Hey there,

Well its hard, to give this thread a name, so yea it kinda fits... kinda.

So here is the problem:
Sometimes, when i do stuff while dual clienting and even when doing only with one client open, the client gets kinda stuck, dont response, cant be closed, cant be killed with task manager and drives the cpu up to 100%.
Only a computer restart solves the problem. There is no error message, because the client dont crash, its just stuck, you cant play the game, the client doesnt close itself after some time (i had it run like this like 10mins, nothing happend) and whatnot.

What is that? Someone experienced this problem yet? Any solutions?

Yes i searched this forum but doesnt found any solution or even anything close to this, only with crash reports and and and.

My system:
Intel Core i5 3570k @ 4GHz
AMD Radeon HD 7850
8GB DDR3 Kingston Memory @ 1.866MHz
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

My initial guess would be security software locking client files and preventing the PC from using them.

What steps have you taken so far, and have you excluded the client directory from all security scans?

Well, as mentioned, i tried kill the client with the task manager, but didnt worked too well actually.
Computer reacts very slowly that time, cpu is at 100% usage but still, when im doing other stuff, that brings this cou to 100%, i can do way more and faster then, when the client just is stuck like that.

No i didnt tried it with the anti virus program but i really dont know, how to do that, i usually just install them and leave them alone after that, just do stuff with it, when i have stupid trojans on my computer or something, but thats not the case now, windows is just fresh and i do a check every week or two.

But i dont know, what you really mean with security software is locking my client. other than AntiVir i dont use such things on my computer.

Ok, well then you definitely need to check the support pages for the manufacturer of your antivirus and look for instructions on how to exclude the client files.

Most antivirus software will report a false-positive on some of the client files claiming that they have a trojan. This is incorrect, but once your antivirus cleans/quarantines the files, it causes problems with the client because it can't access them anymore.

This is why it's mentioned on the download page that you need disable your antivirus while installing and exclude the client directory afterwards.

After you have successfully excluded the client directory, you will need to verify the files 2 or 3 times and then reboot your PC.

    Hey,

So the problem is still active for me, now in x2, its pretty nasty to have.

Ive checked my Anti Virus and found a solution, which causes, that my Antivirus didnt check the client of the files at all.
    But its still like this.

For example, i solo 3-1 Ribbon Boss, client gets stuck, i die and have to restart my computer and everything.
Then i come back, login my Sin and my Cleric, buff myself and go in again. Knife Throw Steelation again, client gets stuck again.
In one 3-1 run i can easiely get stuck with the client twice, sometimes one, sometimes its fine, but most of the times one freeze of the client (only the client, the computer is fine, music still plays, teamspeak works fine too)

So i tried deinstalling the AntiVir programm and hoped, its get fixed with it.
Nope, still gets stuck countless times a day.

This is driving me nuts, seriously b:angry

Because of the memory leak in the client sometimes it gets stuck, normally doesn't happens to me but sometimes yea, post a copy of your dxdiag.txt that would be nice to diagonse your problem in a better way.
(Remember to use the [code] tags for the dxdiag info and to remove any trademark characters so it doesn't get cut off.) (CODE tag is the # symbol in the editor.)

    This??
    ...

Unfortunately, it got cut off halfway. you have got to remove all of the copyright and trademark characters. It may take a few edits to get it all fixed, and don't forget the CODE feature so it doesn't take over the thread.

Uninstall any 3rd party video codecs you have installed, and try it again. If it still locks up, verify at least twice, reboot and then tray again. If that fails, I'll need the Speccy report from the time when it crashes.

    3rd party video codecs?

    I dont use any.

Edit: Ah and i saw, that one from my two ram sticks might be broken, maybe its because of this..
I removed one and got no freezes so far, so maybe i found my source.

Ill check one ram stick this night, when im sleeping, when its ok, i test the second one. when none is broken, i dont know anymore lol.

I found this last time i got an bluescreen and read the error message...
