Did you guys farm or just bought R9? I mean I merchant, but somehow not sure whether I should just be saving every month and pretend PWI is subscription based, to get the R9 in the future.

I copied Desdi's font color. It's too pretty. Forgive me Desdi b:thanks

Farmed/merched here. Bought all of the chips and three medals on 1/2 sale. The rest of the medals on the normal 80 gold for 5 sale.

People are more inclined to say they purely farmed and merchanted for their r9, and while it is certainly possible, the truth is that most buy it and even those who did farm usually got some other outside help or CSd a little.

One thing you should keep in mind is that R9 isn't like Nirvana or HH in the aspect that materials for it can be directly farmed.

All farming or merchanting you do will be to get coin and buy gold in the AH or buy materials from other players who obtained them through use of gold. It is something that can only be obtained through the cash shop, by one means or another.

Because of this, i suggest you find out what is most efficient for you. If you farm for 4 hours and make yourself 30,000,000 coins, congratulations you basically just worked for $3.25 an hour. Hopefully the fun of farming in game outweighs the significantly superior returns from working for it in real life (even at minimum wage)

Pure speculation isn't it? Maybe it's that people who cs'd don't care to contribute to threads like this.

HH? You got the right game?

    I don't get the point.

You leave out how when you make more; you move to higher tax bracket and further help a warmongering oppressive government. The expenses of getting ready for, commuting, and recovering from work. The increased rate of work related injuries for people who work over full time.

I'd rather not take employment from someone who might actually need it. I prefer to do something that makes me happy rather than work for the lowest someone can possibly pay someone to work.

Wow, this is a refreshing outlook. I've never looked it that way. Okay, I might be reading this wrong, but you're suggesting, that if you've got some cash to spare, it might be more efficient to just CS right?

I'm not being sarcastic. I genuinely think that it's a very different, refreshing perspective.

On my mystic I farmed/merch my R9, but I had a good timing and started it when NW came out and was still giving a lot of money, now nw give way less money, but people still can farm it in game if they are patient. =)

HH = Holy Hall, its basicly a different name for TT = Twilight Temple.

When i ask ppl, how they got their r9 stuff, 99% of the responses are merc or farmed it purely.
Most of the time it isnt true at all and they CSed it, maybe not everything but they did.
Some cs more, some cs less and thats fine with me.

I CSed for my r9 too, not too much but a bit was bought in the 1/2 sale and the 20% sale few months back.

Well, it looks like an unexpected event occurred and I can participate in this thread now.

During this 2x I've been farming with my game husband like mad and the plan was to use the coin farmed to get R999 for my Venomancer. However, my game husband surprised me and decided to pull coin out of his pocket, so to speak, and get me R999 earlier than planned (mainly due to the recent sales we had).

We're still farming until the 2x ends and we're basically trying to farm back the coin spent on my R999 now.
So, to answer your question, R9/R999 is farm-able/merchant-able but depends on what kind of things you can farm and what kind of things you are able to merchant. It's not something everybody can do and sometimes you do need a little help from someone...like in my case.

Almost exclusively on LT and HL, because many of the original players on LT came from PW-MY, where it was Holy Hall (and refugees from LT brought the term to HL, so there the term is 2 generations away from its origin.) Similarly, the Valley of Reciprocity aka Rebirth has never been Godless Valley on PWI, yet the same PW-MY refugees call it GV for no good reason that relates to PWI other than nostalgia for the old days on another version (is PW-MY still alive, or has it shut down?)

I never play other version than PWI before and call that GV.

If you think you are better than tell me why people call that RB or Delta, that's not even close to the name of the cave. If you really want to play at ''GV is not the real name'' than call if VoR cause Valley of Reciprocity is the name of the cave, it's not Delta or RB either.

Same with FF, some servers call that FF for what reason? The Forgotten Frostland? It's the name of a place on the map not of the cave, the cave is call Frostcovered City, so FC and FCC make sens, but not FF.

By the way, LT? Is that a new server you created? Cause I never heard of that server.

We (respectful people) don't call it HH because it isn't HH. PWI is updating and could someday come out with an instance with those initials (notice I didn't say another instance). PWI is a business, and needs to tolerate stuff like this, but if you were as rude on my own forum (non pw related) ; you'd get a warning then a ban. -I care for information only and HH is not information that pertains to PWI.
prove what? That TT used to be HH ages ago? lol

    This:
Most of the time it isnt true at all and they CSed it, maybe not everything but they did.

Until you can substantiate the claim; you only come across as a failure that can't accept that other people can do what you couldn't.

Someone mentioned they make 10m a day as merchant (I'm sure this figure is lower than many). I make a little over that on average w/o. The real coin is in being a merchant; it's just not my bag. You can see merchants all over Archosaur and remote places like thousand streams.

I chose not to go with R9 for some simple reasons:

    I'm PvE only
I can acct stash non rank equips
For a small investment: I'm already tanking BH SoT, Aba, Metal, Lunar, etc while noobie R9'rs with much more investment are totally dependent on others.

-I can however see that people can easily obtain R9 w/o cash.

You would give me a warning for saying, that ppl called TT HH back then, because players maybe switched from MY to PWI and stayed at the name they are used to? Well i think your forum isnt going to last long lol.
Also this wasnt rude at all, just pointing this out:

This is what i would call a little rude, dont you think?

Also you will most likely hear from people, that the farmed or merched theyr equipment (Most of the time r9) and did it. I know some people who farmed most of it.
Then there are people, who just CSed it but they still say, they farmed it, because it doesnt sounds like "i have no idea, what im doing"
And there are the people, who are honest and say, that they CSed it and maybe farmed a little here and there but just a bit.

Third one is very rare and the first one it the most common, do you notice something? Yea when it goes like this, around 90% farmed it, thats just wrong :P

I dont need to prove it, prove me, that im wrong. b:pleased

By the way, LT? Is that a new server you created? Cause I never heard of that server.

Rebirth Order: Alpha through Delta. The name of item required to go inside the instance. I used to have this opinion, but after changing servers and getting rejected from squads and "schooled" when I accidentally call it FC instead of FF because people are so convinced that's the real name, I no longer hold that opinion. If people called it by it's actual name, I wouldn't have had such annoying experiences just because I am from a different server.....In truth, it would not have happened if the newer servers had stuck to the old terms either. Just as long as people all called it the same thing. But if everyone called it the same name, it would make more sense to call it by it's actual name since that's what it's called on majority of servers.

    @OP

To answer your question, while there are many, many, many people that got their R9 from the cash shop. There are many people loathe to admit because of the negative stigma and treatment they receive from having cashed their gear. That's why pretty much every r9 and their mom claims they farmed it and merchanted it. When realistically speaking, PWI wouldn't have so many rank 9 sales if it wasn't a hotly purchased items the same as packs. It's pretty obvious by how hard they push it they are making good money on it. So a good portion of people must have spent money on at the very least some of it. That being said, there are a TON of people that HAVE farmed and merchanted it. And there are plenty of players who team up to get each other R9 by farming for first one persons gear then the others. Often married couples. It just depends on the person really. And there isn't any one answer to this question.
