End Game Gear for LA Veno?

Just curious to see what suggestions my fellow Venos have for end game gear for an LA Veno. Right now I'm sporting the Gold TT80 LA gear, along with the Gold TT80 mag sword. I know I can't use R9 gear because it would force me back into AA gear, and I do so love my LA build. (I've tried searching the Veno forums for an answers to this, but after the 5th page of so I gave up searching...)

Likewise, which pets do you think best compliment an LA veno?

Desdi - Sanctuary

Pretty much G16 Nirvana gear (3rd cast Nirvana) is your endgame choice along with Cube necklace and Warsong belt.
Additionally you can go further with Potato's post and add R9 3rd cast weapon, belt and NW ornaments.

There's no clear answer for the pets, you'll need the same set of pets as any other Venomancer; DD/debuff pet, tank pet, pulling pet, air pet, water pet. I can help you more if you tell us what pets you have so far though.

Well I have my bear cub that I've been using forever, along with Kowlin and Glacial Walker which are both close to my lvl (85, forum avatar is incorrect). I plan on evolving the Walker and Kowlin whenever I get to 100.

I'm also leveling/playing with Cuddly Pup, Windwalling Piggy, and the Eidolon thing (i wanted a flying pet close to my lvl, but I really don't use it). Working on eventually getting a Nix, some day.

Well that's pretty good o.o
The Cub and the Walker can both be tank pets so you might want to customize one of them towards more DD/debuff maybe.

If you do get a Phoenix you'll be able to have water + air + land pet all packed in one so just stick to whatever water/air pet you find at level.

Cuddly Pup could be your all-around DD/debuff pet and the Kowling your pulling pet.

There are more choices and possibilities but this is what I'd suggest with the current set of pets you have I'd advice you to tame the cactus from eden as a ranged pet. It's always handy to have one around.

One more pet question Desdi... it is really necessary to have a mag tank pet these days? I've been contemplating getting a Carapest Terror or Antelope Pup for mag tanking, but seeing as neither is evolve-able, I haven't yet taken the plunge.

Most bosses that deal magic can also melee so building a pet as a magic tank will have limited uses especially since most pets will go melee range to use their skills and auto-attacks which will, in turn, force the boss to melee as well.

There are some cases where magic tanking is possible, preferable or the only option but those are few and far between or it's completely out of reach of the pet due to low defences/HP of the pet by default. Legendary pet skills or legendary pets (Harpy) can make it possible but that's a different topic.

A ranged pet, on the other hand, will enable you to range tank with a pet and it will usually also be magic tanking since usually the ranged damage of bosses is magic (there are exceptions).
The cactus I suggested is more of a pulling pet as well as a pet to be used in the Venomancer instance, the range is very handy. I don't know how well it can range tank things though (you can evolve it) but maybe someone else here who has the pet can tell you.

Dunno why you'd do it, tbh. For the price of that, I'd just do r9rr vit/mag build and end up with better stats all around.

Mayfly - Dreamweaver

Unevolved Eden cactopods are inferior to same level ranged eldergoths in HP, attack and defenses but have greater range. I haven't compared the stats of my eldergoth to my evolved cactopod, but the attack speed buff the cacto gets would certainly boost average DPS over the eldergoth.
