New item to restrict the player info button

I want a in game item to hide my equipment and level from other players... it should be a level 100+ item preferably (so players cant just be nubs about it...).


why?
1. i feel that I'm always on the learning curve i study for hours to make stats and builds work on my chars and get really really good results...
2. adds mystery to a char...
3. i dont like that players can just mimic a char and come up with some of the best results...
-i do understand its partially about a players own ability... but still...
4. it increases competitiveness
5. it reduces sins ability to sneak up and prey on lower or weaker players...
6. do i really need a 6? vote and let the GMs know what you think... mk? ty lates

so players arnt like o.O why the heck does a level 81 char care about a item for level 100+ ? lol

    It's 50/50
    I personally just look at the weapon if it looks cool xD and wanna know the name of it
    Plus wouldn't Eye of Observation negate this item?

    There is no point to hide your gears. Full r9rr +12 with josd/deities is the best possible build. There just isn't anything better. Add an r8r set if you want to be creative, but thats only an add-on, and everyone already knows what stats you can get from that anyway.

    As for your stat points, people can't see it, so you're safe on that.

    Hmm not sure to be honest.
    I mostly use Player Info to try out a person's fashion (I know you all do it!!!), check the weapon name if I see something cool that I've never seen before and lastly if the person appears to be too squishy in a run so I check on their gear to see why they die so much.

    I'm not against nor in favor of it..I guess neutral xD

    I can understand the desire for this item, and really, there's no reason not to make one. Especially since they would make it time-limited and a boutique item >>.

    In any case, when I'm just standing around, usually I equip a fake weapon.
    I figure, if you want to hide your equip on a regular basis, just carry a fake set and put the real and fake set on some hot keys so you can switch whenever you want without going into your inventory. Sure it takes up space, and sins with the bag-checker skill could still see your stuff, but it's better than nothing if you're really paranoid about it right now.

    eye of observation will show end results... of buffs and etc... that i dont mind... because then they will be like how the f***.... so no it wont negate. also those who think rrr9 +12 will always win... thats why i wanna hide my gear... because players like you dont know how to make a char... you merely mimic and copy... instead of researching... if my math is correct.. (and im sure it is..) ill become incredibly strong... only a few will stand a chance of winning... and you will need a whole lot to do so... :) im glad there are responses... and about the suggestions... your right i didnt see it as a posting listing sorry (feel free to move it)

    sins do get special abilites to see into inventories i havent seen exactly how its done... but the eye of observation only shows end stats not gears... also theres stats that it excludes... and these i hold most dear to me :)

    I'm always paranoid... but i dont want to have to always hide my stuff... what if i need it on the fly? and i keep it in the bank for now... :/ but i dont get to use it that often... whats the point of making special equips if i cant use them more :)... all that work... all that money... all that time... and im a show off as well >.< i like showing the end results... not he how i got there for everyone to go pft.... smoke and mirrors (and a slight hint of death... :) )

    Ehm.. Use skill->See everything that's in a persons inventory (=equipped items is excluded)

    Imo, this item is useless. Most popular ppl are well known, there is no need to scan their gear every time you encounter them. I use player info to look at players' genies, just to be aware of what they use. I don't like sins' ability to scan inventory, but this skill is not going to be taken away, i don't care if someone can see my gear and even stats, it's not a top secret :)

    just had to check before i opened my mouth... sins can see inventories only... when i looked at the video it doesnt show thier fash or any equipped items... my secrets would be safe... :)

    once you see it once... well i havent released it... so no one has seen it once... and faurther more there are secrets to the game... things 99% of players dont know and most dont care thier strong pve and they kill a few players pvp oooooh... but what about us select few...?

    how many hours do you play? a lot of people play for more then 4-6 hours a day... thats more then a part time job... and what do we get out of it? basically fun... and what ever we put into it... but a few players really put forth the extra effort to find things out about the game... and every time i do... it gets recreated and propagates thought the server... i would like to keep it to my self for awhile before people just turn it into more water knowledge...

    1st thing that annoys me on this thread is that Darkdeity doesnt know how to edit messages, instead of doing it, he double/triple posts.
    You're lvl 81 and alreayd worried that someone "might steal your build", seriously? Its a game! If you dont want "your build" to be stolen, stay away from people so they cant use stalk your gear? :D
    I see no problem on checking other people, like Desdi said, I use it test other peoples fashion. (and in caves etc to check their gear etc)
    I need to say no to this stupid idea. :D

    by end game there really isn't a huge variety to how ppl stat build and it's mostly effected buy your gear and shards anyho

    again by time you hit EG there are only rly 2 sets of gear for pvp t3 or r9 so with best will in the world you will still get ppl with same set up

    im not sure how tbh most times i only rly look at ppls gear if its some1 ik or if were in fws/aba or sot weekly and they keep dieing either way hiding you're gear wont make you any more tanky or ganky

    this will happen regardles jungle belts and eye's of observation and ppl can see your lvl, pdeff,mdeff,hp deff lvl and atk lvl w/o having to look at your gears at all

    Other than occasionally checking out someone's fashion, and occasionally a weapon, I could give two s**ts about some else's gear. Pixellated items in game don't make me want to make a sticky sock at night.

