What KIND of pet to have at high levels

My veno is going to turn 90 soon and im noticing that half of my pets (read : theflyer and the water one) are always stored in their pokeball and never come out...

So...should i remove them to get something more usefull or they will become usefull soon or later? I know that 1 quest over 1000 is in the water or in the air, but the few money that im gonna spend to hatch them back can be nothing compared to the more usefullness of some other pet.

Atm im using a walker (change with armored bear ?) and a kowlin as tanker and puller.

was thinkning to get a ranged one back again, after that i left my old one cause it was sooo ugly...
and eventually a magical tank...if someone say that i can need one after 90/100

PS : no legendary pets (unless someone wanna gift one...b:laugh)...ok with the rares

I'd suggest getting either the Sawfly or the Windwalking Piggy as air pets because they can be evolved at lvl100. One is a DD oriented pet and the other is a tank of sorts. The advantage of the Piggy is that it gets a knock-back that works in PvP (once evolved) but it also works in PvE and can be useful at times so I'd probably recommend that. However, the pig's attack is rather low so it's up to you if you want a DD or a tanky air pet.

Air pets are not absolutely obsolete at lvl100 and you'll find uses for them outside of instances so I'd suggest keeping one regardless.

The Walker is fine I suppose, I don't see a particular reason to change it for an Armored Bear. Kowlin is okay but I'd recommend taming a cactus from FB89 Eden which can be evolved as well. Ranged pulling is easier and more ideal in several situations and the cactus is rather useful in doing the Venomancer daily instance, Lycaeum of cultivation. There are other uses for a ranged pet too.

There aren't many water quests or situations during which you absolutely need a water pet. The plumpfish can be evolved and seems rather good, plus stars from the instance can help you level one fast. If you lack pet bag slots you can leave it out but if you have a spare slot it's not a bad idea to keep one around.

forgot to say that i have a white phesant as flyer (removed the piggy cause of the too low dmg) and a plumpfish as water one.

the cactus is my next idea, when ill be high enought to tame one, prob the one near phlebo. even if the evolved form sux (talking about how it look ).

id really have to hope in some cage sale (catshops or so) to get a few ones to avoid the lack of space in the pet bag. i notice that the cage are in sale on the outique...but i was quite sure that 1 gold was the normal price...strange...or im a bit confused...possible too

I had the walker til i was 101. Have the herc now and nix. Before that i had a sawfly. Didn't level it though. lazy veno. I have the cactus and kowlin. the bears and fish is in the bank lol. 4 mounts currently take over there spots. and i have a dog for looks its so cute. and the dino from morai

i think ill never have herc and nix cause they cost too many ingame milions and im not using real money here. so i have to go with what i can tame myself.

atm i really not remember why i left the sawfly on the way but i think cause i got the piggy...that happened to be cute but a delusin on damage.

the lvl 100 doggy is on my to get list too...after a couple of cages...

Sales or tickets can make the hercules and the phoenix pretty cheap and desperate people might sell them even for as low as 50mil, depending on the server and the gold prices. The average cost of one is probably around 80mil, 100mil and up is kinda overpriced in my opinion but like I said, depends on gold prices.

It's entirely possible to acquire one or both of them through just some farming, merchanting if you're good at it and running BHs.

Working on your gear and acquiring your skills need to be and will be a priority of course but if you do the above and save money you can definitely get at least one of them in due time.
It might seem like a lot of money but by the time you get decent gear and get your demon/sage skills, you'll have probably spent more than what a hercules/phoenix cost.

It's not required of course but don't tell yourself "I'll never get it" and just give up. The 1mil and 2mil and 5mil you spend here and there for skills or gear do add up.

well, to be fair. My ex pwi hubby bought the herc and nix for me for xmas like 2 yrs ago or so.

But they should be easier to get now. Just keep saving. R9 and such is on my to get list but i want the monkey!

well is not that i say "never" but the 80 mil that are required are a big trouble. atm im not thinking to get overgeared or have all the sage skills but to get a +5 g16 and only the usefull skills hoping in some luck with the expensive ones.
Ill save some cash from bhs and so but i think herc will come after all the so said gear/skills...eventually...

In conclusion,,,i should have

1 phy tank : walker / herc
1 flyer : piggy / pheasant / nix
1 water : plumpfish
1 puller : kowlin / doggy
1 ranged : cactus

missing something?

and in what cases can the eventually missed one be usefull?

Sounds about good and yeah, definitely focus on your gear and skills first
For the gear, don't use orbs to +5. Just use tienkang stones (mirages should come from BH), it should be much cheaper than orbs (weapon's a different story though).

I can also vouch for the hatchling for being a good DD pet but it's lvl101 and it has a random spawn between 24-48 hours so taming one depends on luck mostly.

xD may i just mention that my faction leader has the evolved cactus, and it has utterly amazing skills, particularly for nation war or pvp. apparently it has one that makes her unselectable to other players for a period of time. not to mention it's a lot better to look at than the original form, in my opinion.

about the refining with tienkang i have to say that on my main i tried to +5 a lot of time and i ended up poor and with +0...solved the thing stopping at +4 atm...
if ill be a bit richer when my veno will hit 100 ill try the +5 that way

about the cactus...im not a pvp person so i think that all the use for it is to kill fcc harpies or some pulling in special circumstances. and that evolution is damn biggg ^^ still have to find some veno using it, i only saw around dollylama one on archo standing there

She might be talking about the mood-skill Spirit which is available to every pet as long as they have a mood that includes the skill. Otherwise maybe she was talking about her evolved puppy?

I just know the cactus itself doesn't come with the "unselectable" skill unless we're talking about moods

It would be ideal to farm DQ (it's 2x after all) and try to get event gold (Demon/Sage card). This way you'll only have to pay for mirages, which can come from BHs once you hit lvl100 and the refining stones will be free. This is basically what I do with my gear. You can go as far as +7 or +9 for the daring but...let's just stick to +5 for now b:chuckle

Another tip I can give is that if you see the rates are sucky, give up and try again a different day.

Still havent read that much about mood and so but im quite sure im not going to keep the cactus out that muc anyway^^

Note to myself : try to find the patience t ofarm dq items.
My prob here is that too many mobs gor a very low aggro time and they tend to reset before i got enought to do some good aoe grinding...(with seeker)
