 armors while long has +7/8 or so, so he outgears him slightly.

Couple things cause yeah had a feeling someone would point that out:

1) This is a general beef I have with people on our server. People are too afraid to fight fights where it's not a perfectly ideal situation. They go out of their way to set things up just right for them, then run SZ if it doesn't happen. That's great, but SZ doesn't exist in TW or NW, or you'd lose for trying to hug them.


2) Ultimately, it's my advantage because yes, if we spend time dicking around with him healing and me in white, I build chi waaaaay faster and can still stack him with debuffs and DoTs (if I choose) before going black. In that sense, it's sort of just delaying the inevitable. I mean tbh he would've built chi faster if he didn't spam heal on himself and instead just attacked mobs or whatever.


3) You can't really tell or see in this fight, but I WAS being more aggressive than I should've been. AKA I'd switch black without full chi or the like. Why? Cause I don't really see the point in a 1v1 where we basically do -not- move a muscle or make a serious attempt until it's an absolutely optimal situation. Hell, my last 1v1? A Psy that outgeared me. The result? Dude camped white and SoSt and ran around like a pansy until his IG came off cooldown to try to kill me in black.

Sometimes fights where players are absolutely unwilling to take risks? Simply don't end. That's why I'm annoyed with his choice to spam heal because it's like either I a) say "fine ok I'll take a risk so we can get on with our lives" or b) I still gain an advantage from superior chi-building and DoTs, but it just takes thaaaaat much longer to coax pot and genie from him. To me, that setup is one where wiz needs to bow out and accept the risk simply because if we were to turn that into a 2v2? AKA 2 wizzies and 2 Psys? A wiz spamming himself with heal is basically -not playing- and therefore dooming his teammate to die, therefore forfeiting the fight. A Psy in white, while limited, can still accomplish quite a bit.



As for the gears? I don't really know his, don't care either.

And prolly a better tome too, Long have a +5 magic tome or something crappy like that.

Don't be hatin' on my Tomes-of-the-week that I find on the ground in PK.

sorry i don't check forums very often, to reply to many of the questions and concerns:

1. why do I spam heal?
your right, it builds chi, 15 per cast. Why do I do this vs other things? cause I don't have my charm ticked or give an opening while building chi, it is the same reason i use my defense lv wep during this as well (I didn't have my o'malley during the fights so that also crippled my play a bit)
2. do I out gear him alot?
no. we both have a +12 wep, all his gear is +7/+8 all mine is +7 except 3 pieces which is +10. My nw ring is new that I just farmed and only +7 so doesn't make a huge difference, at least not yet.
3. why not just be more aggressive?
Doing a wizzy vs psy 1v1 is different than one with a seeker or bm or barb. At this moment, psy have a 1 up in 1v1 versus wizzy and its just a fact. The way the match up is, if we both go on the offensive most psys will kill me with their stun and seal combos. To counter this I take my time, wait for openings, and save my genie and pots.
4. why the hell is there no music and why is it so slow?
sorry I just started recording. All my videos so far are as they are, no editing, music overdubs, or anything. They are just compressed and upload, I am open to suggestions for programs that can quicken the speed and stuff.

1. Looking at it objectively (after having watched the entire vid), you didn't do as horrible as most poster's initial reactions described. Dew tanking even with R8r is still a bit questionable though, as you could just have straight DD'ed and gotten faster chi. Doesn't really make sense to be a cheapskate in a full on duel though - use a crab meat jiaozi, for gods sake!

A psy in white voodoo is actually at a disadvantage - he does almost negligible damage to you while you still do decent damage to him. (remember, he's losing a net 30+ attack levels overall)

Also another thing. I have never seen you use sutra, ever, in my entire time observing you. I think learning to use it more often can make you a better wiz. The 2 spark cost for sutra is misleading as you can easily get back almost a full spark during the combo with the right spells/chi procs. A sutra-mountain's seize combo is also pretty crazy, despite it's cost, because it puts your opponent in a very long recovery mode due to it's power.

Why is it strong when they can just AD/invincible it? Because we have one of the best defensive measures against casters out of ANY class - force of will. It's as OP defensively as mystic's BiTC. It takes effect in .5 s, works through almost everything except IG effects, and, get this, actually GIVES you a buttload of chi. Many classes would kill for a defensive skill that actually GIVES chi instead of taking it. In a 1v1 duel it may as well be a 5-second invincibility on a 20s cooldown, it's THAT good. IMO it makes AD almost unnecessary for wiz vs psy, which means you can spam cloud eruption and badge of courage to your heart's content or use AD proactively in an offensive kill attempt.

Due to this reason you really never have to be worried about blowing your sparks when they have AD up, because sage wiz can build sparks VERY fast w/ cloud + procs + seal.

