Question for mood for solo FF

I'm hoping to solo FF just for fun, cause I really like the instance (I genuinely do) and I'm a little tired of forming squads.

I'm wondering what pet mood would be useful. I got Impetuous on my Herc, which has a level 4 Provoking.

Skill description: has a 30% chance of attracting all targets surrounding you. Higher level, greater threat.

I got a level 4 for this skill.

1. Is it good enough?

Some venos swear by it, but I'm not sure whether this is good, or AOE howl is better (which would mean further rerolls to get a mood like Confident or Pompous.

2. How do I use it?

Is it like a skill that I use whenever I can? Like spam it whenever it's cooled down? Or is it like a buff, like reflect/strong/protect, that I just have to use it once, and it becomes an auto thing for the herc (until it runs out).

3. (with reference to question 2 elaboration) If it is a buff, how long does it last? Does anyone know.

I'm so sorry to ask so many questions. I don't know many other venos on HT that are online when I am LOL. Thank you so much!

Personally I prefer Howl because it's guaranteed to get aggro. In addition to that I like having a self-heal on the Hercules of any sort in the case that I miss a heal due to being stunned, sealed or whatever.

Selfless and Infelxible are my personal favourites. I have Selfless on my Giant which was a lucky first try (when I evolved the Hercules it got Selfless as mood). Daring seems like another good alternative but, like I mentioned, I prefer having a self-heal. Naive is a nice mood too if you manage to get a high level on Shadow (maxed: 50% chance to evade debuffs). It works like a lvl10 Assassin's Tidal Protection.

Your mood is just fine though, it should be enough to solo FCC but I'd probably opt for one of the moods mentioned above in the future as a personal preference.

If I recall correctly all the bosses in FCC can be ranged tanked and they deal magic damage so the Harpy should be able to tank those bosses and have better DPS/DPH than the Giant (does depend on the inherit stats they have though). You can probably use her on the magic monsters too but until you can manage to pull monsters yourself, you'll have to stick to the Giant for the rest.

As for Provoking, I've never had the chance to use/test it so I have no answer for it sadly

CaitlinDan,Provoking will not work at frost runs,i have tried that.As Desdi said,get howl for have aggro at groups.Herc is capable to handle 3-4 groups at once,so when howl,you can just ...noxious gas them and mobs are dead in less than 15 secs. Now for bosses,try have Sly mood on nix,it self-heal a lot while you are sleep,silent or have any other debuff that prevent you from heal pet plus nix kills insane fast(Bishop boss spawn on my runs hardly the 3rd bishop mob).If manage to get these two moods at your pets,you ll able to solo frost from entrance to shade out of big room in 50 min max and solo big room mobs in less than 3 min.