    Personally its not mimicing these days, everyone is geared the same. no one does anything different cause if they do they wont get instances.

    as for the sin part, no..it doesn't help with that at all...sins can kill almost anyone if your not expecting them..only way to fix that..get rid of stealth loool like that will happen.

    I use it to gauge the strength of my squadmates for fastest and safest results, ie I'll pull half of metal if I have a squad I think can handle the aoes of 18 mobs in a bubble or do single groups if I have people like >6k hp sins or 4k hp casters or pdef ornie BMs/Seekers.

    Same thing for how fast does my cleric need to heal a tank? *pervs on gear*

    Same thing for who's gonna get aggro. If I have a low hp sin, I may chose not to HF on my BM and to tank over the sin so he doesn't go squish and waste everyone's time while we wait for them to rez.

    Player info doesn't show stats and there's only so many gear options. The people who aren't educating themselves on gear options probably aren't investing alot of time researching individual players gears either.

    Have a feeling OP is either reinventing the wheel with an ellusive secretive build like a dex based sin, or they're doing something stoopid or ridiculous like axe archer (dat zerk crit!) or 5 aps sword BM, just have to roll the 1:7200000 triple -int boots and chest.

    No. Maining a healer, I use that function to evaluate my tanks/DDs gear to optimize squad play. Plus, it's a great thing for newbies to learn what they should wear.

    Well, the free view player option only shows equipped items, which I honestly don't think is a big deal. People can see your weapon in game anyway and based on that can usually take a guess on which way you would go gear-wise. I personally only use the option to view player to try on fashion, or see what their flyer is if I don't recognize it... and occasionally if I have a person join BH with abhorrently low HP I check to see what the heck they are wearing to get HP that low. xD

    As to the Eye of Observation that allows you to see stats, that is something you pay for so they will never make something to counter it. If it wasn't able to do its intended task, it would be worthless.

    Same goes for the sin skill. This is a skill they created for assassins to have for the exact purpose of looking into inventories. It would be a pointless skill to have spent time/money on if they made something to negate it. (But keep in mind that the sin skill doesn't let them see equipped gear anyway so it really doesn't factor in, here)

    I hope they never do take the view player option away personally, because I like to check out fashion. xD

    No thats noobish.
    Look, its one out of few sin's advantage to be able to sneak and study his target before he actually does something, leave our tactical espionage action alone b:angry

    Sins have crappy defenses, crappy HP, no range, no AoE, **** damage against bms/seekers/barbs, heavily rely on crits for without them our damage is ridiculous (seriously, only thing weaker than daggers in game are fists/claws).
    Don't freak out, deal with it.

    Take it from me on this point... I know you are correct in this statement (and probably one of the very few who do know this, although that assumes your build is a good one as well), but i also know it goes beyond just people "thinking r9rr +12 will always win"... it is more of a mindless cult really... even if you show them and explain to them what your build is... they still will not hear you, they still will not want to hear you, they will still ridicule you for actually thinking.     I myself went warsoul recast weapon, with r8r armors, t2 nirvy helm and cloak, jungle stone made jungle belt, cube neck, r9 ring, cloud stir ring on a psy. People ridicule me all the time... I get pissed off at times because if I had the money to actually complete my build to the end these others have finished their precious r9rr gears (+12 refines with +2 def / atk stones in gears, not to mention engravings), I would wipe my *** with the majority of them to say the least.

    So there is no reason to be paranoid at all about people looking at your gears... because you could put neon signs around yourself saying "    =>hey, different gear build here <="... and no one would give a damn, except to ridicule and mock you... But I most certainly voted no on this poll...

    1. beating people also involves skill so it would be just the gear
    2. not having the coins to finish the build is also a build flaw unless you get linear efficiency
    3. feel free to give me a ling of a post where you explain your build or a link to it. I'd love to see if there are improvements to be made.

    1. if they have ****ty gear and wanna go to delta they probly cant afford the item im talking about (was hoping it would be like a autorecovery type of item (timebased) and expencive lets say 10 gold a month (not saying it does that healing or anything...)

    7. if i dont get parties with my build i will laugh soo freaking hard its unreal my mystic soloed metal, fire and earth paths the first time i tried them... and none of my gear is past +4 on my crappy armors (as i said thier no where near done and i have to keep the good ones in the bank)

    8. someone talked about sins always being able to kill you when they get the jump on you... sorry to tell you my new build its not possible for a sin to kill me when im done. i dont put any actual money into the game i only buy and sell but i still make about 20-40 mil a week doing so... so its going to take a few months to actually finish but time looking for some super rare stuff...