Also remember that undine doesn't give chi, but takes a rather large portion of your DD time. It's better to just spam gush/pyro/FoW when you're in chi building mode imo. Some wizzies just love their undien though, and can't live without using it every chance they get.

2. Yes, you do outgear him a bit, but not enough for it to make a difference (although the blessing vs no blessing is a LOT more significant). +7 ring gives ~ 400 m def, which is honestly pretty negligible when most R9rr have 17k+. But because you both have +12 weapons, you both have high kill potential - the psy just has less room for error, which is probably why he stuck in white for such long periods of time.

3. I agree that in a perfectly played match between psy and wiz, psys *seem* to have a slight advantage. Just watching your channel times almost gave me cancer. Strangely enough, very few psys actually use disturb soul despite how shockingly good it is vs casters and it's stupid low chi cost. OTOH, a psy who doesn't know what white voodoo is = free food for wizards. This is where the perception between psys and wizards lies - wizards can **** bad psys but psys have all the tools available to make a wizard's life hell, most just don't use them because of their "pew pew pew" mentality, or don't know how to take advantage of the massive openings psy skills can create vs a wiz. I've never felt that psys were one of the "hard" fights during my time as a wiz though. Then again, we didn't have 50k+ soulforce soul of stunnings back then either.

5. I was led to believe that there were a total of 7 matches, and that you lost 4 of them? I'm not sure if you're just outright lying here or that you choose not to remember things correctly.

That fight shouldn't have even lasted a minute.. all it would have taken was to get longknife to under ~75% hp (undine -> gush) and then get one sparked hit off and it'd be over (even in white voodoo). Probably easiest way would just to be to hit sutra power orb and then sutra + spark + d.pyro (if done properly this first hit should be nearly impossible to resist).

There were so many mistakes in that video.. from not having fortify on genie to stunning himself on sos near the end of the 30 sec, to wasting genie/apoth/chi, to stunning himself on sos with genie spark.. just an embarrassing performance overall.

It's a bit OP for unbuffed fights, but R9rr gear also gives 700+ magic. At those levels spark isn't as effective vs casters as it is on say, an archer, who really CAN be debuffed to triple digit mr.

But idk I would honestly be surprised if a sparked DP hit 8k on a robe w/ 700 magic and 100+ defense levels. Maybe possible w/ a crapton of dex?

You are also incorrect about spark being most effective on LA/HA, spark provides the largest amp on high mdef targets (i.e. arcanes). This is a little spreadsheet I put together a few years ago, you can clearly see that spark provides the largest amp % on arcanes.

Hmm, guess you proved me wrong, seems like spark is as effective than ever even w/ all the m. def 700 magic gives. I'm scared to fight R9rr wizzies now .

I know I did some duels w/ Nurfed_you when he had +12 R9 (like, 15 duels back to back lol) and there were times I got insta-gibbed by spark, but the vast majority of the time the combo just didn't seem that impressive, or he wasn't able to use it effectively due to pressure (They did 7k+ hits but I had pretty low mag at the time compared to the mag R9rr gives).

I just went ahead and updated my spreadsheet a little, I didn't have any r9rr in there.. so did some testing against my wiz (so also takes into account titles + completed meridian and all that good stuff), but used a 100 dex genie this time. The amp % is similar to r9, but my resists don't drop nearly as low as they did for other people I tested against. I don't think you'll ever really see the same 15-20ks non crit that you can get against maxed LA/HA chars on maxed AAs, but AAs also have less hp.. so we don't really need to hit them as hard either.

Then why would you immediately world chat "I'm uploading all 8" after the fights? As people said, "the video will determine who's lying." Indeed, it will, and your story is changing nonstop. Likewise, you claim to have the last two, so where's the other one?

If we're to take your own admissions and the video at face value, the video itself shows me winning, since you're admitting I won the last one and the beginning of your vid shows your damage log filled with you taking high damage and not dealing any.

Anyways there's no point trying to talk to you since it's obvious you yourself know you're full of ****.

Infact, I do believe that's how I beat him in one round. Badge = 75 energy, Spark = 62 so after coaxing both from him, it was a big "my genie has no energy left for something I'd need, please shoot me in the mouth," and all that right after falsely leading him to believe he'd get the kill with spark so he wasn't exactly in a position to kite.

Honestly I have to say both players did so many mistakes in this video that it was painful to watch. I'l give that Boomz had a nice execution at the end with a timed reversion -> blade tempest, but the other 9 minutes and 30 seconds made me want to smash my keyboard with my face.

Tbh Long, next time get Will Surge and I'm sure you'l win 7/7 times instead of the 4/7 fights you won this time.

