Hi! I have been reforging my Rank 8 weapon.

I need some math help.

Will 20 Def Level, And Reduce Physical Damage taken by 5 %, and Reduce Magical Damage taken by 5% be a better weapon than one with 25 defence levels?

If I had a dime for every time I was wrong, I'd be broke.

MY Friend's barb has 27 defence levels, 208 hp, and 15 strength on his weapon, without including his jades.

Reduce damage taken % is actually more effective than defense levels in most cases. The downside being it only affects one type of damage. I would gladly trade all of my defense levels for reduce physical damage taken % if I could.

b:dirty They should come out with new shards for reduce damage taken +2%

I recasted my weapon and it came out with 23 Defence Levels, 40% Accuracy, Reduce Magical Damage taken by 4%, Reduce Physical Damage Taken by 5%.

I am not entirely sure about the formula, but i think defence levels end up doing something like increasing your effective hitpoints by that amount of percent. I do not want to use the term diminishing returns because that is not exactly correct. However point is that 100 defence levels will not reduce your damage to zero. (but i think to 50%)

reduce damage taken i really dont know and it matters much less because you wont get a very high number on this. But it may be simply adding up the numbers and then truly reducing damage by that amount. Meaning in the hypothethical situation where youd have 100%, you would be imune to damage.

If this is true, then 1 def level or 1% damage reduce would not really matter, but as the numbers get higher, damage reduction would get better because it would have increasing returns.
Does anyone know for certain if this is true, ? or does damage reduce have a similar formula like def levels ?

would be nice for the next levels of overpowered gear. After they started out with defence and then more and more defence levels, they could make r10 have some high numbers of damage reduction and totally break the game again when, and of course preferably only one or a few classes, can get this over 90% b:laugh

Think 100 def levels over the attacker's atk level divides received damage by 2.2 so you'd take 45%.

Usually R9 3rd will have more than 100 atk lv though.

Think the calculation is as such

    1) (p/m)atk vs (p/m)def
    2) (p/m) damage reduction
    3) atk/def lvl comparison
