Combo Skills - Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't

Getting aggravated to death using combo skill sets. Sometimes they work and everything is great, and sometimes my character just does the first spell or two and then stands there doing nothing. Is this just a glitch or something? I read something about they'll stop if they get interrupted or the spell doesn't rewind fast enough, but this spell has a 1-second cooldown for crying out loud and is not getting interrupted because I dueled myself and had my other character just stand still. How do I make it work!?!? Why does it only work sometimes and then randomly break later (sometimes resaving it makes it work again but right now the character will only do the spell twice in a row, then just stop and not do anything else).

    Sounds like you're trying to have an endless repeat of a single skill, something I've never gotten to work even if the skill has a cooldown equal to the casting time. (I don't think there's any with shorter casting time than cooldown.)

    What will work is alternating two short cooldown skills (say, great cyclone and plume shot for cleric), interspersing long cooldown skills with short cooldown skills in a long, complex macro (works for me on veno) or interspersing auto-attacks with skills (works for melee classes.)

    There are some skills that will halt a macro no matter what (form changes like foxform/trueform, assassin's deep sting and tackling slash, I'm sure I'm missing a few) and increasing your channeling speed can mess up a previously working macro.

    It can also be screwed up if a skill gets interrupted in some way. By default it goes to the next skill, but if you normally would have a skill that takes 1.5 seconds to channel and another .8 seconds to cast, and instead gets interrupted after .3 seconds, you can wind up back at a skill still in cooldown much earlier than normal.

    Also, make sure you don't have a channeling buff you weren't counting on. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why my psy's aoe macro wouldn't work one time until I realized I was in a RB and was channeling faster.

    Look at how much chi each skill takes up/builds. When you're looking at marcos, it doesn't show when each skill gets blacked out.

    Also, some of the sage/demon skills don't have chi gain/use chi 100% of hits.
