As a rule of thumb, channeling is like a box of chocolates - nice to have, but you dont really need it.
To specificly answer your question, it has been guesstimated that in the neighborhood of -24% is adequate.
There is a problem with end game gears, in the sense that Im not sure G16 will actually allow you -24%
You can maintain -6% channeling with Cloud Stir ring, and you can always use a pot for -%, but Im not sure how much -% channeling you can acquire on gears above R8.
Below and up through R8, you can easily gather -36% or more.
The main thing is you dont want to pass up good bonuses like PDef, Vit, etc, just to make sure you collect a big amount of -% channeling.
-100% channeling is useful, but its not your most important stat.0 -
Survival > channeling for mystics. We don't have such slow casting skills that it would make sense the other way around.
Besides, I'm in nearly full G16 now, and I can't say I miss any chan while the defense and hp is just amazing.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Don't really see much usefulness in channeling on mystics since you have like 2 skills with long channeling. And there's also Rapid Growth which reduces it.Youtube channel: youtube.com/user/FDB190

Yeah the only skills that really benefit from -channeling are Absorb Soul and Comforting Mist, and you'd need a lot of -channeling to see a big difference in them.0

If someone started with around -24%, and lost half of that (-12%), that's a negligible amount of channeling to miss with the human eye. The Awakened Archangel Sleeves and Cloud Stir ring would give a Mystic -12%.
I happen to use AS quite a bit, and with -36% channeling, I still use Rapid Growth. Even with Rapid Growth and channeling, the amount of lag ingame can make using AS or CM seem like neither -channeling nor Rapid Growth are doing anything to speed up those spells.
I agree with Xainou though. I like -channeling, and if my -36% disappeared tomorrow, Im sure I would miss it; but staying alive and hitting hard DD, and strong heals are vastly more important.0 -
As people said for TW, PVP and NW it's defense>chan.
I have the 3rd nirvy recast and get -21% chan, -6% from wrists, -6% each ring (lunar ring and R9 ring) and -3% from my 3rd recast glaive.
I see a difference from when I had hum I think that was 42% or something like that, but I have way better survivability. From my mystic it didn't really bother me that my chan drop, on cleric it does, but not on my mystic.
If you want you can get 2 lunar ring, it give 250 p.def and have the -6% chan. (each)[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
