best long-range class for soloing

Hi! I've just quit playing another MMORPG, and I'd like to start playing PWI. I posted this thread because I don't know which class would suit my stlye. Most of the time I'm soloing, I love long-range classes, I prefer magic ones but archer can also be an alternative.
I've read some guides and venomancer looks interesting but it can be only female and I don't like that -.- .

What class would you recommed for me? If you could post some pros/cons of it I'd be grateful.

I'd say Mystic. Self-buffs to reduce damage taken, hits like a truck, can self and group heal.

However, you can't play this game solo. Seriously, much of the game content requires you to be in a squad (someone will now say a sin can solo anything, but that only applies to geared-up-high-level toons).

depends on what you want to solo ranged.

if you mean bosses, you have to choose between (a) being a veno and letting your pet tank (that's way outdated and not cost-effective) (b) getting very high level/expensive gear (which kinda defeats the need to solo stuff; and you will still take a lot of time).

simply put, for bosses you either squad up with people (and even then, usually the tank is in melee range) or solo in melee range.

now, when it comes in grinding/quests/normal tasks any class can solo them.
