A DRAFT:

Two pvp instance where upon entering, you are granted temporary gear with set stats for each class. You can't equip anything else besides charms and the gear granted.
Level groups:
1) 59-89
2) 89-105

You enter by paying specific price in coins to an NPC, lets say 10k for example. (Minor coin sink)
Gear disapears after leaving the instance.
Flight is not permited, ground environment gains meaning. High ground becomes important for ranged. It's possible to hold location with team effort, for exmplae tower with a single lader.

Goals: achieving reasonably fair PvP and having loads of fun.



How is it profitable for the company?
Players still get to bring their charms. As fair pvp is something this game have never seen and never will due to cash usage, it will atract many people who never had a chance for a reasonable price - HP/MP charms (sales would grow in result)

Positive side effect might be return of players who migrated to private servers.


Motivation booster - ranking system with monthly rewards.

    B-but muh farmed/cashed gear gets no use.
    Forcing players to play a certain way will only make it less appealing.
    What of those who have different gear pieces that they like to swap during battles?
    What of the "free" gear's refines and sharding? We ought to have a choice in the matter for those too, no?

    I'd suggest making it similar to the Tournament (50~59, 60~69) ect, with the ability to enter higher/lower level brackets with handicaps for both specific cases.

    Its an aspect of PvP as well, why should it not be allowed? Even TW/NW/ToB allow flying.
    Now, if there are multiple fields of play/different objectives with some that outlaw flight, then that is fine, but it shouldn't be outright banned from all of it

    1) They can swap their gear as much as they like outside the instance. The point is - fair chance for everyone. To avoid stagnation gears can circulate on monthly basis. For example one month there is zerk axes available for BM's, but after they get more HP on their gear et cetera.

    2) Please explain your suggestion. As for 59-89; 89-105; More population = More occasional mayhem = More fun. And also after 59, most people get their basic pvp skill arsenal, and there isn't that much difference between them until sage/demon skills kick in @89, as gear is what really seperates levels most of the time. Also if you split it by 10 level margin, consider that there is not that many people in 50-59, 60-69 et cetera.

    3) If most common places and occasions where PvP takes places favour flying, why there shouldn't be a place where it isn't? The magic word - VARIETY. And post wasn't that long to miss out:

    Also:

    Or even simpler, just add a PvP arena (or just... change the current arena(s)) where people can go (white or blue named) and slap eachother across the faces without having to worry about dropping items and not having to use guardian scrolls.

    Much like when SP was glitched and people could PK eachother there.

    I'm sure, at least on PvE servers, there's plenty of people who would want to give pvp a try, but simply choose not too because of the forced 10 hour PK mode, or having to have guardians non-stop or changing safety lock settings for it.

    So what if - as a BM/Barb/Sin, I wanted to swap my gear during battle? Going for an HA/LA mix for more APS to mow down other HA targets and going back to full HA/DPH set-up against others?

    Also, rather than having gear change, why not let there be consistency and a wide range of options to choose from? Maybe with a few special things available from time to time like a no-req Adv. Purge bow or something.

    Let an NPC be available before entering the "Arena" that lets you buy various weaponry and armor that mimics to some degree what we already have so that people can pick and choose what they want to go in with. Or...just let people use what they have/worked for.

    That way, you can set up to face roughly equally leveled players without having to face stronger ones, but still having the option to.

    Not every situation favors flying either, as damage is reduced on grounded targets from the air.
