For a newer system, pretty much anything mid range to high range made in the last 1-3 years with at least 4GB of system RAM, a dedicated video chipset by nVidia or AMD/ATI with 1GB of video RAM. Windows 7 suggested. b:victory

you have no idea how hard it is to get a new PC especially a laptop with win 7 lol - that f.... win 8 is everywhere :( I had to pay 100$ extra for a laptop just beacuse I asked to replace win 8 with win7 professional

and get at least 8 GB of RAM, 4GB is enough for 2 pwi clients.. and nothing more

Yup, pwi does even run fluently with max. graphic on a 10 year old desktop system. If you get a new one, ensure that it has an additional graphic card (not only on-board), to be prepared for other, newer games.

New computer depends on your pocket. For some new computer = 300 dollars, for others it means 3 000 dollars.

    Things to keep in mind....

    1. PWI will only use one CPU core, don't care how many you have.

    2. PWI doesn't use your GPU for processing graphics, just displaying them. Anything much past an 8800GT 512MB is overkill.

    3. PWI won't use more than 2GB of RAM. In fact, it will crash once it gets a bit over 1.8GB. You do want a minimum of 4GB if you're going to run Vista or newer for the OS though.

So basically, you can pick up a cheap refurbished laptop that's just a few years old for less than $300 and it will run PWI beautifully.

It's pretty hard to buy a new-ish PC these days that can't handle PWI. I mean really, the game engine is approaching 10 years of life now.

As an IT-Technician I can only suggest you go for an AMD-APU like the A10-5800k. It's cheap as hell and runs PWI perfectly fine with maxed out settings. It's power consumption is overviewable as well.

Build a PC around this APU for around 360 Euro ~ 420$ and this System runs perfectly and you can use it for anything multimedia related too and some other games as well =P

BTW: This way you are still uptodate with modern technology.

TBH: I wouldn't buy any old **** just because PWI runs on it. Happens too many times that 3-4 year old systems that were actually pretty good just going puff and then you stand there with nothing. There is enough up to date low cost hardware that is perfectly fine for PWI. Check amazon for very cheap Systems. I'm sure you find something there, especially if you look for AMD A10-5800k =P .

PS: I'm not an AMD fanboy, I always use Intel, but you can't deny the power you get for that low cost.
