Right now, is it still worth buying the hercules?? If i were to buy gold, should i get the Battle Pet packs and open them or sell the gold and use the money to buy SoFs?

Right now, with battle pet packs on sale for 8 gold for 50, you'll spend on the average about 58 gold for a herc using battle pet packs (and converting phoenix feathers to source of force at a pet manager.) You'd have to find a really good deal on source of force to do better (and the bulk source of force from the boutique, while more time efficient that opening ~362 battle pet packs, cost more.)

For me a long time ago i found it easier to get the battle pet packs. It was cheaper for me and i only used about 50-70G to get my Herc and later on i bought my nix for 65m when there was this crazy *** sale.

Wow, I wasn't aware that hercules/nix costed around 68 gold with that sale on battle pet packs. Definitly open packs instead of buying the bulk.

I'll just add to what's been said;
Yes. Hercules is still worth it. It remains as the best tanking pet and gets an even better boost once you evolve it at lvl100.

It's good for soloing things, tanking bosses, soloing instances etc.

So worth it imo. With Confidence for mood after evolved; it's like having a real barb that can hold AoE aggro. It made a solo divine quest run so much funner, faster, easier for me.

Well, not a real barb, but.

I just evolved the herc (did the nix first) and wow.

I'm killing off Blackhole Devourer (BHD) like he's a boss from 59 or something. Three or four spells between heals.

Jewelscalen (the pimp dragon. C'mon, he's purple, named jewels, and always has two lady dragons following him) is caker than cake. (Though he was always killable if you lured to ground)

Krimison Eyes? Mister "I have an axe that hates pets"? Solo'd. Ok, I had to practically chain-heal for most of it, but still.

The new herc makes me feel like a venomancer again. I'm all powerful! And, yeah, I look even stupider with that ugly yellow blob doing the "Hey, I'm on a cloud but I have a sort of walking animation" shimmy.

He hits a bit harder than before, too - though massively.

I've always kind of poked fun of hercs before 'cause HA and stuff
But this is kewl and makes me respect hercs lots more.

(well as much as you can say you respect somethig in a game without it sounding weird but you know what I meant OTL)

What're your herc's stats, by the by..? I'd look to see if you posted them already but I have to clean stairs today before an aunt comes over.

Definitely get the battle pet packs. They're really better than getting the SoF. Just the opening of those packs is gonna be rather annoying. I think I spent an hour just opening pets.

The sale now is still worth it, I got mine in stages, and it's worth. I'm only 85, but heard a lot about how awesome it is after evolution.

Also notice that they don't have a Pack equivalent for Harpy and Monkey King?

They want you to spenddddddd. LOL.

A veno friend of mine just said that the annoying General Wurlord in TT2-3 is soloable with an evolved Herc in squad mode. Which to me is like whoa! So yes, definitely a worthy investment.

This doesn't mean everyone's Celestial Giant will be able to do it. There's a lot of variations on the evolved pets.

Considering I'm hardly the best geared veno and my celestial giant could tank 2-3 Wurlord, I think most could.

There's a lot of variations on the evolved pets

-Not all variations are gear dependent.

My Herc is a beast ... can pull whole vots aoe area with evolved herc and he tanks it and heals him self. His mood came as Impetuous which comes with an aoe taunt and a 30% chance to 9% self heal. Buffed with Neubian Bless from base he has 8k hp. My gear is +10 Nirv stage3. Hes also tanked anything I tried so far, if I heal him, including any warsol boss. I haven't reworked him at all. Most stats are mid but def lvl is very low still which means hes going to get better!

Ok, wow. Just tried it and yep, you're right. Harc can hold off every single Avalanche guy in OVS at once. 30+ mobs, without breaking a sweat. Ok, they don't hit that hard, and I'm not convinced it's a *useful* thing to do. But wow.

Congratulations on your herc. I know it's annoying levelling from level 1, just think of how awesome it's gonna be for your BHs, TTs, FFs, and when it evolves, you can solo so many instances.

I'm loving that mood and feel very lucky to have gotten it by default. Brought an archer friend to do a card boss in Eden and was pulling mobs off him and keeping them off probably better than I could as a Barb, and he's a very aggressive player.

Kinda funny to see that many clerics aren't adapting to people becoming more independent (Chroma-spammers).

Barb can tank far more, and move much faster; Giant just got a great aggro improvement if they get this mood.

:Herc isn't going to round up mobs and solo them until squad shows up like barb can. My example was just me and an archer so we were limited to small amounts of mobs at a time.
