Permanent Community Manager

A lot of threads are going untouched on the forums... The forums are nearly the most dead I've seen them in 5 years from PWE. A post a day or less, with things completely ignored. Arc, OHT crashing, server crashes, "posting more info about the content update", etc. Most threads aren't getting responses.

It's been a while now since our last permanent community manager left us (Hey You!). Since then, we have synch, who is very busy with other PWE titles and has titled himself as being temporary. So, any thoughts or comments on when we will be seeing more involvement on PWE's end via the message boards they offer?

The forum is going down, I don't think it's only cause we don't have CM, I can't say here what I think or a dear mod will close the thread.

But ye the forums are dying.

We need a CM.

I sent him a pm 3 weeks ago and I still don't have answer.

And I'm not blaming synchrose, or whatever his name is....he deals with other games. PWI is anymore the bas**rd child of PWE. It's old, used up, reached its crescendo years ago, and only has basic updates, with the occasional large update from Wanmei.

Most of what the majority of players have been asking almost to the point of begging for have been ignored - event boutique, EG flyers in the event boutique/reg boutique that are 3.2 at least. Updates to the boutique with newer items, boutique bids with flyers EG can use, bug fixes, crash fixes, frost level restrictions, game power creep, character balance, less pack needed items, less fashion in packs (worked for a while), memory leak fixes, GM forum support, GM in game support, bot banning, etc.

I think the playerbase just wants to feel like PWE gives a damn about us, instead of casting us aside like a used tissue after a sinus infection.

Without a large number of new pmayers, do you really want more regulars to find the door? Or would you rather those you see as bitter (of which most I've actually seen as people that feel jaded by PWE, that more often than not, legitimately complain about a lack of caring for what once was THE flagship game in PWE's arsenal)

Granted there are those that for some reason, still think everything is perfectly fine, without issues, and still think the population is super healthy. So be it, but sadly it isn't fine.

That depends on what's said. For the most part us mods also agree that PWI needs more focus than what it's being given atm.

We need our CM .
Sync can't handle proper our forum , he has way too many game forums to handle . ( i can imagine that he has way too much work for a short time - the guy can't work 24/7 )

Also temporary means more than 2 months? Or oh yeah SOON.
Hell no , we don't need a mod to become CM , we need a real CM for us and also to check on mods properly .

b:cry I miss Franky and v4ll . At least they could be here for us with updates and showed some interest , and from my personal experience everytime i had a question/ issue / problem i could have a decent conversation with them and i always got my answers .

there arent but people dont notice when they quit anymore because there is no announcement. i dont think there has been an official goodbye mod thread since aryannamage left.

I remember KawaiiJen been on forum 24/7, she became mod and disappear maybe a week or two after that, pretty much in the same time than Frankie.

I don't think there's too much mods, they are just naive (or act naive), there's a lot of things they say that is not the truth.

I think the mods here need to understand something:

Just because someone targets you in a forum post doesn't mean you should lock the thread hastily because it's a flag for "flaming" or whatever reason you want to give it. Locking the thread will do nothing for you but a temporary relief of the problem. You should ask yourself the question "Why are there so many players saying that mods are an issue?" Or, "why are people asking for a community manager without the reliance on the current mods?"

I've read so many posts that in the Harshlands forum that are locked so fast it's ridiculous. Not only that, the responses some mods give are extremely arrogant and definitely not what I want to read when I come onto the forum.

Locking threads will ruin the game's SEO, community, culture and interaction among players.

Something to think about.

As for this, while I do understand your point, I don't agree. Also, I don't see many people saying we are any kind of problem, but to each his own. But again, I'd like to see examples, as people tend to think they haven't done anything wrong and might need a outside sourse saying otherwise. My first week as a new mod people were complaining about me locking threads like a madcatman, did I rage and just locked any threads that mentioned my name in them, no. Instead I did listen (for the most part), and learned from that so I could look at threads from a bit of a more "impartial" view.

So yea, that's my 2 cents on that.

Well we won't know until you do, and it's not that much "off-topic" to talk about the moderators as well as the CM, which we already know what the issue is there.

Snychroze is the CM for like 3 of PWI's smaller games. PWI I believe has its largest player community amongst the games. We NEED and I IMPLORE NEED another CM like V4liance. PWI just seems like we've been left behind when it NEEDS a massive overhaul. I think V4l's leaving had to do a lot with the fact that he voiced our issues to the PWI Devs in China, and that is what we need a voice. Without an active and dedicated CM for PWI, our concerns and issues don't feel like they are heard. I understand that PWI wants to make money and I am sure they make tons of it off this game and others. I just feel like PWI hasn't gotten the attention its needed for a very long time, and when it did the CM who did voice our concerns got removed.

Something to think about.

Threads targeting a specific person often break this rule, which I posted the whole thing to clarify it completely:

7. No trolling, or flaming.
Any form of personal insult will not be tolerated. General rule of thumb: if you think that what you are about to post is insulting, don't post it. Doesn't matter if you think you're being cute or clever; if it can be conveyed as trolling, it *will* be considered trolling, and the mod team and the admins retain the right to delete, warn, issue infractions, or even ban violators.

6. SPAM by posting frequent and/or annoying messages in the forums.

When you target a specific person, there are a lot of rules that it could potentially violate, which does make it harder to moderate. We have to err on the side of the person being potentially harassed, remember there is a good chance the mod in question doesn't know you personally. How does your post sound to someone who knows nothing about the situation, a total outsider? If it seems like a flame or troll, it will get closed. And if it turns out it wasn't, then it can be reversed. That's the only way to make sure harassment doesn't go on for ages, or behind someone's back as not all users even get to view the forums.

While Synchroze is a temporary community manager, he can still be contacted if you don't like that a thread was closed or a mod's response.

A permanent community manager however, would be beneficial for both the mods and the players in regards to what the mods do. A permanent CM would also be able to dedicate more time for changes to PWI, but a the same time you guys can and still treat Synchroze like you would any other CM and contact him for forum related issues. HE can still help, even if he doesn't have as much time and thus will have to give different priority than V4l did.

I did pm Synchroze for a forum issue, it's been over 2 weeks and still no answer.

I'm not blaming him, but PWI doesn't seems in his priority.
