Is PVE shut down completely? Seems that PW is dumbed down really strong.

It is true that those capable and learned in combatting other players as opposed to unintelligent and inadaptable npcs will have an advantage. However, this should not be thought of as a flaw or result of some lack of foresight. If you truly hate the idea of having to combat intelligent opponents then you should be thankful that in the process of wrsternization/localization/game-adaptation "pve" servers were made at all. If you don't like NW you don't have to participate.

Don't get me wrong, as I'm not really complaining. I really dont care, honestly, but I've been playing "3D" MMOs since 1999, and can see a huge discrepancy, or even flaw for that matter in the F2P age of MMOs. With the advent of cash shopping, a large advantage is given to those with the deepest pockets. When MMOs were P2P, there was only slight variances in what people could attain and that was through questing and time played. The biggest difference was the time it took to reach endgame, but back in the early days it took forever to reach high level in most games.

And yes, I know you can get the same thing as a cash shopper, but you have to see the advantage they tend to have over the non cash shopper. Few know viable merchanting techniques, so it can take years. Trust me, I'm a cash shopper, as I don't have the time to invest in farming. Honestly, even now I don't know if I am making sense, since I've had less than eight hours sleep in almost four days due to work issues, but that at least lets me have deeper pockets if I so choose so.

    Wrong.
    Pvp is for:

-Territory wars; without killing anyone it would be a straight run for who can destroy the crystal first, and that would be just too quick and boring. I find geat satisfaction in Demon Spark>Cloud Erupt> BOAing a large group of people before getting to our base b:chuckle

-Nation Wars; although slightly broken, I always find it exciting when my team tries to bring down the flag carrier by slowing their little buttocks down.

-Showing off skill. And I mean skill. I like seeing what classes I can handle the best. My guild has pvp lessons on Misfortune every so often, so I have learned well.

Anyhow, enjoy your special picture I Microsoft painted just for you :3

Posts like this when it comes to the whole PvP server vs PvE server **** make me laugh.

Wanna know one advantage to PK on a PvE server? Very few people do it who aren't geared. Theat means you're either entering it on even grounds with roughly equal gear or at a disadvantage KNOWING you have no excuse. Doing that forces you to learn skills as well because everyone's either gonna be on-par with you or better with gear so all you have left is skill. On a PvP server, on the other hand, anyone and their grandma can randomly faceroll anyone else at any time regardless of skill unless you're one of the top end players.

Server =/= skill. Especially nowadays when the PvP on PvP servers is pathetic half the time because regardless of server choice the current generation of players here can barely do more than spark + auto-attack in PvE half the time. Even as someone who's been on PWI for four years and was playing PW before PWI was released, I still see no excuse when I kill 100+ players on my freaking level 85 gamma characters.

And seeing as I play on pretty much every server, this isn't me being biased towards one or the other due to the server I play.
Actually, it doesn't require you to stay for two hours. You can log out any time you want. When you log back in the next day you will have your mail reward in the mailbox, if you got enough contribution. I am only able to stay an hour or so most times.

See these two things (PvE and PvP server) are entirely the problem. When you put in systems that fail as design principles and don't take into account the older systems (noticing that delta was losing its difficulty to some degree and the gold reward for delta was fine because it took team work) you already have in a game, you lose that form factor. We are all well aware of the time factor that once was in MMOGs, but that factor has since moved out as people have gotten older and time gets more scarce.

Drop in drop out gameplay is great. But you're now factoring in two audiences. You've got the audience that is more 4 hours a night on and off and the one that is 8/16 hours a day. Now you also have the people that love to do Player-Versus-Player (that is great/fantastic) and you have the people who love to Player Versus Computer AI. That is also great as well. But if you've got two seperate brackets of server it is still a design problem. Dueling system is always great as ever.

However, how to get people to get interested in PvP (PW MY before it closed / moved was my experience in the PvE server) was you give them something that will get them together. Territory Wars and make that ongoing (but don't make the gear cohesion impossibly idiotic -- Hopefully something which Nation Wars will solve, maybe, but I doubt it). Make the rewards worth it.

