i used to have an FPS of about 60, a few months back, but now the max i ever reach is 20 :( in instances, it goes to about 5 which is very annoying :( i dunno if the problem lies with PWI or my comp, but it used to be high back when i got this PC (8 months back). what do i do to increase the FPS and reduce the lag? :)
My Ping is 800-900 atm.

This would go to Tech support subforum and you might want to post your computer specifications and DxDiag report.

Anyway, I know the feeling. My FPS is always 0-20. Just got used to it. In rare ocasions when it gets 40-50 I'm like whoa O.o so wierdly smooth. But my laptop has always been crappy so I just deal with it.

if you are using a laptop, I've had the same problem, and it was due to overheating. I took my laptop apart, and between the fan and the heat sink there was a mat of dust stopping the airflow. i pulled the layer of dust off, and my performance improved 80%.

Got to love how people often ask for help, but never provide information to be able to help them.b:infuriated

I will need a copy of your dxdiag.txt file, and a link to a published Speccy report taken while you are having the issues.
(Remember to use the [code] tags for the dxdiag info and to remove any trademark characters so it doesn't get cut off.)

Also, here's a couple of interesting articles...

And yes, this should have been posted in Tech Support.
Take the time to look for your answer before you post like an idiot.

i agree with sasha. its because your computer heats up quickly so the level of performance decreases. what you need to do is unscrew the bottom of your laptop and use a brush to get all the dust off the fan. the dust actually affects the fan's work. it worked for me so it should work for u as well :))

oh and if you're worried that the parts of the laptop's system will start separating and come off when you unscrew the bottom, its not going to. they're stuck together. all u have to do is brush it.

last 2 NVidia update installed crashed like everyone and drivers dropped fps and doubled lag. I don't trust them any more for any info.

I experienced low fps as well. I'll clean out my pc again and see if that improves.

    I have two odd situations.

FPS = 40~80 range, ping = green, screen moves every 2~4 seconds, jerky movements. Ideally such numbers are what games need to be played at, but they create a jerky game play for me, no idea why. It only happens for 1~3 minutes. After that ping goes to yellow and things are smooth again.

Ping = yellow, green, fps = close to 0 on non crowded spots, instances, with no one else around. I am guessing processor spikes causes this decrease in performance, but i have no idea, just a wild guess.

It could be my net connection, it has been wonky for quite a few months now. I just live with the game, as Allisandre said, follow those steps, so people can take a peek on what is happening in the background. They can help you out better.

I have latest driver-310.90 of NVIDIA i don't find any crash or dropping fps, it's running smooth. Try re-installing them and make sure u do a clean installation it might help ya plus this game mainly based on CPU not on GPU so make sure you have updated your CPU,mainboard etc.
