Hi,probably i'm not only one who got confused about barb APS build. i have heard many times that APS barbs aren't made for NW/TW/PK,how arma is great,how dex is worthless etc,etc,but those who are interested to go APS have other interests-PVE,so i have some questions which would help for everyone.

1.Is its possible to solo everything with APS build?Is its even worth to solo?
2.What's best class to duo with?
3.Is its possible to hold aggro from squad while standing
4.Is there any reasons to take APS barb rather than APS sin/BM (for soloing/duo)

Forum is full of APS barb questions,but none gives answers to these questions,and i can't ask if everyones fighting.

Not everything is easily soloable. With good gears and work however most things can be solo'd. The things worth soloing are TT3-x and that's practically it lol. If you want to you can also solo lunar relic and drake paths and bring an r9rr or high refine g16 archer to do stationary bosses.

Don't forget your axes for soloing; being flexible as to when to use each weapon is pretty important.

The clear best class to duo with is cleric. BP heals more than BB but the perma invoke + barb HP and def Skills ( legit invoke and solid shield, for example) makes your life incredibly easy.

On the other hand keep an army of sage buff alts, too.

As a clawbarb it is important to not always be standing. You won't outdamage the sins, but you have the advantage of stomp of the king. Your spark combo will thus look more like devour, sotk, trip spark, swap mode and weapon and start aps. This gives you a 200-300k damage worth of aggro lead. With high refine G16 claw/ fist you will hold aggro very comfortably. It also takes a mere second to swap axes, use untamed wrath and spark to give yourself a bit more of an aggro lead during the sin's spark animation ( if he is smart he will reapply rib strike, giving you time to start aps'ing again.)

Basically you want to keep gear swapping and modeshifting. It's a very intense playstyle but really pays off at the end. Don't be caught in either a pure aps mindset or a pure tiger mindset. Keep moving and keep thinking. Ofc if your sin has -int r8r chest and boots and r9rr +12 dags with full deity stone then just turn into a regular vit barb role and keep supporting.

As to why barb n not bm....barb r9 has -int enough to keep 5 aps with 3 pieces r9rr. Nuff said, if tiger option, invoke, frighten and solid shield aren't reason enough.

Haila - Sanctuary

1. Can beat almost everything with bloodpaint, when you cant beat it, make a cleric to duo with and u can. If you like playing alone or enjoy farming TT and lunar alone its worth it.

2. Best duo partner for me is cleric, sin, bm in that order.

3. Everybody can hold aggro with the best DD power, so if you have the power you can XD

4. When we look at these 3 aps classes with pro gears, i think sins are the champions. Sin/BM are the champions in TT when duoing. And barbs are 2nd best aps class with best HP/defense (with r999 pieces).

Actually you are right there is no reason to take an aps barb over sin or bm when i think about it XD, but the barb can tank more in the early stages and go in tiger when needed.
As for pvp issues i realy dont think 140 dex more over str/vit is such a big disadvantage, we get 7 more crit and better accuracy as a lil compensation b:chuckle

Hello, First i was a full vit barb, then aps for 2 years, then full vit, now full strength 870 strength or something XD.

Yes its possible, and yes you can make good money.

2.What's best class to duo with?
Sin with bloodpaint, or bm with HF, Sins are good because they have rib strike which will make your tanking very easy.

3.Is its possible to hold aggro from squad while standing
If you have highest aps, refine you can hold aggro with aps. Sins CAN do more dmg but they can always hold back.

4.Is there any reasons to take APS barb rather than APS sin/BM (for soloing/duo)
Barbs can have MORE aps, and be more tanky with less gear. Bms don't get interval on their rank 9 whereas barbs do.

What are examples an aps barb will excel over a non?

At this point if you are a barb, enough "other" ppl usually bring aps damage, and I would not say for sure it would be worth it. Last thing to note is that dext does not go to waste, but gives you accuracy and lots of crit, which both help your armgeddon a lot.
