Honestly, yes there is a rule for necro, and it is there so that old flaming and drama threads are not pulled up, if your so picky about necro, then why the hell dont you go and close all threads which are inactive for over 1 month eh ? i mean honestly the following thread was informative, and some people playing around with SweetieBot, why did u need to close it eh ?

That information is outdated, you can no longer check when your account was created with that method. It was a necro, there was unneeded sweety spam. Thread was pointless, so is this one. INB4 Close0 -
there is a difference between spam and having bit of fun, which doesnt include the concept of flaming, also that it was mentioned the information was out dated, it also cud have been a probable solution with more recent updates. Closing it was like
"Yo i got the power!! Here i lock this"0 -
Since we get this question an awful lot.....
You can play with sweetie in the proper threads. Spamming threads with off-topic sweetie posts is disruptive to a thread's purpose. In addition, one of the main reasons the necro rule exists is to prevent outdated information from being constantly bumped to the top of the page. That's just confusing for people searching for information on a topic. Your fun shouldn't come in the way of other people's ability to make a topic that is stuck to in their own threads. Or for impede other people's ability to find good, and up-to-date information easily, which happens when you have outdated information displayed prominently.
edit: As for why we don't close every thread over a month old, we are free volunteers. We don't work for this company and do this on top of real jobs and lives. There are hundreds of thousands of threads and replies going back years from other moderators. Most players don't even necro them. It is far more reasonable to close ones that popup from time to time. Than to expect us to go through every last thread and reply to make sure the old stuff isn't necroed. We close and edit everything manually.
If you have need any further information, you should be sending a private message to the moderator in question. Or to a GM if you feel the moderator in question would be unfair, you just don't want to deal with them, or if you want to report them for something you feel they violated. As specific moderation is not allowed to be discussed on the forums.
As such I'm going to have to close this.0
