Idea Bouncing time

So I finally decided to go hard or go home since my rank 8 recast is now...Well, ****. It was good when I got it before t3 Nirv came out, and I even got it to +10 on every piece of it, but with all the new gear, it's time to go r9. I'm already in the process, but now I come across a situation.
So here's some info on my BM. I am a sage axe build BM, however I maintain my 150 dex base. The reason for this is the accuracy and added crit. Nothing can change my base dex, I like it where it is. However, because of this my single target DPS is very, very low. I mean, it's miserable how low it is. People don't even see my damage on bosses because of my axe spam. Yes, the DPH is great, but it's so slow. Bosses take ages to solo.
So now here I sit going r9t3 with a full set of r8r at +10, and even holding some vits in the chest. Then, an idea struck me. I have some leftover t2 Nirv gear still from when I was going to go Nirv t3 (then NW happened) and my old t2 Nirv legs from back in my days of being a demon APS BM. I've not forgotten how awesome the APS was on a boss.
One day, while thinking to myself and brainstorming with a friend, Iw ascontemplating how I could keep my r8r in use after I go t3 r9. The first idea was to keep it for 1v1 situations where my r8r would make us equals instead of facing everyone in faceroll-i'm-r9-and-you-aren't. However, as we talked it got a bit further than that, so here's what I'm bouncing at you guys.
As of now my r8r boots add vit and str. If I reroll this to add at least 20 dex (2 dex adds) this puts me at 170 dex. I can also reroll the chest for interval and pray I also get dex, but we won't rely on that. If I get myself an interval cape this tosses me at at least 176 dex. Now I can make a second Nirv HA helm (I'm keeping mine t2) and make it t3 and reforge it until I get exactly 12 dex, or I can reforge the same helm into an LA helm and be guaranteed a 12 dex or more. If I do the latter I also won't need to land perfect dex on my r8r boots.
Basically, should I turn my r8r into something like this? http://www.pwcalc.com/efaab3d22041c53a
The reason for LA helm over HA helm is the guaranteed dex adds and save on coin fee to reforge and save badges and EoD, and at about +5 the difference is only about 200 hp. I could also swap out ornies (Prolly the Lionheart if I do) for APSing bosses and boost me up from that 2.86 with cyclone heel to 3.33, but that would involve buying more TT99 gear, as if the helm wasn't already enough. (Before anyone says anything, NOT getting TT99 bracers/boots for this, I have better places to put my coin/farm time)
Me and my friend decided this would be a viable way for me to recycle gear and also not lose all my wasted refines. This puts me at the ability to use aps (though not the best in the world) without changing my 150 dex build. I also have yet to engrave my neck (waiting to t3 that thing) so if I manage to get dex on that, this becomes more viable.
I also do plan on eventually having the Dominance tome, so you can count on eventually having that interval there too, but that's quite a ways away yet...
Thoughts?

I think you're going to be happy with the full r9 set if you're a pure strength BM. It does lack dex adds, but oh well. Here is an r9 set in pwcalc since they've yet to add the actual stats to the build I added them myself.
So you can see from that build I'm rocking 560 strength and 184 dex. With ring engravings I go up to 200 dex even. With aps gear I'm at 209 dex but only around 445 strength because I lose the set bonus.
My point is you'll have plenty of strength with axes even if you do remove some to add to dex. I think you're trying to minimize the effect of gear swapping so much you're going to create more problems for yourself.
First, grab your ring engravings and your neck engraving so you know how much more you need. If you get a strength add it may be cheaper to just add that to the cost of a restat, pull strength and add it to dex rather then reroll your ring over and over again LF dex add. So once you know how much dex you actually need restat. Pull vit and magic down to 3 (4 points for dex right there).
If you are in the process of rerolling your r8r boots and are lucky enough to get -int, keep it. That's well worth restating 20 dex from strength, especially for a sage where aps are so rare.
Have you considered taking your G15 Nirvana Vambraces up to G16? Its not much a gain but you may prefer some of the adds. You lose the 5 atk levels, gain 900 hp. You lose 10 vit, gain 80-150 hp. You lose 10 strength, but can reroll till you have 12. You lose 4% mdef but gain 180-280 mdef. You lose 4% pdef, but gain 4-10% pdef. G16 will also refine better and has 313 pdef and 135 mdef more in its base defenses. If you aim for 12 strength then you gain 2 stats there. Your choice obviously.
(totally ignores that cyclone would make you 3.33 aps if you were demon =p )Seven 100+ characters leveled the hard way. Free to play. Mystic, Psychic, and Wizard left to level. b:victory0 -

I think you missed a few points. This would be strictly for a boss fighting/chi gaining PvE scenario and I would not be having more than 150 dex otherwise it effects my PvP r9 build. I understand it's only 30 dex, but my OCD says gtfo with the 180 dex. 150 or 200, and I'll take 150. And don't get me wrong, my rings are engraved (until I upgrade them) with str on both. My neck won't be engraved until I upgrade it to the NW forge neck either, and even then, aiming for vit or str. It's more of a "If I get dex" scenario. Due to being for apsing and getting chi, the bracers would stay t2...
Basically it's the r9 as a PvP set and the r8r for itnerval as a PvE set (boss killing, chi gaining, etc) without changing my 150 dex. If it helps, here's my PvP set http://pwcalc.com/e218b3eb2dad65df
The 150 dex gives me good rounded numbers, I like that as is.It is said that apple pie is best served Al La Mode, so if you are the pie, consider me your ice cream.0 -

Guess I'm confused on why you linked your aps goal as using claws with 188 dex if you only plan on ever getting 150 dex. That's why I suggested 200. Even if you are using r8r claws with 150 dex req I'd suggest 160 dex, as it gives you 1% crit more and 200 accuracy (15% increase from your current 3000 accuracy) for just the 10 dex points.Seven 100+ characters leveled the hard way.
