For the pet lovers: what gender is your pet?

Someone in my faction's forums made a thread today with an interesting question.
We have all these pets; have you ever thought what gender they are?

I know people who actually name their pets probably have a set gender in mind when they do so but why did you choose to give that gender to your pet?



I'll start the discussion with talking about my main pets (and pets I have in the bag at the moment, still sorting what to keep/evolve and what to remove)!

- Hercules (Atlas), obviously looks like a male.
- Phoenix (Candy) was originally going to consider is as a female but it was a gift from my game husband so I decided to name it after his in-game name so my Phoenix ended up being a male.
- Harpy (Althea), obviously a female.
- Hatchling (Wakalari), to me it looked like a male even though it's just bones, so I went with that.
- Kowlin (Midnight), for me the Kowlin has always been a female.
- Windwalking Piggy (Cupcake), definitely a female for me.
- Shaodu Cub (Dodo), I considered it a male.

Magmite (I started veno way before fish's expansion so never bother to go get glacial since I was attached to my magmite xD)

Illusory Thorn has to be a male cause he's such a p***k!
Fantastical Angelfish is an Hermaphrodite and fantabulous!
Imperial Skeleton is non-sexual
Eldergoth Marksman -He grunts, scratches his head, and has man in the name.
Scorpion is female because it's always got it's tale up assuming the position.
Heliacal Phoenix is male because male birds tend to be flamboyant.

Personally I always referred my Nix as a female - since I've given the name Chula *which means cute in Spanish b:cute*

Hm, I would assume my Kowlin to be a male.
Hercy - male.
Baby bear - female so that Chula's not the only female in the group LOL.

Herc is definitely a male. Look at how it plops it's fat *** and rubs it's tummy all the time! Hungry man is an angry man, that's why it tanks so well. xoxo

Harpy is female. Duh, it's so gorgeous and pretty. And has a partial female head LOL.

Phoenix.... I've never thought of the nix gender. Probably female. Cause I'm for the female race.

For those saying Herc is male; have you ever looked up it's skirt or gazed upon it's golden chestztzs? If that isn't enough, can you not see it's in the third tri-mester of being pregnant; hence the belly rubbing?

All my pets are male(Muffins, Big man, Pew-Pew and Chomper), except for my ninetails, it's a she.

Nice question but all pets that I've right now on my veno I always considered them as males:
Dark Wanderer - it's my personal "death" so male.
Glacial Walker - male.
Kowlin - male. I still have to give it a nice name x)

Puppy ~ no name yet ~ i got a puppy cuz its cute and i can evolve it.

i have others in bank. Got 1 non battle pet and 2 mounts.

Some of the pets I didn't even consider being opposite gender ;o
Like.. My Shaodu is surely a male bear, I called him Martini, Windwalking piggy is a lady b:chuckle called Tequila, Cuddly Pup is a male doggy, Brian (for the sake of Family Guy), Tabby is a male, little Mittens. Kowlin is a male - Slayer, Armored bear is the daddy of shaodu b:pleased - Cursy.

Hmm if I'll finally get the legendary pets (one one one one day) I'll call my nix Poke and herc will be Homer (herc is surely male, nix is female imo).

Oh oh and the skeleton dino :O Shall call him Boner b:laugh

That's about it for now... Haven't bin able to find a cute water pet yet (there aren't many water quests for my lvl anyway)... And if I ever manage to get a Phoenix (evolved too afcourse), I'd call her Shana and she'd be a Female... f:cute

Btw, am I the only one that still hates the fact that some tamable mobs have a huge quality drop after you made them your pet? I've noticed this with Undines and Foxwings especially a long while ago... They look really great as mobs, but once you hatch them, it's really disappointing to see them being PS1 quality or something... f:sweat

Yeah, I've always hated that f:worry I know why they did this but it still sucks.

This may sound corny, but all my pets have names that begin with M, like mine. It started a few years back when I first created this veno and the first pet I named was one of those little Rhinodrakes that are outside of Lost... I named her Molly, I loved her so much (silly, I know b:surrender). and from then on all my pets had M names. Here are all the others I've had (past and present) that I can remember:

Rhinodrake Plainswalker - Molly (F) egged/trashed
Antelope Pup - Malice (F) egged
Sable Minkii - Melantho (F) egged/given away
Skatefish - Mystery (F) egged
Dark Knight - Murder (M) given away
Jaden Qingfu - Meinhard (M) egged
Glacial Walker - Magma (M)
Kowlin - Mehira (F)
Cuddly Pup - Mania (M)
Tabby Plumdrop - Martini (M)
Shadou Cub - Macabee (M)
Celestial Plumpfish - Monty (M)

And IF I were able to name my mount, I'd name it Magenta (it's the purple anniversary fox mount :P )

All my pets are named after Lovecraft Great Old Ones...generally neutral

I've never even thought about that to be honest, since gender plays no role in PWI when it comes to monsters. Anyway, I have 3 pets besides my lovely Hellhound, and they are:

Hercules - Patronus (obviously named after HP)

Infernal Eidolon (I'm not sure if it's the correct name, it looks like a flying orange and is mostly useless, but as I rarely fight flying mobs I don't need a better pet for that)

Celestial Plumpfish (I didn't have a water pet for a loooong time since I didn't have moneyz for it, but since my lovely factionmate was so generous and bought me a cage, I now have one ^^)

Vedovis - Lost City

My herc is called Bessie, and she is a very pretty lady b:cute

Nayely - Sanctuary

herc - devotion - male
nix - desire - female
tabby - maka - female
frog - keroro - male

Ilyania - Lost City

My Herc is named Rambo, therefore a male. He is Bessie's (Vedovis' Herc) lover ;o

My Valiant Protector is Nickolas, named after my wonderful hubby~ Takes after him x3

Toxic my Drizzy is Male as well, named after a friend's character.

My dino pet is named Zekrom, a legendary Pokemon. Since it's all bones...It's genderless.

Finally, my Nix is Yveltal, another Pokemon. Since it became so pretty, I decided it's a she

If I had to choose for my mount, a void panther, it would female and be named Eris. I also have a name for my flier, Waning Cloud, it's Eios and is female.

Chelestine - Heavens Tear

I'm one of those boring cheap venos that don't have many different pets coz my pet bags so small.. All of them are male though, funny enough I haven't found any feminine ones yet. If I ever got a Nix or Harpy, that would be it though.

My herc is very much inspired by this, took me no more than 10 seconds to figure out his name when I got him... Gotta love em big and plumpy!
