My celestial gainy has reflect, claw, magical def, and phy def for his 4 skills. He has a self heal and the skill to cast roar per hit. He is my go to pet for anything anymore. I was wanting a tanky but.can do some damage pet.
My question is this: ia wondering since he is melee and mainly takes physic hits if i could take off the magical def skill and replace it with blessing (increaaed hp) so he would be more tanky and i vould go longer b4 healing him.
Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions?
Please and thank you

Hmm not sure to be honest.
The Hercules has kinda low-ish magic defence compared to the other legendaries for example so the buff helps a lot. You'll also encounter a lot of magic monsters anyway, especially if you really are using it as a main pet for pretty much everything.
I wouldn't remove Protect if I were you. I'm considering getting Bless for mine but right now it has Bash so it's not big deal for me to delete said skill. It would be a shame to delete Claw although I think it's a little unnecessary to the Hercules, especially with the boost it gets now. Just my opinion though.[SIGPIC]http://i.imgur.com/MtwcqjL.png[/SIGPIC]

I'd replace Claw, and like Desdi would not remove Protect. If you want a dd/ tanking pet; that's what Imperial Skeleton, Phoenix, and Harpy are for.
Herc has much better aggro holding than before. I just used it to solo some Brim and Eden bosses. The extra tankiness it already got along with the aggro skills; gives me the extra time to dd; and that's with a G16+12 weapon and not stealing aggro.
Herc's hits are already light. You're better off imo building on it's strengths.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -
I got claw about a few days b4 the released anything about the pet update. I was like he cant keep aggro from me with bash so eh *** it ill just get claw and not have to worry about changing his set skill yo use every time i use him. I was rying to figure out if the gain in hp would counter the loss of magical def or if it didnt. Since mostly everything 100+ attack is based on where one who has aggro is and most damage he would be taking is physical.0

I doubt you're seeing much improvement with claw when it comes to aggro: Bash would work better for that.
Here's a description of one of the aggro mood skills (Howl):Attacks all targets within a radius of 12 meters, causing physical damage equal to 100%, and holding aggro on targets. Amount of Aggro depends the level of skill and the pet's maximum HP.
Note how it's based off pet's maximum HP.
-Got that with the confident mood, so it includes Provoking:Has a 30% to attract all targets around the pet. Higher level, greater threat.
Using a +12 G16 weapon and being very happy with the Herc's aggro ability!
I wouldn't make a hasty decision based off what I say. I myself would be hesitant to remove any legendary skill from any pet, though I have a couple times.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -
I'm thinking of replacing bash on my celestial giant with threaten (at least until I can get bless); the giant's special skill generates more aggro than bash ever did (and mine has staunch at the moment, which has a self-heal and defense level buff).[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Well the reason i decided to go learn claw and forget bash wasnt for aggro. As i said i b4 it was because herc could not keep aggro with bash b4 the update so i was getting annoyed having to click to set bash as the used skill. Sounds nooby doesnt it? So i was like ehh ill get aggro anyways ill just boost his base damage and not worry about the skill. Im trying to geta good stats roll atm. I have provoking and a self heal as mood skills right now. He keeps aggro fine with provoking and the aoe skill which i love when he tanks, a constant 15% damage reduction. xD
Provoking is the key to tanking with him tho. With my roll of stats, claws add a good 1.5k damage onto each attack. It sounds low but on a boss its pretty good. I hit about 10 to 15k on most bh100+ bosses (full t3 glaive+10). My herc normal does about 8k damage with claw. I like having claw on him its less remembering to click bash. I just buff up and put normal attack to the aoe and go.
But ik i was stupid to put claws on my herc but hell i love it.. XD less skill clicking. My reasoning is lacking.i know and is dumb but i enjoy not having to click on either bash or the aoe skill.
I really do not want to spend money and time on another pet. Yeah i dont mind spending time in dragon temple to get blessing. I have a cub at 100 because he was my pet til i got my herc.and i wanted him to be 100 with me. I really don't have a good idea of.pets need to know.ig. herc knows claw andy club knows reflect xD i think i try make one pet do the all the roles xD0