We watching the same video...? I never died to any combo.

I died once because my charm died.
Once because I was admittedly too relaxed and slow to click AD (no, not for spark combo)
And finally this video, where I died because he'd -legit- never attempted HP reversion up until that point so I was so relaxed I'd expected locational reversion.


I don't need to avoid spark combo solely by avoid him distance-wise. I can avoid it simply by having a shield up (will proc either spark or the hit) or by Disturb Soul'ing him so that I have ample time to survive. If anything, our fights show the opposite.

With this game I'm a big believer in "what happens is how it truly is," and again, I never ONCE died to a spark combo here, nor did I ever get close, iirc. It's the most obvious thing in the world, he's doing absolutely NOTHING to bait my genie (and can't, really. Ice Prison was the only time I ever needed a genie) so I can Holy path as I please and if Disturb soul is on him I'm likely gonna purify, walk out of range or put a shield up before he ever has a chance to time a fire attack with spark.

Tbh Long, next time get Will Surge and I'm sure you'l win 7/7 times instead of the 4/7 fights you won this time.

And surprisingly, yes, metal and wood resistance I would argue are worth having in place, cause I've been quite surprised how often I've caught myself in NW or TW and the surrounding DDs were purely wood-metal-physical.

And in my defense? I've since caught and stomped Boomz on multiple occassions and oh yeah, having a blessing is a huge help. This fight occured during the blessing page being down and I lacked one, he had one. NONE of that set up I was doing (majority of that fight from my side is me trying to bait his chi and genie cause he'd just distance shrink and book it if I tried beforehand) would even be neccesary with the blessing, I've found.

After my duels with Nurfed I also got soul of fire on my genie xD. Found it a waste of a spot tbh...not enough wiz in NW/TW actually come within 15m of you.

Can you please make a blue name and come tell boomz how to play then, cause he still parades around claiming hes the best wizard on the server when hes actually one of the worst b:surrender

He's a Safezone hero (as we in harshlands call it). he runs out of sz with an ig and runs back to sz before his ig ends.

He thinks hes the best cause he 3 sparks in sz holypaths out of sz igs uses BT and jumps back to sz before his ig ends. Then brags that no one killed him when he went back to sz before his ig ended.

Hmm... Lets see. 3.99 chi. Triple spark. 0.99 chi. Cloud eruption. 2+sparks. Walk in, fortify > ironguard. >2 spark skill. What if... he doesn't holy path back to safe zone? What if he simply walks/leaps.

Alternate ideas:

Triple spark > cloud eruption > sutra power orb > 2 spark skill > holy path back out

Triple spark > white tea > holy path > start channeling 2 spark skill > absolute domain > port away

3.99 chi > double spark > 1.99 chi > master li's > holy path > fortify + ig > 2 spark skill > holy path

Then proceed going to the forums to post videos of your failure, while covering up failure. While all the same time trying to prove your pro by fighting a disadvantaged opponent, while covering up failure at killing said target. Dear god, it's a paradox.

I can't even describe how much detail you left out and how much stupidity there is in what your saying. I would never have to do any sz trick if i was never ganked by a squad of 10 waiting for me to leave sz.

There is nothing more to say except that all you do is hide in stealth until you have 3 others ready to gank someone. So should i call you a "stealth hero."

If your going call out someone for something, please do it in context and give a little background because I never wait in sz if there is an equal fight.

There is nothing more to say except that all you do is hide in stealth until you have 3 others ready to gank someone. So should i call you a "stealth hero."

If your going call out someone for something, please do it in context and give a little background because I never wait in sz if there is an equal fight.

Im usually the one who attacks before my squad does xD (rarely do i "wait for everyone else to attack") Only people i do that for are the ones smart enough to sin pot for me for stun locking them, oh wait you cant your not even 103 yet 3:
I telestun and more or less suicide to keep sz heros like yourself from running right back to sz:3
But neverless you "merch" 300m per week and that explains your wrists still being +7 when that adds up to 15.6B coin a year. Yet you dont have a single jade, care to explain where this 300m goes?
Also towards"stealth" You try to stealth 3 spark bt and be a hero but fail every time cause you always get poped from stealth before it happens, then after that its back to sz

I'm going to have to agree with Boomz about the "stealth hero" comment. A lot of people in Dark, jakeiK included, wait only when they have the upper hand to kill people. Same goes for infamous, mayhem and crimson. One of the reasons why I find these factions to be a waste of my time. I agree that Boomz is a bad wizzy, but at least he fights when the conditions arn't totally in his favor.

just cause i make alot of coins doesn't mean I always spend it all. I usually do big upgrades at once. The rest I save up because any merchant knows the more coins you have the more coins you can make.
