TW revamp idea

Me and a couple of faction friends were just talking about how cool it would be if Territory Wars took place in the actual territory you were fighting for. Imagine how exciting it would be to attack Plume, with huge battles up in the tree or two factions fighting it out in the streets of Archosaur. The crystal could be in the centre of Arch where the platform is.
I'm sure this will have been suggested before but i'll post anyway. It would add so much more to TW rather than the same instance every week and could be very dynamic. For example, territories like Archosaur which is the most fortified city in PWI could be the hardest to attack (with all those walls and guards) and yield the most weekly coin for owning it.
I also think the height limit should be removed from TW (at least like in NW). It makes sense in the current TW instance (kind of) but if we could fight in cities and towns there could be turrets on the top of hills and aerial combat instead of just all on the ground.
Also, each territory could have different turret placements and the diverse terrain between each land would make each war a new experience and require different battle tactics. I'm aware there is probably issues with this which is the reason it hasn't been done, it would be nice to hear if people think it's possible or why it isn't. After all this is just a suggestion. I just think the most ultimate, awesome wars are the ones that take place in cities, but due to them being safe zones we can't have pk battles in them.
I also think NW should be a 24/7 pvp farming instance that you can take part in any time (solving issues of time zones and OP individuals dominating it at all times) with a fixed NPC price of the rewards so the prices don't drop too far. Also, the nations should be permanent for each character in this case (and given randomly to each player to stop everyone from joining a certain nation, which would prevent the OP people all choosing to be together and keep the numbers between nations equal). This would also make people actually interested in the welfare of their nation and help with capturing the flag instead of pking for points for their own benefit.
I think this would be better because at the moment NW is basically like TW except the nation you're in means nothing and it is between four groups instead of two. However, i know a good income for F2P players will never happen so i won't make an independent thread for this idea.
Thanks for reading all this text and i look forward to seeing if you guys like these ideas or not.

Hehe I admit the TW revamp idea is an interesting one but in application would be a nightmare b:shocked . First the battle could not take place on the main map because of too many bystanders making things laggy and unworkable (people would be in the way of the battle). b:laugh Could u imagine a PvP ANYTHING happening in west arch with all those catshops b:surrender. There is also a possible problem of people (and mobs/world bosses) interfering with a battle if it occurred on the main map
Even if they made instanced versions of the territories (a likely major strain on the servers), there would be major problems with the victory/defeat conditions. So the defending faction gets the city as their base? If so what about the Attacking Faction? Part of the whole point of the TW battle instance as it is was to make a somewhat fair battle. If one faction has a city the attacking faction would have a much weaker defense (structure wise) making the battle very unfair.
I almost wish the TW revamp idea was feasible but it just doesn't work from what i can see.
b:laugh Although I would LOVE to see people prove me wrong with this0 -
Ah very true, you have lots of valid points. When i first thought of the idea i imagined the territories in their own instances like OHT is an instance of HT but i suppose all those instances would make the server more laggy, even if there were no people in them? I don't see a way it could work on the main map like you said.
For the problem of fair battles, there could be an equal number of towers between attackers and defenders. The attackers could have their towers placed all around the outskirts of the territory and have different spawn points among these towers that are much easier to take out than the defenders crystal. Once all the spawn points are destroyed, the defenders win and each spawn point destroyed stops enemies spawning there so they can't attack from that angle again. This allows the attackers to attack on all fronts but be more spread out and the defenders have to defend all fronts but be tighter packed together. This might balance it out a bit? At the same time making attacking/defending actually relevant to the battle, so if your faction is attacking one week and defending the next they will be very different experiences for you.0
