How do I create a faction icon using Gimp??

I've seen so many different post and they all were using photoshop. I'm not saying Gimp doesn't work the same but for some reason it doesn't work for me and I'm pretty sure I did everything it said it required f:cry . I made it 16x16, I added an alpha channel, RGB color mode, 32 BIT A8 R8 G8 B8 etc. I followed this link:

But it was hard for me to follow since the display pictures were deleted f:sweat . I also went to the wiki guide. Does anyone know a thread that has just about the same information as the link I posted above that has pictures that aren't erased? Could I please get a link to it? I would also like to know, how long does it take for the icon to pend? f:confused

Side Note: Yes it is a level 3 guild. I am a 101 mystic, name Tsuma_Yin and I am the leader of the guild. Thanks in advance!
