Trouble leveling

I think its fine with a fun squad. Its just most squads arent fun anymore, just whiny.[SIGPIC]http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/kitsunekatie/guild stuff/allcharsig1-1.jpg [/SIGPIC]

If you want to level up fast, just buy solo frost. Some ppl sell it for 1.5-2m per run normally. It's the fastest way to lvl up, just ask for it in word chat. At 100+ you still could buy pv service.
And if you want to be a good gamer, just read forum. But also don't forget to ask more experienced players because alot of content in forum is outdated or was bs from very beginning. If you want to be better than those questing noobs here in this thread, just read e.g. more about genie skills at ecatomb.net. You can do thousands of quests and kill millions of mobs and still don't understand the skills of your class, skills of other classes/opponents or genie skills. But that's what this game is about. It's about fighting. Everyone is wearing gear and weapon all the time for a reason.
Quests never motivated most of us in this game, they are all pretty boring. They were outdated even 4-5 years ago, every 5-6 year old offline rpg like e.g. oblivion was better. Fonts are to small, npcs have no voice, there is no situational music, world and npcs are static, killing mobs has literally no effect to world. Many mobs are even not aggressive and you have still to kill them. And they have no AI. Lame. If this would be the game, the game would be already dead for years.
The game offers better content at high lvls, imo it starts at 95+, when you can enter morai and farm some skills. Some lowbie instances are nice to look at, like fb39, 59 or 69, but only for a few times, then they are getting boring. That's why I wouldn't level up only by doing BHs.
Ignore those noobs, just play the game as it was and is obviously intended. Wannabe gamers which "play" this game for years and never reach 90+ are just ridiculous and don't understand the game. They should better play an offline rpg, those have better graphics, stories and atmosphere.
Btw, don't go for R8 with your seeker. Go for nv 3rd cast which is pretty cheap now - or for r9, if you can afford it. R8 is a waste of coins nowadays and you event couldn't trade this gear with account stash.0 -

I think most of you are missing the point it's really not that easy for inexperienced players. Given the current population at low level ranges you'll be lucky if you find even a handful of same level people on your path, and if you do somehow manage to make a friend, the different leveling rates are likely to separate you early on... So, you go at it as if playing a single player game and with a much steeper learning curve than most of us had, as well as the handicap of finding as early as fb19 you need squads or the help of higher levels. This means most bosses, as well as your bh runs, which aren't all that easy to find. And you're doing this through the DQ nerf, meaning your best source of income is likely to be quest rewards. Yes, you could farm herbs or mats, good luck going against long established merchants on a market that sells slow and requires you to have a good amount of liquid assets to cover your daily operating costs. Let's say you do charge some zhen, there's a good chance a large part of it you'll spend in not feeling like a deprived pauper, and even good long term common sense investments, such as an inventory extension, won't help you make ends meet. And this is assuming you won't make costly mistakes.
Oh, but you can find a guild, which however helpful and good meaning does mean peer pressure to level up. Especially once you realize higher level does mean better income. Perhaps you end up putting a lot more hours than you had originally planned. Now, every once in a while you may find someone leveling an alt selling FCC spots for 50-100k, but for the bulk of your leveling you'll have to either pay full price (200-300k) or pony up 1mil+, and likely not get half of that back, to buy a full room. Let's say you really make it into a dedicated guild, how much is it reasonable to expect? 4-5 runs a week? Seriously? That's far from power leveling.. And we still haven't gotten to the upfront costs of getting hypers. If you're doing BH a good half of your runs you'll either be begging higher levels to solo for you or else try to organize your own runs, which in practical terms means you'll be paying for wines. I mean good luck finding runs you only have to pay a split for through most of the leveling curve. Yeah, there's lucid, which becomes all but useless at mid-high levels. And there's faction quests, going for about the same xp you'd get from CS...
Just because a well established player can power level his way at a profit, it doesn't mean it's that easy for those learning the game. What apparently it is very easy to do is lose touch of the reality that's playing this game for most players. And let's cut the leetist BS, I'm as slow a leveler as they come and I'll be the first one to tell you how inefficient gearing up at lower levels really is, how slow going it actually is to farm/grind your resources and how little in the way of valuable experience you'll get through most of that process. As an established player, someone who needs not worry about operating costs and who can certainly spare more than a few million, it is hard for me to level on the days I actually want to get some experience. On a good gaming session I can get 3 BH runs or a couple of FCCs for not even a lousy 30% xp... And many days this means I'm going out of my way to organize the runs I want myself, if I'm being lazy or just looking to catch whatever's on WC is not unusual for me to spend the better part of 2 hours idling on Archo. It takes me a week to level once if I'm actively trying, or a weekend of 6+ hours sessions, which I'm usually loath to do. Let's be honest about the actual time and effort leveling takes.0 -

When I leveled from 70-85 a year ago, I did quests while using Hyper Stones. Combined with BH and Crazy Stone, it went pretty fast. From 80 onwards leveling by questing only became definitely harder, so I decided to add Cube of Fate and World Quest to my list. I could do 30% exp in 3 hours daily, which is still not that bad. After having hit 85, I started FCC'ing in squads. Every run gave me around 3m exp for 1 hour max. You can calculate yourself how fast this went then ;D When I hit 95, I only did FCC occasionally, when I did my Morai quests and its dailies (and weekly), along with some cube runs and I didn't mind the slow progress in leveling, because I had more important things to do.
Now, with the option of reflecting, which is pretty damn good exp for lower levels, and the newly revamped quests I would've reached my mile stones (85, 95, 100) way faster. Also, the faction daily grants much exp, but I decided to stay independent until 100 :P
And the best instance to learn your class is FB69, it really taught me what a good Cleric needs to do. If you really have to power-level, master this instance (at best unwined b:sin), and you'll be prepared for all the others, imo.World is full of illusions.

I love fb69 unwined. It is probably the most fun i have had with a squad. Granted it was before hypers and FC craze, so no grouchy get the instance done fast people. I had a squad of friends and we used to run it everyday. After we finished the instance i had a friend who was a wizzy. She would run into the back room where nob and pole were and aggro all the mobs and die just for fun, then port back to town. That shows how much we cared about gaining exp quickly.b:chuckle[SIGPIC]http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/kitsunekatie/guild stuff/allcharsig1-1.jpg [/SIGPIC]

How?
Just do the school teacher quest you get 2 hours in reflections.
One BH another hour.
I can see finding trouble for lower level culti because most of the payer base is leveled up now... but just plain old leveling is as easy as pie now.
You don't even have to grind anymore (DQ has been nurfed so your screwed there).0 -

Bounty Hunters.
Faction quest.
Buy hypers and farm kill.
LucidSilver/Gold Envoy.
Plvls but i wouldnt recomend it.
Quest.
Oracles.
I dont know if people still do it but you can use zenning.
Luckily for us the game has been improved in such ways that leveling is really easy. Just make sure you have people from not highger or lower than 10 lvls from you and you'll see how easy it is.
Good luck
And you can always put yourself AFK in Realm of Reflection :P

Zhenning is like a more expensive way, with worse xp than a fishing/moth party. Basically it was taking pity on the melee classes0

That wizzy was a nut but probably the best one i have ever had in a squad with me and that is what counts. So much fun to hang out with and do instances.[SIGPIC]http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/kitsunekatie/guild stuff/allcharsig1-1.jpg [/SIGPIC]

Just do whatever, if you hyper grind, hyper FC, hyper PV or w/e. Then you can QQ about endgame levels. b:byeWTB PWI 2008 where people were thinking more about doing good rather than pretending to be.0
