So I was considering making a few videos, was wondering what would be best recording/editing programs to get. I have game booster and I see u can record with it but wasnt sure about the editing...Pls dont ask me to post all my pc specs, just need the basic recording/editing help. Ty for ur time b:thanks

    I would suggest fraps or dxtory for recording, and start off with windows movie maker and if you need more editing power look at sony vegas pro or the adobe equivalent.

    wow i hadnt heard about dxtory before and fraps/camstudio didnt work too great for me.. i am quite amazed at dxtory, really great features good raw capture and great on the fly encoding

    great post record settings to renecode too

    most importantly it captures the active window really well and can hook it, which camstudio failed to do for me

    You're welcome. I switched from fraps a while back as it was causing FPS drop in game, still need to tweak the dxtory settings/codec as the rendered footage is slightly laggy although it has nearly zero impact on gameplay, sometimes forget I'm recording. Using the basic codec atm will be trialing all the others. If it's useful info I will share.

    I've always had good luck using the built-in recorder tool with X-Fire. Aside from that though, I prefer FRAPS, but it can have a larger impact on performance if your system isn't up to par.

    I use Fraps to record, Audacity to record any commentary, and Sony Vegas Pro to edit it all together for the videos I do.

    You can also record the microphone input directly from Fraps

    Fraps rocks bro. Makes Gigantic AVI files tho, but you can convert later to MP4 before editing.

    Fraps is the way to go.

    So, Fraps to record, Freemake Video Converter to Convert onto MP4 before Editing (So rendering goes faster), Sony Vegas to Edit.

    trying a lot of different ingame-cams lately, I have to say dxtory and fraps are my favs, but Bandicam is nice aswell (you can record as much as you like even in free version, but has a watermark).

    For small edits movie maker is enough, for cooler effects and stuff you can try Sony Vegas Pro 12 (atleast i use :P)

    Thanks alot for the advice, downloading fraps now. Will try it out. Any other help/advice/tips are gratly appreciated f:cool
