Looking for Player vs Player.

Ok as we all know PK is very dead here, open map pk doesn't truly exist, but what I think is that enough people are interested in PKing they just don't have the patience to wait for some good pk to show up. I personally am interested in PK with lower numbers. 1v1,2v2,3v3 and 4v4. I like to have an impact in decision making and I dont think that 10v10 or guild vs guild offers that. One group eventually significantly overpowers the other and one individual can struggle to make an impact. This thread is for like minded people who want to make the player vs player ACTION happen. So if you are in for any of the above or know anyone who would be interested in organizing some fights in undisclosed locations leave a message here or in my mailbox (HueHueHue_) with your name and when it suits you and we can sort some fighting out! Oh. I love fraps so if you don't want to be recorded in the fights let me know and I wont include you on my filmz Thank you friends and may the ACTION return to us.

Rules:

1- No Psy buffs unless you are a psy or have a psy in your team. No outside SoS. Thats dumb as ****.
2. No res balls unless you have a mystic.
3. No come backs. You die your out. Don't run back in.

I think this is a great idea. Get people to come together to have fun, practice, and improve themselves. Well schedule is hectic for me but when I can get on and free, I can try and PK xD.

I like the idea. But are you prepared to give up your troll habits to do proper fights?

There is a saying that goes, "too much of a good thing is a bad thing". In my own words: Troll me once, I'll laugh, troll me twice, I may crack a smile, troll me thrice and I'll frown.

When I used to fight you on my sin, I was often disappointed. It was hard to tell sometimes if you were being incompetent, or just not taking the fight seriously. Many times you didn't have sufficient apoths. Sometimes no charm. Never used defense charms.

Of course the natural excuse is 'if I was fighting you seriously I would...' You'd what exactly? You'd win? No, I'm not so sure. If you never use apoths, if you don't use defense charms, how can you be expected to know which ones to use and when, be expected to use them quickly and naturally on instinct?

Troll to your hearts content on world chat if you must. There, you can have fans of how you never take yourself seriously, and how you joke all the time.

Troll me in pvp, and not only will i beat the **** out of you, I'll have little interest in fighting against you. Win or lose, I want to fight people who give it their 100%; that means no messing around with no apoths, no charm, or other stuff like that. Even trolls like Tempest's most well known barb+psy duo know that much. They can troll in world chat, but they fight with everything they've got once in pk.

In short: if you want to be taken seriously in pk by serious pkers, you gotta be able to take yourself seriously once in a while.

Again, can you do that?

Please leave my attitude towards RPK out of this. You know how I feel about your attitude towards this game and my own but its unimportant and irrelevant.This is for pvp match up only. You outgear the general populous quite severely so fitting you into fights may be difficult to say the least, a balanced fight with a full +12 and jaded character would require some clever tinkering of the numbers in the fights. In answer to your question, yes i do have the means to supply my character with what it needs to be the best it can be and I have matched and beaten the barbs with similar gear to my own in fights. I feel like fighting other barbs is one of my strengths but PVP with all the apoth and defense charms and blessings and what not is the way i currently play. Ill upload a video later tonight of a 2v2 that I was a part of earlier tonight where our team was out geared but we proved victorious as evidence of this.

And yes darkskies, goodfights. I am still new to barb you gotta forgive me, archers provide a big challenge to me at the moment I need to learn a few more tricks to defeat them i feel.

Any advice from good barbs or people who have been watching pk on how to deal with hard hitting archers would be greatly appreciated, I have no problem in killing Vali or similar gear archers but the stronger archers are scary to me, the threat of purge and the duration of bloodvow matched with my struggle for chi as a demon barb is too much for me at the moment.

Main problem is the buff advantage, I'd say. Your damage goes under 1k and his hp is 19k.

Shares 2min cd with normal apoth = apoth, and im pretty sure you used a shining pill at 1min when I noticed that I used the spirit of defence! also when you (zerk?) crit me with arma I was purged, devoured and it hit me for 14k and my base hp is 15k b:victory

So I would say its more about the timing, in the vid you can see you arma'd right after my charm ticked, not saying that was intentional of course but had it been one skill earlier when my HP was at 60%.. alternatively had you used ToP that probably would've one shot me.

Also there wasnt much cc I felt pretty comfortable kiting you with just leaps, didnt have to use fortify too much so I was pretty aggressive with faith going for the kill w/o getting interrupted.

Also advice to myself too, but keeping that mo zuns spam really makes a huge difference, esp vs archers, I think the one time we used it on each other my chi was already at zero, and I hit awaken b:chuckle

Ok what ever on the apoth buffs being apoth. I dont mind it. The arma timing was a misuse and poor play on my behalf. I dont think it was a zerk crit though. Just a crit or a zerk. The CC on a barb is so damn unreliable.

As a barb fighting archers you really should have heart of steel. Which incidentally will help you enormously against clerics... and seekers. Expect metal attacks after blood vow so use the heart of steel instead of solid shield would be my bet. An attack that is resisted can't purge (so no lightning strike or thunderous blast purges), and of course thunder shock carries a metal debuff so it won't purge either... not that it will land with heart of steel of course.

Jans should be your role model in terms of how to fight as a barb. You want to switch from very very aggressive to pure defense and back all the time. Your class will have difficulty doing both at once since your damage is going to be lowerish, your skill damage is not as high as a bm or seeker or sin, or any arcane (excepting zerk crits and arma). I recently fought Melonheads on sin who used his def lvl weapon too much, allowing me to go extremely offensive without much fear of zerk crits or strong debuffs.

The people who are tough to kill will mostly die in the same way, unless they are barbs, and arma won't usually work then. For everybody else, you arma when they are at half hp, using penetrate armor and tangling mire. Knowing when to time this for best chances is key; ideally you've seen them use their genie, and they don't have key defensive skills in (example, never arma on a plume-shelled cleric, or an archer with wings of grace in, or a sin with deaden nerves in, or a bm with physical marrow + demon bell buff in... etc etc). Preferably stunned and purged, but neither is always necessary.

To get them to use their genie you gotta scare them first. You need to get them near that half hp mark and do some faking... like doing a penetrate arma, tangling mire, and then cancel channeling an arma. Great trick that rarely grows old, because arma has a fast channeling and its not possible really to tell if somebody is faking and react after the channeling is cancelled, if they wait they'll wait too long and if the arma is real they could die. They have to react. Other strategies for ticking genie are simply pulling off good stun, immobilize locks. Not locks, but constant interrupts. A stun, a small gap, another stun, a gap, an immobilize + channel interrupt, then a slow, then a stun. Etc.

The obvious genie is a super high str, because that increases the threat of your arma and makes it easier to spook people into using their genie with a fake out.

Ill consider it. The problem is barb stuns are 50-50. so you waste 100k charm+ between getitng hte required luck for a good lock and the chance you will be able to replicate it again after the fake out is low and annoying. I think barbs weakness is inconsistancy.

so whats the big deal with using apo, i don't understand I mean thats like saying a person can't use a rank weapon or g15/16 gear...those are farmed just like apo, and anyone can make apo....pointless noob

Plague defeated me in 700k charm tick and a lucky strike of 5 consecutive purges. Still i am a man and i accept his stupid str barb build with +12 items defeated me with +10. b:shutup

I have legs Wrists and boots +12 which only gives me a little more hp And rest is +10 or less Good fight but my build is viable for my playstyle that's what counts
