Rank 9 Stage 3 worth it?

So basically about 5 months ago i finally gathered up some money for rank 9 my BM + money for refine for +10 all of it, even after that i was having quite a big amount of leftover money that i managed to make 3 pieces of nirvana s3 and made it +7

i went to hiatus for quite some time and i came back into game right before Nation Wars was established. of course, being the impulsive man that i am, i quickly fell to the "OMG HURR DURR CHEAP CANNY PRICE" and spent half of my money making full set s3 (including the weapon). b:cry

so i finally decides i would save up for 3-4 more months to get r9s3, and 1 more months to get it fully sharded. i went around for real pk (before i got my full set i only pk ocasionally and more often than not i went SPLAT in one shot) and to be honest, i kept thinking to myself.....is it worth it going r9s3 on bm? i mean would the dmg increase be REALLY worth the money? i mean i seen how hard r9s3 seeker/psy/wiz hits me (****** 7k-9k and 15k if crits) and compared to when a r9s3 bm hits me (1.5-2.5k ish) i didnt really see a noticeably dmg increase than when im using an nirvana s3 weapon. what do you guys think? is it worth it going r9s3 on bm?

I couldn't remember all the adds I rolled (I had to chienkun transfer, and rolled like ****), but the damage is pretty much correct, but I buff up to 26.1k hp.

S3 just eats stuff alive. It's absolutely ridiculous on a level of OP broken. Nothing in this game is truly worth the RL money unless you have money to blow on it. But if its pure in game coin - it's worth every penny. Just enjoy your hours farming badges or you'll go nuts.

BUT, N3 works just fine for NW and TW. Dead serious.

Here's the thing. TT99, R8, R8r, N3, R9, R9r, R9rr - none of this matters without the skills to back it up. The more defenses, it's just the longer it takes to get beat down. The more damage, it's just the more lucky shots you'll get off. Couple good gear with skill and determination, and you will rock scrubs and pros in TT99 or N3.

Hell I have a friend who has scored over 200 tokens the last 3 NW. His gear? TT99 mix APS armor +5 with +5 N1 axes and +2 crappy N3 fists (although I just rerolled them last night for him and got him -int, str, and HP, better than mine and gah why do I always roll better for other people. Oh Im ranting.)

Without that know how, you go splat. Can't name and shame and all, and if you're on HT you will know who I'm talking about - there is a range of R9rr and R9 BMs on the server that are just plain bad. They've got swanky gear. They're even on the rankings (yay farming alts). But, like new to TW/NW/PK people I know annihilate them out of pure "I want to win" skill level and know how - because they put the effort in to learn, and in many cases learned some of these skills on way weaker gear.

Since you aren't posting with your name I can't like, say go talk to X person that I may know, or look for someone on whatever specific server. Watch some videos, hell watch Dan's videos. You can survive and outplay those R9rr people hitting you for a jillion, it just takes know how. Skills, positioning, field awareness, and knowledge of what the other classes can do and how to take them out. But most of all? Understanding teamwork both on your side and the opponents.

(And I'm still learning every NW and TW)

I just got back from my vacation so I haven't been posting much recently, but I'm glad you mentioned this. A lot of people get their gears before knowing how to play their characters and get absolutely face-rolled. I imagine this is probably the norm now due to how easy they made this game... so yeah. *Twitches Eyes*

I can't emphasize enough how important it is to master your class before getting your gears. If you get your gear before mastering your class, your reflexes are going to suffer horribly. A lot of my techniques I learned over the years from watching PW-CN BMs play I wouldn't have learned had it not been during my early days, when I was facing people of similar / higher gear. If you start out playing the game with "game-shark" you won't really get many opportunities to learn the basics of game-play.

I still see R9 and R999 BMs on my server +12 JOSD walking around in TW / NW without ever popping a marrow or defense charm; and get one shot by people who would only hit me for 3-4K using the right marrows and defense charms. Enough said.

I actually haven't posted any new PvP videos since NW came out because my gear is half done right now (R999 +10 un-sharded). The gear is ridiculously OP, and it was worth every coin of my hard - earned merchant money to spend on. My R999 +10 already out-tanks and out-damages my old R9 +12 axes and +11 armors.

i have to say, my 1st look at a R9 RR BM was in TW few weeks ago.

The guy was a Beast LOL
taking more damage from our guild then his Cata barbs did.

Only have the weapon so far, but it's definitely a hell of a lot better than G16 Nirvana, that zerk-crit combo is just plain sexy and the damage you do is just a lot better than before.
