There are whips in the database, and no class actually use them. I say us Mystic's should have gotten those damn weapons, and turned them into magic based instruments. Storm Mistress uses one, and if you actually look into her backstory, she was somewhat of a Mystic, and she uses a freaking whip!!! I want one too, hell whips are cool, and sexy... QQ

    Whips were meant for venos

    And if I'm leveling a mystic I do not want to have to re-obtain and re-shard+refine a unique weapon...I'd rather stash down one from another caster

    They were in the database before even tideborn. Back when we just had the original six classes.

    That said, they look more like something meant for archers as a melee weapon (much higher dex req than str, relatively low base damage, has a range equal to where close range penalty begins to apply, etc). However it's a guess as the weapons have been removed from the game so we won't ever know.

    There's so much in this game that was never implemented and I wish it was...

    Whips would be nice to at least see. The thing that the developers took off that still bugs me deeply is the Black Sand Palace. It gives me the impression they were going through with it and didn't have the time to finish it off because the map was pretty well drawn, and there's an mysterious entrance that was made useless near Cromagnom.

    But I went off topic. It looks like the whip was meant to light armor classes due to the high dex requirement (the only class that was supposed to be light armor at the time those were implemented were archers, so...).

    thats what i was thinking, to just baselessly assume they were for venos and be done with it though, thats the evidence i was after. Purga has a habit of putting stuff out there without much evidence lol.

    back to topic, it would be interesting to see an archer laying into someone with a whip lol

    Well storm mistress uses a whip...would be cool if they could expand the pet system and let us equip our pets for more damage, they are kinda falling behind tbh since getting half attack levels just makes them more useless as everyone gains a crapton of attack/def levels.

    Venos have been getting all these cool buffs while mystic pets were left as sac fodder :/. Only real utility pets have is salvation shield and devil stun...

    Whips were originally gonna be a reference to venos looking like succubus' but they scraped the idea because they thought it was inappropriate...They never went back to it

    It was also supposed to be an entire set of weapons like blades or axes or wands

    Would make an interesting weapon having storms lightning whip...Would be slightly awkward with male mystic though b:shocked