Another way of doing this is structured PvP where everyone gets the good gear and or the stats of the Rank 9 and you can customize your armor pending on what you want in it. That appeals to the serious PvP crowd and provides a level playing field. But on the bright hand side. It culls the whole grief aspect of things. Hey griefing and boasting is great. But not if it stops your player-base from leveling, achieving and more importantly having fun -- then what?. Then you wonder why you lose customers.
Time won't wake/make you wiser, but it will definitely wound you.

I started to play again after years off absent.

There is not only the trouble of Power level but also the way older players response to a new player. Most I find I'm ignore in faction if I ask for help. After all I'm the newbie and they know each another for years. Beside I'm not much of a talker.

I never power level myself so i found myself doing quest and BH. BH29-51 I did with a couple of good friends. Always invite random ppl as well.

But now I'm higher level i find nothing much to do then FF. Simple there is no FB/BH or instance run any more on the server. Most go to NW now for raps. Lunar and nirvy are not even done accept by Sins. PPl need a cleric only for FB/BH. Maybe if I hit 100 I can join BH100 lol only problem is I never done those or any onther instance before them.

Having a Venomancer as well I find it hard to get any Squad for bh or FC. After all ppl tell me veno's are outdated ........failure on pwi-staff account?

So I wonder is NW only to blaim if factions and ppl don't even run these any more? Maybe its the fact most are older players who do not really care much any more on getting their gear. So why should they help the new generation? Accept if it comes done to get coins...

    Here's the deal:

NW made Vana undoable, and since now all the high levels wanted Awakened stuff, TT mats value started to drop, since everyone does it. I dare to say it's more profitable to farm normal mats/herbs than TT mats.. Specially with 2x all the time..

So people go TT to get their mats (since with the new gears it's easy as f*ck), at the same time they do some lunar/warsong runs for some badges/molds. And at weekends they get the raps/cannies needed.. And there you go, that's all there is to it. you get awakened vana gear easy as hell..

But what if you want another type of gear? what if you want r9? how do you farm it? All people do is those 3-4 instances, there's no actual good way of making any money..
how will I get money for the rings, charms, refines, skill books, hell even crabs?

Last NW i made around 2m profit... that's just incredibly stupid for a 2h event..

So people have no ways of making money, so how are non cash shoppers supposed to get the stuff you can only get from packs and gold, if you dont have money? gold is still at the same sh*tty price.. maybe dropping a little but still..

that's what i call dead pve...

Around a week ago I made a mystic, it's lvl60 now, leveling up pretty easily, quests are easy, free charms make it mega easy and that way i only played it while i had charm, so i didn't really play that much on it... But now at lvl 60, I need gear which i don't have money for, I need to lvl up skills, which i don't have money for! How is a lvl60 mystic supposed to make money!? even DQs now don't give any freakin money.. that's just plain stupid..
And more, wtf am i supposed to do now at lvl60? quests stopped giving good exp, bhs => 0, again: no money...

so i'm guessing most new players quit somewhere between lvl60-90.. because there's nothing to do then..

    well i made 120~ tokens(with 9k points), which at 70k/rap means 8.4mil..

lets say now, 5mil for charm + crabs + apoths + repairs + paying for the manufacture of the raps..

    well, do your math..

I can't think of a reason that doesn't sound horribly racist, but I've said it before and I'll say it again. French people are killing our server man. Quick back < Profit in the long run which is what a lot of people on Loth don't seem to be able to comprehend. Oh well though. At least the people with R9R3 can still make a decent bit of cash during NW. Such a shame that most others are pretty much left in the cold with no other option but to get NV3 and pray for luck on refining, or have horrible gear. Or you know... CS some R9. Which wouldn't shock me if that was PWE's plan all along. b:chuckle

You have no idea. 15k Cannies, 70k raps, not a single TT mat sells for over 800k, with the majority being 300k or less. (excluding golds)

FC's nearly a dead market, TM's nearly a dead market, the economy is really weird and large scale merchanting is a bit tricky.

The french server is a bit messed up on all aspects I'm afraid, it's a rough environment for free to play people right now, especially those with lower end gear. b:surrender

Yeah... NW is what killed it to be honest. Before that TT was still very profitable, as was Nirvana. I'd settle for a stronger economy over easier to get third cast any day. Oh well, nothing to do but adapt.
