Get decent armor (late 7X molds, TT80)

    Get and refine MDEF ornaments

Get a wild mane mantle or cape of tauran chieftain for +250 MDef

Learn to cancel channeling reliably; I sit in pdef marrow 24/7 and cancel everything

Keep up-to-date pots and keep them handy

Maintain a spark or 2 to sutra with

    Find BP whenever you can

    Kill things faster

    Realize when to GTFO

What's your build? Back when I hit 80 years ago, I was 3 str 1 dex 1 vit axe build, and it was terrible. I switched to 3 str 2 dex axe/fist and things were so much easier with fists it was a colossal difference. Mobs die so much faster with fists plus you always have a spark to sutra with.

Besides the obvious of "better armor, better weapons, better refines, more aps, get good son..."

    ~Mdef ornies really help.
~Don't neglect current level rings and ring refines. The +physical attack add on them is as good as refines on your weapon, and when you refine your rings it increases your pdef.
~Learn your marrows. Sometimes that means experimenting and dieing. Othertimes its as simple as seeing if they hit you or the wizard harder. Many situations you can't (shouldn't) marrow because of mixed mobs, but many you can. Especially if you're questing a single type of mob. I used to run with a veno alot and watching how the mobs hit her in human form vs how they hit her in fox form was a great clue (same mdef and hp, but pdef goes up in fox form).
~Build. Most players think we're a tank build so we need vit. We are backup tanks but we tank by damage. Increasing your damage and attack rate means you spark more often (which gives immunity and hp) and things die quicker. This is best accomplished by a high strength build and using fists, meaning 3 strength and 2 dex.
~Aps. Sort of covered above, but more aps means more bloodpaint heals, more sparking, things dying quicker, and extra sparks for things like Diamond Sutra.
~Genie? Absolute Domain and ToP on a genie are great. There are many defensive skills, as well as offensive skills like Tangling Mire that help you kill things before you take too much damage.
~Shards? At low levels flawless/immaculate citrines are about the best you should do. I only bring it up because many people are completely unsharded.

At 80 you can get a Cube neck (expensive) and a CoA ring that gives you 7/8 vit and 7/8 dex, +100 phys attack, 3% crit, and refines for magic defense and pretty cheap. Great for pulling FCCs. At level 85 you can grab some FCC green gear and Gorenox: Vanities fists. Level 86 gives you the Demon Slaughter belt.

    Gluck and happy killing.

    Which BM skills cancel Channeling?

    Shadowless Kick.

Get the genie skill earthquake to compliment. However the only place this would be *needed* nowadays is vs BH69's Bosses with a lowbie group.

If you have your own question, pls make you own thread MrCharly.

Shadowless kick, and any stun or seal in pvp or on mobs will cancel channeling, like Smack, Roar of the Pride, Drakes Bash, or a successful Aeolian Blade. These won't work on bosses.

Earthquake is a genie skill and is instant so is easiest to use since you can click it right when you see bosses start to channel their attacks. Shadowless Kick has it's own channeling and requires you to learn the bosses timing so you can be casting it as they're channeling their own attack. This means you have to start casting it before they start channeling so that it lands during their channeling, essentially predicting their attacks.

Other bosses -channeling is still good for is Drummer in 1-2, and 1-3, Wurlord in 2-3, and BH metal boss. All of these use a high damage magic attack that hurts HA classes.

I never mention the stuns and seals cause well...it never works on bosses. Ive tried to cancel Wurlord and BH metal boss, and done it successfully, but I swear its not worth the loss of BP heals or the genie energy. ymmv of course.

No cleric, no paint, need to solo a boss? Canceling Metal and Wurlord with phys marrow and pots makes it possible, but you're pretty screwed if you mess it up. Luckily with aps and triple spark you can cancel one attack, spark through next attack, repeat.

What is this no paint you speak of? Next you're gonna tell me people do this stuff without taking 10 seconds to use a buff barb and buff cleric.

    Saku gone wild b:victory.

One note about earthquake. Be cautious in its use. If used on regular mobs that causes them to be pushed back. When pushed back, they will use magic skill. If used in cube, it can cause screen freeze for 5~10 seconds, negating the use. Some hard looking "bosses" are actually mobs, for example blackhole. Bosses resist pushback, normal mobs do not. I use earthquake exclusively for bosses, because mobs are scary.

Most mobs i use shadowless kick for first one, stun for second, kick for 3rd and so forth.

This is true but it made me lol. Was clericing a Lunar run and the barb did a pretty nice sized pull but the psychic got major aggro and was close to dieing so the bm... HF'd instead of stuns. So I used earthquake while in my bubble to knock the mobs off the psychic and interupt their attacks, as well as push them into magic attacks on the psychic instead of physical attacks. The BM flipped "Are you *$%#ing kidding me? You just made me waste HF." My response was "maybe you should have wasted a roar instead? Stunned mobs don't get knocked back"

I hate hate hate people using knockbacks in zhenning situations. Archer's using Wingspan, Barb's using Slam (can always tell a sage barb because they stand up to dd. Slam sucks and demon's have plenty of decent hitting tiger aoes so they avoid it.) or mystics using Gale Force to silence and scatter mobs. Hate it. Don't do it. Unless you have aggro and its gonna save your ***. Then I only have myself to blame for either not stunning the mobs or not keeping aggro off from the squishies.
