Can't .ini edit

I never had this problem before, but now it seems I can't do a small ini edit on my character's hair color. I'm using the same color code I used for my seeker so I know that it works but every time I try to save the new file I get an error message saying I don't have permission to save the file here. Has anyone else had this problem and maybe know a solution? Here's an image of the error if that helps.

Are you trying to .ini edit in your 2nd client? Somehow .ini edits only seems possible in the first client you open (the one that will bring up patcher). That solved this problem for me. If that's not the case the only other suggestion I have is copy the .ini file, edit the copy, paste it back over the original and pray it works :/

You need to edit already existing file.
I suggest you to go to the character creation and save a (male) psy ini, then go to the files and change the number from there.

That's how I've always done it, but now when I try to save after editing the file it won't let me.

Your folder and the files are likely set to read only. Check to see whether or not that's the case (right click the folder and select properties). If it is, then deselect read only for the folder and try again.

If the folder itself isn't read only, check the file as well.

They are checked read only, so I tried deselecting it and applying but every time I do it's right back to being checked when I look again. I've tried going all the way back to the main Perfect World folder but it never stays unchecked.

Make sure that you are an administrator and your not duel clienting. It took me ages to figure this out.
