Hey guys I threw this thread under beginners cuz I want you experienced players to help out new comers find a play style they like or even how they would be expected to play on squads. I been reading in all the forums of people complaints about every class and how new comers aren't grasping how to play their role on a squad so if all you guys can help me explain how classes act not only in squads but pve and PvP you don't have to write a guide just some helpful information about the classes

do we really need to explain all the classes, I mean unless the person has never read a fantasy book or played any other MMORP or RPG in their life then they should understand what a "cleric" and Barbarian" are...

No not really explain and your not required to talk about all the classes just the ones you want beginning player's to read about and know how they will be expect for squads like people hate when clerics dd instead of heal so maybe explain how maybe the can do both without being a main healer ect ect

Since you bring up the DD Cleric, I put my two cents on this one..

DD Cleric are fine, provided that you have a primary healer in your squad if the instance requires one. If you don't then your cleric is expected to keep the person holding argo alive and minimize charm ticks if they are equipped with one.

To be honest, a cleric roll is pretty straightforward. Healer first, DD second.

Specifically, a cleric "should" know all their skills. It's not just rez/BB/RB and go afk. Cleric need to pay attention to their squads health. You WILL know when you come across a highly skilled cleric. They are the ones that can both heal, purify, DD, and debuff with any squad losses and are truly a joy to be in a squad with.

I will add a few things I know cleric catch hell for and completely disagree with.

    1) Charm ticks - IT IS NOT A CLERICS JOB TO PREVENT A CHARM FROM TICKING. Do you hear a Cleric QQ about their MP charm ticking or popping MP apothecary like its candy? NO! So those that QQ about it suck it up buttercup and get over it. As I said above Cleric should to MINIMIZE charm ticks.

    2) To put it "nicely" the death of the bonehead that steals argo - Clerics are not expected to keep the boneheads in your squad alive. If some tard steal argo and gets one-shoted to damn bad. If they are lucky, a barb will invoke giving the cleric enough time to rez them; otherwise, they can stay dead or release.

Archers fall under the category of Damage-Dealers (DD).

In PvE, inflict as much damage a possible without stealing argo. (Pretty much expected for all DD class)
In PvP, assist attack, kite your target into a trap, and BoA.

My personal play style in both PvE and PvP is to stay near my squad

Since Kitty plays all classes as her mains, Kitty can probably say something...

Barbs: Mostly tank-class, doing pulls and takes main damage from bosses, mobs and players. In TW pulls catapults and in NW carries flag mostly. If there's some OP DD in squad that totally overgears barbs, then barbs may be supportive, Devouring and Frightening, and DDing, if good barb and someone else tanking.

Clerics: Mainly healer, but also DDing if good at playing cleric. Tank, if being extreme. In PVE keeping squad alive, or if squad has 2 clerics, one with stronger weapon usually DDing/debuffing. In PVP usually healing, but also soloing if OP-geared or otherwise self-confident.

BMs: In PVE BMs usually throw HF at suitable situations, stuns and AOEs mobs and APS-herpderps at bosses. If strong BM, tanking bosses if no barb present. In PVP much supporting(stunning and HFing again, stunlocking singletargets), but also tanking.

Venos: Debuffer/DD-class. In PVE purging bosses and debuffing them among DDing, also bit crowdcontrolling mobs. On lower levels tanking bosses with pet at times, pulling sometimes if well-geared.
In PVP mainly purging, also debuffing and killing squishies with Nix(or any other good DD-pet). Taking ganks from melees if HA-veno.

Archers: In PVE mainly DDing, sometimes tanking and pulling if well-geared. In PVP mainly killing casters and low-HP melees. Sometimes BoA on groups in TW.

Wizzies: In PVE nuking mobs down and throwing spells at bosses, also throwing debuff to increase damage from wizzies and psys. In PVP killing melees, especially barbs and wiping squads with nukes.

Psys: In PVE also nuking mobs down and throwing spells at bosses, slightly faster than wizzies. Kitty can't say much about PVP as Kitty hasn't done it much on psy yet.

Sins: In PVE APS-herpderping bosses and AoEing mobs among assassinating the troublesome ones. In PVP assassinating squishies and stunlocking. Wiping squads with 3-spark-SS-ER if R9rr+12-weaponed.

Seekers: In PVE tanking mobs by vortexing, AoEing in general and debuffing bosses. If squad badly geared tanking bosses.

Mystics: Jack of all trades in PVE, Kitty can't say about PVP as not tried.

If the charm tick while the cleric is healing as he should that's fine he do his job, but when you LIVE on your charm and the cleric don't heal than sorry but the cleric suck and at 90% of the time it's what happen, the cleric is healing the wrong person or is DDing or cast CHB while only one person need a heal ASAP.

When your charm tick cause the cleric is to stupid to use the appropriate healing skill, yes he can be blame, when one person in squad have a hp at 55% and the cleric start a CHB, sorry, but the cleric suck and could have save the charm tick if he was intelligent and used wellspring surge beside a slow cast AOE heal while only one person need heal.

It's the only healing skills clerics use these days: BB and CHB...
