Date of Reset??

Please clarify the date of TW map reset, is it 10th of september Or is it 9th of October ?

News post says October 9 (10/9 in US usage, all dates in PWE news posts use that format), which is the date servers come up after maintenance, and also the day of the week TW bids can be made.

It is, maintenance are always the Wednesday...

last maintenance happened 3rd September - 4th September = Tuesday -> Wednesday.


According to the announcement IF its october 9th, maintenance,

9th october - 10th october = Wednesday-> Thursday,

IF its next week then,

10th september - 11th septemeber = Tuesday-> Thursday.


Well just let a GM tell us in words on this thread as to when the Reset Happens....

It wouldn't be the first time maintenance was held on a Wednesday or Thursday night for some reason.

I read too fast and actually when i read the date I also thought it was september the 10th. But i guess this will be on October the 9th (it would have more sense since every season length six months)

last reset was announced on 20th of march 2013, and the last TW of the season took place on 27th, new season started the week after on 3rd of april, if its october, then the GM's announced the TW reset 1 month early - more time for others to gank the winning faction ? dont think its october... and i wish it isnt octber...

I think what we're trying to figure out is when is the current TW season ending. At the bottom of the news post it says

Every member of these Territory War winning factions will be sent an extra special prize within the next two weeks!

Two weeks is not Oct. 9th. Will they announce the winners within two weeks and then the map is reset on Oct. 9th?

You'll notice all the winners are TBD (To Be Determined); I'd expect the prizes to be mailed out within 2 weeks of when they are determined.

Note that PWE is a US based company, and the US uses MM/DD/YYYY for dates most commonly. Assume reset will be October 9 unless/until someone from PWE states otherwise.

Let me clarify so you're not confused.

We plan on having our regular scheduled maintenance on October 8th at 23:00 PDT. The maintenance usually runs 3 hours long and during this time the reset will take place. Once the maintenance has completed the Territory Wars Maps should be reset and the time should be October 9th 2:00am PDT (5:00am EDT, 10:00am GMT).

Can you clarify if the season ends at this time as well (i.e. the winners are chosen based on lands owned at time of reset) or if that happens at an earlier time? If memory serves (though my memory isn't the best), past TW seasons ended a couple weeks before the map actually reset.

to avoid this confusion may i suggest to stop using xx/xx/xxxx (01/01/2050) format and use xx/monthname/xxxx (01/january/2050) in future instead? b:surrender

The real standard is ISO 8601 which specifies YYYY-MM-DD. In both US and ISO months come before days since months are more significant. Putting days first would be like putting minutes before hours which no one does. US puts year at the end though because that is often omitted or understood. ISO is the only one that works with lexicographical sorting.

indeed, if only people would stick to iso, si, and other standards. sadly we don't, hence my suggestion to spell out the month in the future to eliminate any confusion. not just this thread shows the confusion, but i bet that we all had similar discussions in our facitons, too... not to mention the timesones, servertimes, 12-hour clock convention instead of the 24-hour (also part of iso 8601 iirc). to bad 'Swatch Internet Time' did not establish itself.

btw.
ignoring iso 8601 by putting the year at the end, is like putting the seconds before the hours:minutes. :P

then its highly stupid of you all to announce the reset so early like a month before cause, now on all servers the winning faction will be ganked by atleast 7-8 more faction just to make them stop wining... dont you think a bit later annoucnement would have been better? look at the way val did it earlier...

Can we get an official response on when MORAI server TW map is resetting?
Is it being done together with the US servers or are you going to give us the 3 weeks longer that our server took to merge? It would be barely 5 months for us if you reset the 9th of october.

There has been an official answer yesterday by Regerem on the Lothranis forum (in french section only though) saying that it will be the same date for Morai.
